McCaw is THE complete player. He averages 15 tackles a game, more that 8 runs. His work rate around the field is far better than Pocock (being at every ruck and waiting at the pillars is not being busy). He is a far better runner than Pocock, both in loose and tight play, his effectiveness in the tackle and pilfer

McCaw is far more versatile as a player than Pocock, who can only play openside flanker well. Do I even have to say how many times McCaw has scored against Australia, or completely shut down a game by himself? The guy may be as good as McCaw in another couple of years, but he is nowhere near the class of McCaw, the IRB POTY 3 times in less than 5 years.

Couldnt defend properly, was hopeless under the high ball and was a sitting duck out on the wing (went through some games only touching the ball once). Richie is the complete player, 99% of the time he will make the tackle, and you can be sure 100% of the time he will put his body on the line for his team/country. You dont win IRB POTY 3 times for nothing.

@guyyug8 But doesn't mean that the guy you said to "why can't you admit he's the best?" has to hold the same opinion. I have 2 that I think are the best, McCaw and Burger (in SA open-side wears 6). Reason for both is they are so different but both are the best at what they do. Richie is the turn over king, nobody can match him in that area. But Schalk is the top defensive flanker, his ability to be every where, tackling/running makes him Unique, he has by far the highest work rate in rugby.
