  • i didnt know a tornado was in 1989

  • I wasn't even 1 at the time. It went through my backyard and ripped a tree out

  • I was driving in to WATR at the time. No confirmed tornado, rather a tornado warning. By the time I arrived at the studios on Baldwin, there was some small hail. I'm a Tennessee native, so this sort of weather isn't new to me but it is to many CT residents.

  • I remember we had one like around 97 or so in hartford

  • Yeah, lived on the 3rd floor on Wall street. Tornado practically went over head. the house was swaying and it tore the neighbors 50 foot pine up and threw it over our fence. Missed our car by 3 feet lol.

I know was a video someone made of the aftermath in watertown and waterbury but i cant find anything on it at all... our house and a couple outhers were in the repub american a few days later when they finally got power to print the paper

  • Not enough room here. I spent 5 days straight cleaning up after that storm.

  • I have all the newspapers from Waterbury on that. I kept them all.

  • @K4SWX I will never forget that time period, as it's always been important to my life. I remember trees being completely down and a window breaking. I remember the Frankie's hot dog sign coming down. I also remember for quite a while after the storm, your phone would ring and you'd answer and there'd be 2 people having a conversation! And they'd treat you like you were invading their privacy!! Haha! I guess everything was screwed up.

  • i rember this i was in southington at an ocean state with me parents ant the warnning was ishewed

  • HAHAHA I WAS DOWNTOWN WITH MY HEAD PRESSED AGAINST THE WINDOW...everyone in my biology class thought i was nuts
