A crime that this song was not a huge hit as well as the album. I have all 3 versions from US and the Australian and Japanese versions with different extra tracks which are terrific. Damn radio programmers who can't get past their predetermined judgements.

The entire Color of Silence CD is amazing. About the only place to find it is CD Baby and I would highly recommend the CD.

this is my favorite video of hers and the color of silence is my favorite cd ever. its like my own peronal soundtrack to my life. it's unbelieveable. very theraputic. I met her last week here in Atlanta and she did this song and Just Me during her warm up...she point at me cause I knew all the words. she came up and talked to me like i was an old friend...she is amazing as an artist and a person. total sweetheart

Same here! As much of a metal head as I rediscovered her this past October and she drew out feelings I needed to deal with! God works funny sometimes...He used my first crush to open me back up and her music to inspire me! I have so much respect and admiration for her!!

As much as I can't stand Britney Spears, it was less about her influence in the music world at the time and more due to the fact that the record label Tiffany was going to release The Color Of Silence on was having business problems, so they went with Eureka Records instead, who didn't really do that great a job of promoting it. And because of that, almost no one outside of her pre-established fanbase even knew about it until years later.
