Okay. I think his movies are enjoyable, not good, enjoyable, if you turn of your brain. His filmmaking is quite poor, and there is no subtlety at all, but it's moderate entertainment. I wouldn't pay for a MB movie, if it runs on TV and there's nothing better... It's entertainment, sometimes you want lightweight entertainment. Stuff blowing up is fun.

I loved Transformers, not a masterpiece but awesome movie, i knew i was gonna watch an action movie... thats what happened, i saw an action movie, so obviosly i enjoyed it. i watched Ultimatum at home... and i havent watched District 9.
There's Michael Bay who's good at action set pieces and then there's the Directors I mentioned earlier who are good at both action and story telling.
JJ Abrams is a great example of this as it wasn't just the fantastic effects and action set pieces that made Star Trek, it was the full package - the emotional envolvment, the quick and witty dialogue, the humour, the visual aesthetic, the speed at which the film moves, the lovable and engaging characters (all of them), the actors and more ...

he's a great director. name another director who is 100 percent. the guy is 8/8 on having entertaining action movies. 6/8 movies have grossed over 100 million and like 2 billion total. that proves something.

how was Pearl Harbor fucked up? I thought it was very moving and sad. It made me really feel for those people that died at Pearl Harbor and for the two main characters. It puts you in the shoes of a soldier there, and it shows how sad war really is, especially when loved ones die in it.

He should talk about why and how japs planed this attack, how they tricked America before the attack and so on. 40 minutes left, Michael Bay finally put on explosive scenes (which he only good at).After watching this movie. People still have no idea what caused the attack. All they got are explosions and a third-class boring love story. That's why it sucks.

They did tell why and how the japs planned the attack. America cut of their oil supply, so japan would only have enough oil for a certain amount of time. I remember the japanese general saying that in the movie. They tricked america by sending them messages of peace or something. I remember america didn't even suspect them until it was too late.
If people have no idea what caused the attack then they must have not payed attention much.

Even after all the critisim for his previous movies, transformers 2 still made $700,000,000. People don't care, he doesn't care, and he's not changing.

neither's correct because there so extreme. He isn't the best director but he isn't bad.

I think he's a fun director, the storylines in his older films are far better, he directs cheesy movies on a massive scale.
He does work incredibly hard, there's effort's in him that isn't in a lot of other film makers

Regardless of what you might hear one of Bays greatest joys is to sit in the audience in a random cinema and just watch people react to his films.
He is one of the few directors that stands up to companies, he refused to get Transformers converted in to 3D.
I know some people don't like his style, but he does stand up for his films.

Then that was the end of 90s Michael and we were treated to 2000s Michael with what has to be his worst film, Pearl Harbor. If only it had remained an hysterically bad love story, and not turned into a politically offensive monstrosity. I do appreciate that Transformers 2 vies for the top spot though.
He should just do small action films. The more money he has, the uglier he gets.

People gotta remember that in these big budget pieces, there are TONS of people to please and in the end, the director can be very helpless at times. That's why so many big directors actually prefer working on smaller, more indie films where their personal vision actually has a chance.

I loved Transformers, not a masterpiece but awesome movie, i knew i was gonna watch an action movie... thats what happened, i saw an action movie, so obviosly i enjoyed it. i watched Ultimatum at home... and i havent watched District 9.

There's Michael Bay who's good at action set pieces and then there's the Directors I mentioned earlier who are good at both action and story telling.
JJ Abrams is a great example of this as it wasn't just the fantastic effects and action set pieces that made Star Trek, it was the full package - the emotional envolvment, the quick and witty dialogue, the humour, the visual aesthetic, the speed at which the film moves, the lovable and engaging characters (all of them), the actors and more ...
