I can now see that Gief has always been a badass because I only started playing him in SF4 after Hugo had me interested in grapplers in SF3. I'd have loved to have seen a Streetfighter 3 Zangief or Hawk to keep Hugo and Alex company in the grapplers lounge.

@gunsandblood You have to quickly rotate the control stick in a manner so that it pretty much goes 360 degrees (so like rotating it in a circle). It's hard to do in the Street Fighter 2 games, but in SF4 they made it pretty easy to do cause you don't even really have to do a full 360 degree motion.

Zangief in the game uses the RFS fight style not simple wrestling. More than 75% of this moves are not allowed in wrestling , boxing, kick boxing or any kind of legal fighting. The real life pro wrestler Victor Zangiev uses only pro wrestling moves. You cannot eat opponent ears, bite him,crash his head, hold him beat him to death, strikes under belt, attack enemy's eyes,throat, back head and so on. RFS is for killing not for fighting. But then again that's game and that way is more interesting.

I fucking hate Zangief. He can grab you no matter what you do. Attack him? He grabs you. Try to jump? He grabs you. Try to get up from the ground? He grabs you. Mid air? He grabs you. Performing a super move? He grabs you. He gets up right next to you? He grabs you. He is fucking overpowered, and can grab everyone way too many times. Zangief sucks, and Capcom needs to nerf him BADLY.

@TeeAiDee Sounds like you're dropping combos then. If he's grabbing you mid combos you're dropping them. The best advice I can give you would be to simplify your combos. Another idea would be to actually pick him up and learn him. Knowing HOW to play him is the best way to beat him. Also... since you hate Zangief, DONT ever look up Pony. You'll die from rage.

@TeeAiDee One more thing too. Noob Gief players love to mash his Command Grabs. if you know it's coming, interrupt your own combo mid hit and neutral jump. Gief will whiff his grab, you get to punish him some more. Just watch out for Lariats.
