  • lo so a MEMORIA!!!

  • This is amazing! If he beat Splinter Cell (Original) He would be the best gamer in the world! I already consider him to be,but it would be even more epic! Everything makes a sound in Splinter Cell.

  • Wow. When I play games I hardly pay any attention to sound and audio. Amazing.

  • Amaxing

  • It is a shame he Will never see Abe

  • You missed so many mudokans. In every screen where is green bottles is sectert place. Like at 6.39 at right bottom screen. But anyways great game still have it at my ps and might start to play it again ^^

  • @F3AROFNAPALM

he cant see how could he read this?

  • pffft.... yea i'd like to see him beat duck hunt and then i might be impressed....

  • i love it, i think, i could do this, but thn the screen turns black and im like, no i cant do this

  • AWESOME

  • 4:20 Mad hearing skills!

Only a game so perfectly made like abe exodus can make this possible!!

  • I am not blind but i play alot worst than him . he is an abe´s god and the best player if seen in any game

  • You, sir, are amazing. I applaud your courage and your outlook. Also just wanted to let you know that as a FPS gamer, I was not offended by your comment. It's completely understandable why you don't play those games, and we can be a rambunctious bunch. Finally, have you ever played or heard of Rez? If you have played it, could you upload a video showing that gameplay? Thank you for posting these videos! Especially liked your Zelda Ocarina of Time one!

  • Beating the game with sound alone. If this were to be an achievment or trophy within an ABE HD remake (lets hope for a release) it would have to be he most hardcore achievment/trophy out there against any other game by far.

  • Wow, I have sight and I still haven't beaten this game. You sir, are a legend.

  • Legendary

  • I feel sorry for this guy.... he didn't saw the skyrim trailer!!!!

  • Bless this guy. This is a great achievement.

  • Wielki Szacunek dla ciebie!

  • "Psh... I can beat that game with my eyes closed"

    "I'm blind."

  • awesome, just awesome...

  • Man... I've got no words for this... Just EPIC WIN!!! =D

  • if i went blind i would miss my zelda game so much. hope you can play it them all. if not i'll can tell you absilutly evey thing you need to now about it.

    p.s. nintendo ROCKS

  • Cool! Did you also complete it 100%?

  • outstanding

  • I'd hate to be him if the game glitched or froze or something he wouldent know what the hell was going on lol

  • 719!!!

  • Wow. This is really impressive. I definitely would never play video games if i were blind. I have an audio processing disorder, so I cant develop the impressive comprehension of sound you have developed.

  • You must have a brilliant memory that you have to develop being blind, memorising rooms, structures and the physical shape/design of everything around you.

Amazing what the human body can develop when it has no choice.

  • amazing and inspiring.

how do you find shadows and doors? :)

  • @SandersonCallum I think he does trial and error, then remembers it next time.

  • @Microsoftultimatefan

I thought so! very good thaanks!

  • @SandersonCallum You're welcome.

  • play portal 2

  • OMG, I wish I could play portal 2, but can't really tell where to place portals. :( amazing game though

  • @MegaTgarrett oh and by the way i was just courious how do you read the comments?

  • @ZiomASek300 I use screan reading software called. Jaws for windows, that reads out any text that is presented on the screan

  • @MegaTgarrett you should play a game called Amplitude on the PS2, have you heard of it? You are put on a path and you basically have to hit 3 buttons to the beat of a song. You can literally do a whole song on memory alone and its a lot of fun.

  • @MegaTgarrett Yeah Portal 2 is just amazing, lots of aiming kinda sucks for you indeed. But puzzle wize you are served... There will be a map editor, so you could eventually run player designed chambers (designed with non sight in mind). Could you solve a basic chamber like place a cube on a button ? And for example place a portal right above your head or in front of you? "Simple" things like that ? Games theses days really fail in the sound department :(

  • U know whats funny (well not exactly funny), hes playing Abe's Exoddus blind (Abe being blind in a way) and there are blind mudokens in the game.

  • Dude you are a legend i am a gamer and i have this on PC with the '-ddcheat' and i STILL die quite a few times. YOU ARE A ODDWORLD LEGEND!!

  • @meccarian just like you're life.......

  • Storyline and mario? Gtfo.

  • SSB Melee announcer:

    WOW! INCREDIBLE!

  • Wow! Just wow! This is amazing and I have deep respect for you doing the best out of your handycap. Especially the last part of the vid was great. I do sounddesign for games and this motivated and inspired me a lot. Thx! I really miss the Oddworld games. Abes Odyssey/Exodus, Strangers Wrath etc.all are great games and I wish they would develop more titles like this.

    Again great vid!

  • what kind of heartless soul would dislike this vid? WAY TO GO GARRET!!! you are my new hero.

  • Well I am beat hands down, I still cant beat Abe's Odyssey , I Find your story very inspiring . With how much of a gamer I consider myself, I have to admit If i put myself to your level, I would suck ass....... Just as a heads up I have a brother that is mostly blind and he still manages to play Final Fantasy X and the more recent ones like Final Fantasy XII and XIII because of all the different sounds....

  • HE'S LEE SIN, THE BLIND MONK.

  • This is just great. Well done to the guy and game devs. Makes me really happy to know that everyone can enjoy video games no matter what.

  • Terry rocks!

  • Comment removed

  • Man... I really really want someone to continue the research into getting people's sight back. This guy is already more amazing than most sighted people at games and school, so with his sight back he'd be even more spectacular.

  • you shold try playing the bit trip game they are all about rythum and noise and you could enjoy them

  • Well almost all...

  • This guy is good! He gets all the secrets!

  • wow, what an inspiration...

  • You are my hero!

  • i know you cant see this but youre the man

  • This should be on Machinima!

  • @xunit94

    wat.

No it shouldn't Machinima is a place for shit content, this guy actually has talent and skill.

  • 10 sighted people envy him his gaming skills.

  • I can't even beat the first level with sight >.>

  • Damn he is better than I am :(

  • shit, if you can do that blind, transfer to the air force academy since you're already in colorado springs. you would be the new chuck norris if you could fly planes blind

  • @cautionthisissparta they won't even let you into the air force if you're color blind so i doubt they'd let a blind person join, no matter how awesome they are =/.

  • @MrTaylork1 Yeah, but he can still achieve his dream of working at NASA!

  • @MrTaylork1 You can join if Colour deaf. So they kind of break their own rule there.

  • I've been trying to self educate myself with video game design (mainly languages like C# and java) and you just reminded me what I should do when I finally start to know enough to begin my game's development! I promise now that if it does ever see the light 'o' day, it'll be playable for anyone blind or deaf. Maybe not blind AND deaf until VR is mass produced or something, but at least blind OR deaf.

  • I owe everybody an apology. I am sorry for making fps players look stupid in my video. I should of said that those games require a different skill set then the games that I like to play, and I just don't have the skil to play fps, but I love the puzzle games. sorry if I offended anybody

  • As a person who can see, watching this is humbling! This officially makes me terrible at Abe games! You are awesome!

  • thats amazing man. guess you wont see this though.

    get it...booo

  • this guy is incredible. i am truly awed and inspired by him.

and, the way he points out that these games have been designed perfectly in such a way that he can play them has made me fall in love with them more.

  • It's funny because I watched this video with no sound.

  • I grew up playing this game, and I still can't even beat it now...

  • This guy is a total dick, like FPS games are made for stupid people....

Legged of Zelda has good story? lol elf boy saves princess. cool story bro.

  • @lifeismasked lol troll

  • @lifeismasked perspective check, the guy is fucking BLIND??? also, what you have described is the plot of Zelda, the story includes all the nuances and effects the story gives you. a Simple plot does not equal bad story, this is a misconception quite common in videogame writing. Maybe you should read "Anton Strout: Writing in games by a writer who games" google it.

  • @lifeismasked Most people that study the sciences are pretty elitist. I don't really mind it seeing as they usually are pretty smart.

  • simply genius sir. ill be looking for you in the news!

  • great to see blind people playing the games, not worried that he can't play fps games, but kudos for being able to play any game :)

  • I like how he says that shooters & the people who play them are stupid. Typically when one begins a sentence with "What I like..." you do not follow that with "...aren't the stupid things that you like. What I like takes brains."

Yeah? Well what I like takes sight.

  • this game is hard as balls, and a blind person is getting thru it like nothing, i don't even know what to say, that's beyond godlike!

  • console games for blind people. why not? I think that could definitely work if done right.

  • I'm all for encouraging people with disabilities to live life to the fullest, but this kid has to know that his karate instructor is giving him belts just for shits and giggles.

  • How could he tell what direction enemies were coming from? Or where they were?

How did he know where the edge of a ledge was?

  • Gay'n'fake

  • @meccarian I usually hate trolling but somehow your comment struck me as hilarious

  • @ztarwarz that wasn't trolling, weirdo

  • @meccarian ...well then what was it?

  • @ztarwarz just a gameplay with a FUCKING COOL WANNABE AWESOME title?

  • Abe's Exoddus - a great game, very hard though. I could not even beat it WITH visuals. Playing through the whole thing WITHOUT it? Aweseome... Yet I think memorizing the architecture of the entire game might have proven itself much work rather than fun.

  • Wow you so great let me suck your dick

  • This is awesome!

  • I like abe very much, but even with my good sight I could pass the whole game.. so he is a genious!!! :D

  • @CygnusCharr i think some poeple just pressing instantly the button ^^ without even to know what is going on on the video :P

  • @CygnusCharr Yeah, so many people are petty and small-minded. But what else is new?

  • That is too crazy. I'm also an Advanced II Brown Belt in Universal Kempo Karate and I will also be testing for my black belt in the Vegas gathering in a year and a half. Hope to see you there!

  • Great video man, may god bless your soul.

The HD oddworld remake for the ps3 better come to the 360 aswell, or else i will seriously protest. I have both but i would rather play it on the 360.

  • You sir, are amazing, and you live in my hometown! Keep on gaming!

  • @CygnusCharr Maybe they're blind? We need audio cues for the like button

  • and thats why Abe Exodus is one of the best games of all time....

  • All you guys arguing over some dumb shit on this video... It's not like Terry's going to read the comments you leave.

  • @1M3ack .... LOL!

  • I love you, you are a blind gamer from COLORADO! woop woop

  • when he said he doesnt want his eye sight back, i think he werent telling the truth!

its one of the great things! there is only so much you can imagine from sound and someone telling you! seeing it is another thing!

great job tho! i would have given up on that game :(

  • I've heard of blind people who play text based muds, but this dude he's the real life daredevil...

congrats for the people who made the oddworld series too!

  • Inspiring.

  • whose going to hire you to work on enginaring stuff and arospace stuff. your kinda blind. but on the up side you might make a good teacher of the subject. I'm supper jelous becasue I have trouble in my electronics class and here you are on your fifth year with your stuff. I know I'm preaching this to the wrong person but sometimes the world isn't fair. last but not least nooooooo don't cut the read wire no the green wire boom. I bet you type faster and spell better than me too.

  • Your Straight G! No lie . The Best

  • I'm not sure which is the greater achievement for this guy. Almost completing a mechanical engineering degree (with an aerospace minor to boot), or being able to play video games without sight. I tip my hat to this guy, for not letting his impairments get in the way of his life :)

  • That´s amazing ;)

  • I've met Terry and know his family well. He is an extraordinary person and achieves far more in life than those of us with sight. When he says he wants to be the first blind astronaut, I have no doubts he will reach that goal! Well played Terry!!!

  • Terry, you sir are amazing. Oddworld Inhabitants, you guys are amazing. Too bad that movie came out. I would buy that and another game if it came out too D: But has anyone but me noticed anything? The nlast thing the channel oddworldinhabitants put out was for strangers wrath, and that was how many years ago now? Does this mean *smiles* THEY ARE STILL AROUND? I know there will be a HD abe pack remake, but I want a whole new game with the original 2D feel for like the xbox. Like if any1 agrees

  • @iamnemptybag i hope so man! I would like a Abe 3 !!! :D

  • @iamnemptybag a hd remake of oddworld games are coming out

  • @iamnemptybag Oddworld Inhabitants have announced that they are contiuning work on a new game the announced a while ago called "Hand of Odd". It is going to be a real-time stratedgy game, not a platformer.

  • So great dude, from France.

  • Well I'm not blind, and I couldn't manage to finish this game game; it's freakin' incredible!!!

  • I am very impressed by this guy, But i dont think it could be possible to beat Metroid prime blind, There are floating walkways you have to jump on, and ertain things you need to aim to shoot. No hard fellings, But i just dont think its possible

  • LOVE IT!!

OMG, HOW CAN YOU DO THAT, UR JUST THE BEST!

  • so amazing, but how do you jump over holes? they dont make sound lol

  • @ZiomASek300 'the occasional helpful description from his brother'

  • @ZiomASek300 Trial and error, and apparently the ability to literally visualize the area in his head.

  • @ChaosBahamut its amazing, i went on oddworld yesterday and tried to do the slig barracks with my eyes closed.

    impossible

  • this dude is a boss. way to be terry....although i guess writing out daps on youtube is kind of lame when trying to let a blind dude know how cool he is...

  • I'm an Oddworld fan myself, and what I just cannot understand is how he can know where ropes and other fysical stuff are, which does not make a sound, and when does he know when to jump, when to give commands and so on... Truly amazing...

  • Way to go man. I'm cool with a blind man playing a videogame. Just don't get any stupid ideas like trying to drive a car or something!!! lol

    Just kidding, good job man!!!

  • 6 people should lose their sight for a day.

  • What's interesting is how he perceives the world. If he relies on sound... well... I can only imagine slightly... It must be an interesting world for him.

  • onlyusemeears! really cool, someone should make other games playable for you dude.

  • I wasn't able to beat that game when i played (ok, i was 5 or 7) but this guy made it blind! Great job, every blind person should know your story

  • 6 people cant beat Abe's Exoddus even with eyes.

  • ja tak w to nie gram chociaż widzę

  • Someone tell this kid he is utterly amazing. I would kill myself is I was blind. This kid makes lemonade of lemons

  • @Maharg23 Kid?

    He is 23!

But yeah he is pretty amazing.

  • 6 people are blind , pressed the wrong button

  • not dissing, but he must have took a lot of time to achieve that and that's not really fun imo lol I mean he probably spent hours trying to remember sound sequences and timings of each level by heart, but I bet that if you take his controller and move abe 2 steps, he would be lost... he's only repeating sequences like " after the first step noise I msut count 2 secs before jumping" etc... games are not meant to be playe by heart

  • @mouloudo he took a month to beat it for the first time

  • awesome buddy!!! cheers to you

  • The Dislikers are Just Jealous Bitches wich cant Play Games while they are Seeing it.

  • Congrats !!!

  • Heartwarming =D

  • respect :)

  • This guy is heaps better at this game than i ever was, and i can see 20/20.

    The mind people, use it!

    Cheers to this guy.

  • 4 people are jealous

  • Please record a full playthrough of this game :D. This is so inspiring :D

  • It sucks that he wont be able to read these comments =(

  • @iamdeadly1 he is lol, i am a web developper. Web accessibility is getting better everyday, he uses a screen reader for sure and i bet Google respect accessibility constraints

  • @SteamVPC What?

  • Vision.. something many of us take for granted.

It's pretty cool that he can manage all this.

  • this almost makes me want to try to design a game with a blind audience in mind, so that a blind person can easily play but still be enjoyed by a seeing audience too

  • psshed i can do that

  • I dont get it... Whats the point in being an engineer and a karate expert... WHEN YOUR BLIND?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • I always noticed how mechanical the sounds of Abe's Oddysee were, thinking you could count the steps with our eyes closed. Awesome stuff man.

  • this is so damn inspiring. simply amazing.

  • Hey Terry, finishing this game the way you did, really is quite a achievement.

May i recommend "Rythm Heaven" for the DS, it is a rythm game, with lots of audio feedback aswell. (and its both challenging and fun to play)

I tried playing it with my eyes closed and it was managable, even for someone who normally is just visually oriented.

  • sound is pretty important in shooter games..

  • If this were an actual gaming achievement, it'd have a gamerscore of Infinity.

  • With visuals, people panic at the sight of certain things. It makes sense that he is errorless during the entire video. Propz man,

  • kinda puts your own life in perspective, wtf have I been doing with my life...

  • Everyone, get your silencers.

  • I wouldnt want to fuck around with this guy hes probely better at karate

  • How 0_0

  • Karate? Give this guy a cain sword.

  • ok that's sick...

  • wow, really good, sux that he can't see the comments :s

  • @aLegendKoSt dont worry, he has screen reading technology, he can read them just fine :)

  • Amazing game, amazing guy.

  • holy fuck this guy is awesome!

  • Man, you are amazing. I don't know if you are aware about it but the special Tetris series : "TETRIS THE GRAND MASTER", has been designed to be eventualy played with the sound. I already tried a bit, but I can't, because I can see the game so my hearing sens will never be accurate enough to be used like yours. If you are interested go visit my videos and contact me.

  • warning...ninja playing xD
