The only knock against Suh is that he does the same bull rush move every play. He will need to learn more to dominate in the pros.

to all the people that keep saying mccoy has a quicker first step:

wake the F up! did you not see Sports Science? .26 of a second. Also, the 2 guys played in much different defenses. If Suh wasn't suppose to explode into the backfield each play, McCoy was and still had (in his career) equal stats to Suh's senior year. I would've liked to see Suh shoot in there more often, but that wasn't his job. He was suppose to stand up his guy, read the play, and then throw him to the side.

As a Bucs fan, I want Suh but would still be more than happy with McCoy if Suh is gone. Suh is the better all around player but McCoy is a perfect fit in as a T2 undertackle and would perform nearly as well in our scheme. in a T2, McCoy might even be able to pressure the QB better than Suh.

i dont think the lions will get suh since they picked up corey williams in free agency, but with the rams, lions, and bucs drafting 1-2-3, i cant imagine suh dropping past the bucs. the only way that happens is if the rams go QB, lions go OT, and bucs end up being retarded and drafting mccoy over suh. even then, suh wont drop out of the top 5. someone up there will be smart enough to draft him even if they dont need a DT.

@huskermaniac28 I can tell you right now that if the Bucs do somehow get to choose between Suh and McCoy at 3 and they choose McCoy.....the fans might mob up and sack One Buc Place. McCoy might be more explosive or whatever, but he is a shade of the player Suh is against the run and Suh isn't exactly bad at rushing the QB either. But the Bucs run defense is horrible and we are in a division with power running. Suh has to be the choice if he is there for us.

@Elthenar yeah you are right. mccoy maybe has a quicker first step, but thats only one small part of even rushing the QB, let alone all the things that go into being an NFL DT. i still think Suh is better at not only playing the run, but rushing the QB as well. the numbers show it. and nobody can say mccoy had more talent playing around him if you look at the other guys on nebraska's D. Ill be incredibly surprised if Suh doesnt have a better NFL career than mccoy.

yeah, i know they need a QB, but they can wait a year if it means getting a talent like suh. these 'experts' that claim mccoy is just as good as suh, or better, just need to look at the stats. that makes it quite obvious who is the vastly superior DT. besides, the two QBs the rams could pick are both pretty risky, for different reasons. Suh would be the smart pick in the long run. the rams should never have gotten rid of warner though.

you have a good argument there. however, matt ryan is the type of guy that doesnt come around too often, and the jets didnt get there because of sanchez. they could have made it with practically anyone with the running game and defense they have. its all a matter of opinion, and since the only decent looking QBs are clausen and bradford, and with suh still on the board, i still think you gotta take suh. if it werent for suh being in this draft, i totally agree they would have to go QB.

@huskermaniac28, I was a fan of suh because of the stats and how he literally threw QB's. But if you watch the film on the two, you have to notice the explosiveness that mccoy has. I would honestly rather the rams take mccoy because of the explosiveness. Dont get me wrong, Suh is a beast and much stronger than mccoy but you dont see the explosiveness and effort to get to the ball like mccoy does EVERY SINGLE PLAY. Anyway I think the rams will and should take Sam Bradford. Im not a Sooners fan..

If we were talking defensive ends, who have more space to make plays, I'd agree with you. But, this is the inside, it's messy, and finesse alone ain't going to cut it. I like McCoy, but I find he can be neutralized easier than Suh. Just like in college, Suh will get a lot of sacks just because he can overpower people.
