"America's health care system is second only to Japan, Canada, Sweden, Great Britain, well...all of Europe. But you can thank your lucky stars we don't live in Paraguay!"
We need a single payer system in the USA for health care. You think I'm a socialist for saying that? You've been PROGRAMMED to think that and I can PROVE it. Search the the Wendell Potter interview with Bill Moyers. He was one of the top people at CIGNA and he explains it all in detail. If you hate facts. If you hate truth. If you hate America.... be sure and avoid that video.
@AKIDPRODUCTION09 Trust me, it's not as good as you might think. I'm Canadian , and I had to wait a year to get an MRI done on my shoulder. When you have a socialist health system, everyone and their dog is waiting to see a doctor!
Why are the Americans happy paying taxes so the governmen can drop bombs on other countries that are no threat to the USA, and yet will not treat its poorest people,
@jimbo271uk I will try to explain this simple truth to you. No person is ever turned away from an emergency room due to their lack of ability to pay. Medicare and medicaid take care of people under the poverty level. Do you understand now that your premise is completely wrong?
I attended a workshop on Obamacare given by the Volusia County Health Department. they said billions of dollars will be spent creating clinics. My doctors in Pocomoke said they will have to close shop and patients will have to go to these clinics in about 5 years because no one will be able to bear the cost of private doctor visits. We will now have to wait in line and get whom ever we can get as a doctor. I am use to making sure my doctor is one of the best by asking nurses who to go to.
This video is laughable. Sorry, I'm not american but I'm really concerned about this issue. I can't really understand how there are people who simply rejects the "obamacare" just because they'll pay higher taxes. Health Care should be a right guaranteed to all.
Here in the EU we have real HC Systems and we don't have excessive deficits Gosh, you spend billions in your foreign policy, but nothing with the welfare of your citizens. That's sad...
Oh. yeah. Like you Euroweenies should be lecturing us on anything. Nationalizing our health care system was the not the solution to our problems. Over 60% of our population believes Obamacare is unaffordable and will reduce the overall quality of our health care. That is a huge percentage. Perhaps we understand how bad this legislation is and perhaps you should just shut the fuck up and mind your own fucking business.
How is it better? Average age? We're right up there with you asshole. And nobody here is denied health care. I guess you believe whatever some Communist gently slides up your ass huh? Anyone can go to an emergency room for care. Less than 10% of our society is uninsured. Over 80% of our society is happy with health care. The costs are out of control and that is what the fuss is about; not access to health care. Like I said, our country does not want your socialized system. Idiot.
According to World Health Organization, in western european countries the Average life expectancy is higher, indeed. You can't deny it (I'm not saying yours is low). Don't make me talk about diabets, overweight diseases, HIV cases and so on. Oh, and look: "At least 15% of the [american] population is completely uninsured and a substantial additional portion of the population (21%) is "underinsured", or not able to cover the costs of their medical needs". So?
@DrPhucker hey Doc (love the last name btw), how about if healthcare costs were to be in the form of a cash option based on what one could reasonably afford per their income. Flat rates for services based on income level where you are actually not bankrupted and not making payments the rest of your life.
Greece does not represent Europe... But, anyway, greek deficit is not a consequence of their health care system. The country as a whole is the problem... they are not competitive, their government borrowed excessively for years and years, corruption is everywhere (mainly in the government), greeks are less productive and their economic growth has been anemic since the 90s. And don't forget speculation (which is not helping them either).
@Zytglogge25 that is very good point to make. To take into account we do have some type of working infrastructure here in states however I'm still under the impression that some states and the Fed alike just are not managing theiri finances. What really gets me is how the U.S. can sustain military deployments and overseas bases and keep up in overspending. I more concerned about debt more than anything else.
It is indeed strange how the United States are not having problems with debt. Perhaps the federal government is hiding the situation from citizens. I think you have reasons to be pessimistic.
Anyway, at least, the US are not under pressure of discredited rating agencies (S&P and Moodys mainly). It seems they are playing with some EU economies...
@Zytglogge25 agreed. I'm not losing any sleep over it. At this point I'm under the impression that whatever happens will happen. For whatever one article was worth it pointed out how we all might contributing to servicing the debt whether we know it or not. A VAT/National sales tax might actually be in the future depending on the domestic/intl issues that need to be addressed. Question is how many more military interventions do we want etc. etc. An interesting time.
@Zytglogge25 it is amazing how far influence from any one country can actually go along with the power of money and economics. Frankly I find it all very sickening with the number of interventions and quite possibly altering a country's future. We are all born into it though and we just play the game. Really unless anyone is in power only recourse from the citenzry is voting.
@Zytglogge25 just wanted to say as far as domestic issues are concerned it is interesting to see which states are friendly to illegal immigrants and which states are pushing the issue of enforcement and border security. Looks as if some states are no longer seeing eye to eye in regards to the law and sounds like relationships between states themselves and with the Federal system will slowly be unraveling over time.
@Zytglogge25 It can be viewed as a govt having failed fiscally and in its basic responsibilities over decades that have led up to this point. There is really nothing the average citizen can do other than get out the vote but if the wrong people are in power and just let things happen then it becomes a vicious and violent cycle especially when some at the state and Federal level choose to enforce certain laws and overlook other laws in favor of sanctuary. Pretty dangeorous game to play.

This will mean the loss of thousands upon thousands of jobs nationwide. Not to mention small businesses that will go under by the tens of thousands because of the bill. Still like your government run health care?
@NAGGERNUTZ Don't forget that John Deere and Caterpillar each earned hundreds of millions of dollars from farmers that bought their equipment with govenment subsidies (aka, socialism).
@NAGGERNUTZ Nice tactic, ignore his facts and continue on your rant.
And I know you're for Americans dying in the parking lot if they're in need of life saving treatment and can't afford it. Because to spend your tax dollars on other's health care is SOCIALISM. And I know you're not one of them.
@GOPtrollmaster - Nice try, but no cigar. Nobody has ever been denied health care. By law, they have to be treated. My church has collected over $200,000.00 in the past year to pay for healthcare for people who needed help. Did you give?
Unless you've been living in a cave, or you don't read the news, this health care bill will never see the light of day. Dems are in big trouble for the next election and they know it. The bill will be de-funded after this November, repealed after 2012.
@NAGGERNUTZ Michael Moore said it best" "Republican's get elected by telling everyone how bad government is, then once they are elected they spend their term proving it".
@NAGGERNUTZ But how is that health care paid for for those that can't afford it. Just take a wild guess?
I'm sure you're just like me and in favor of changing those laws so we don't have to waste our tax dollars saving the lives of other Americans that were too lazy or uneducated to afford the PRIVILEGE of health care.
Charity is nice but isn't a bottomless pool of money and no guarantee.
@NAGGERNUTZ The GOP should work on repealing the health care bill so the health insurance industry can return to having the FREEDOM to deny people for pre existing conditions, and dropping people from their coverage because they didn't read the fine print. With all the problems America is facing, all of this should be our top priority. This is going to make a good campaign slogan for us Republicans come the 2010 elections. I can't wait.
@GOPtrollmaster - Absolutely! Repeal Obamacare and replace it with real solutions that doesn't bankrupt the country and place our children in debt for generations to come. Address the issues without creating another bloated entitlement.
Dems threaten companies for revealing Obamacare costs - tinyurl*com/yztflpq

@GOPtrollmaster - Dude, Medicare denies more patients than the insurance companies. If you're going to play republican, at least get the facts and talking points straight. Nobody is denied health care in this country BY LAW. Again, my church has raised over $200,000.00 this year alone just to help people who need it. What have you done to help... besides trolling YouTube videos? There are issues that need to be addressed, but Obama care is not the answer.
@NAGGERNUTZ Don't have to. The unemployed and laid off workers are among those who lost their h. insurance and without the reforms would have no hope of getting h. insurance at that difficult period in their life.
@megarational - I think you're wrong. This bill has no public option. It mandates that every citizen purchase health care. And it will be six years before the bill takes full effect. It will be stripped down or outright repealed before then. Don't get used to it. You'll never see it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
bipartisan solutions??? This bill contained over 200 Republican amendments. And you still want to repeal the whole thing. You are a bunch of partisan hacks!!!
@LarryTanoury: The reason we want to repeal the law is because we think it's unconstitutional. Liberals want to only focus on the good parts of ObamaCare, not the negatives. All of those negatives are why Republicans are strongly opposed to the legislation. It's as simple as that.
The accusations I've read and heard of Republicans being evil and inhumane is ridiculous. If the Democrats had just the good parts of ObamaCare in the bill you would've had Republican support.
Why should my tax dollars go to other peoples health care just because they were too lazy or too uneducated to afford this privilege?
In fact I'm angry that my tax dollars are going to others for emergency room treatment. If you or your children can't afford to have your lives saved, then you should die in the hospital parking lot, instead of forcing me to waste my tax dollars on you. Im sure many of my fellow Republicans feel the exact same way.
OPtrollmaster Cheap very cheap. The worst imitation I have EVER seen. And a load of crap as well. Before this bill people who had no money were getting care as it is. There are programs as well for those who cant afford regular insurance. Boy your statement smells like a load of crap
Sorry but CONSERVATIVES don't want people dying in parking lots. And if that is how you feel I suggest you start your own party, because nome of the ones formed now wants you.
@mcap52 Sure we do. We scream about how we're opposed to our tax dollars going to other people's health care and how it's a big government socialist take over all the time.
Or do you take the socialist position and support your taxes going to save the lives of your fellow Americans?
I'm sure you will try to weasel your way out of a direct answer, but since I'm such a pure GOP, I'm not afraid to express my opinion on this issue. You should try it instead of hide what you really stand for.
@GOPtrollmaster Actually I take the position that our insurance industry needs to be reformed to a certain degree, but not to the extent that Obama is going. And again, you are not a pure GOP.Give me names of some conservative politicians that support your view.
@mcap52 I'm in the UK and we have the NHS. I'm so happy I can free birth control, I can see a doctor without worrying about a bill, I can go into hospital and get the treatment I want not what I can afford, I could have a baby and only worry about the cost of what it needs, not what it will cost me just having it. I can walk out a hospital bill free, get my eyes tested without paying (Scotland) and get my teeth checked free! It's brilliant. Oh, and go to college for free! Ah, I love my country.
@dmanagua Well I don't really know all of them. It comes out my pay automatically. So if I was paid £1044 a month I'd pay £84 in tax and £53 in National Insurance (That pays for things like welfare, state maternity pay and pensions) we pay 20% VAT on purchases as well but usually it's already added to the price.
@dmanagua AVERAGE UK income tax rates are about the same as the US, but it's hard to be sure because we are taxed in bands. Normally you have a personal allowance of about £10,000, then:
20% tax on income up to £37,400 (~$60,000)
40% tax on income between £37,401-£150,000 ($60-240,000)
50% tax on income over £150,000 ($240,000)
Then there's National Insurance, which is typcially about 11%, and council tax.
VAT (or sales tax) is at 20% of certain products, but is part of the price.
@GOPtrollmaster this bill sux but what you said about letting the poor die in the parking lot is just sick and doesnt reflect anyones views but your own.We shouldnt be made to help the poor by the governmen but we shouldnt have to be made to help them either.Love your brother as you love yourself,I wouldnt even let your sory ass die in the parking lot.
You want your hard earned tax dollars going to save the lives of your fellow American who can't afford health care? Or do you think money grows on trees?

@pluto4847 I have no kids if I did no way they would go to public school a tax on fuel for roads is a fair tax and some more sales tax or fair and I am not Republican
No you are the fool. Listen, whatever happens Universal healthcare is here to stay. Massasschusetts has a mandate that everybody buys insurance. Vermont just recently passed a bill that will bring single payer to Vermont. Even California now wants single payer. It is going to happen, maybe not in your hick State, but there will be States that make healthcare a right.
@pluto4847 LMAO... At least it looks like you understand that Obamacare is unconstitutional. Even if you're not smart enough to realize that it is unnecessary.
Well do you believe States should find their own healthcare solution? Lets say Vermnt for example wanted a Single payer system, and every Vermonter supported it, would actually tell the V ermont residents: 'No you can't have that?'
In know that Single Payer already passed in Vermont, but it won't come into effect by at least 2017.
I'm from Pennsylvania, and once Vermont finds a better healthcare solution I'm moving there. Would you try to stop me?
@pluto4847 Of course, States have the authority to set up universal healthcare, and you would be free to move there, and the wealthy businessmen would be free to move to a state that didn't require manditory coverage. What you don't seem to see, is that when you set up a state that takes from the producers to provide for the consumers, the producers will move to a state that doesnt take as much from them, at the same time that the consumers move there to get the free stuff.
I'm glad you agree that States should decide what is best for healthcare. Listen, we can't all agree with one another. I mean some States have Capital punishment and other States have Life in Prison. Some States even have higher sales tax than others.
I'm not anti-capitalism, I am Anti Corportism. I don't believe in the big corporations, I believe in the Mom and Pop shops like plumbers, hardware stores, butchers, bakers, pizza shops. Its all about the Little man.
@intrepidorator I like President Obama, but I also like Mitt Romney. President Obama wants a mandate to force people to buy insurance. That's part of the solution, but is it feasible? Than we have a man like Mitt Romney. He believes States should decide what is best for the healthcare of the residents. As a registered voter, I am going to objectively see which candidate best fulfills healthcare for the people. I like Obama, but who knows maybe I might vote for Mitt.
@pluto4847 I don't really like Romney, but at least he isn't contradicting the constitution when he does state mandated healthcare. What I don't understand is how people like you can't understand that the poor have always had healthcare provided for them in the form of medicare and medicaid. Even the illegal aliens just need to the emergency rooms to recieve free healthcare. There is no health care crisis, it was invented by the political elite to fool you into giving them more power.
@pluto4847 If you like states getting more power look at videos about Ron Paul who is a liberatarian, who believes states and the people should have a lot more power
@bilpayne When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
My state made a law ruling that you cant transport over 25 lbs of copper without first getting document's from the local sheriff's office! This problem of our erroding freedoms is wide spread and some law's so stupid that they even piss the pickers off!
pursuant to the Mack/Printz ruling Scalia warned, "The federal government may neither, issue directives requiring the States to address particular problems, nor command the States' officers, or those of their political subdivisions, to administer or enforce a federal regulatory program. Such commands are fundamentally incompatible with our constitutional system of dual sovereignty." It is rather obvious that nationalized healthcare definitely qualifies as a "federal regulatory program."
its only been 2 days and large companies are already giving huge vibes of how much this bill will cost them. You know what that means...layoffs and downsizing.
Yet another propaganda piece brought to you by the great Father of All Right Wing Propaganda Machines, the Heritage Foundation.

GOPtrollmaster 1 year ago
@NAGGERNUTZ The GOP should work on repealing the health care bill so the health insurance industry can return to having the FREEDOM to deny people for pre existing conditions, and dropping people from their coverage because they didn't read the fine print. With all the problems America is facing, all of this should be our top priority. This is going to make a good campaign slogan for us Republicans come the 2010 elections. I can't wait.
GOPtrollmaster 1 year ago
@GOPtrollmaster - Absolutely! Repeal Obamacare and replace it with real solutions that doesn't bankrupt the country and place our children in debt for generations to come. Address the issues without creating another bloated entitlement.

NAGGERNUTZ 1 year ago
@NAGGERNUTZ Don't have to. The unemployed and laid off workers are among those who lost their h. insurance and without the reforms would have no hope of getting h. insurance at that difficult period in their life.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational - I think you're wrong. This bill has no public option. It mandates that every citizen purchase health care. And it will be six years before the bill takes full effect. It will be stripped down or outright repealed before then. Don't get used to it. You'll never see it.
NAGGERNUTZ 1 year ago
@NAGGERNUTZ you are correct about one thing. A lot can happen in six years. Cheers.

treid100182 1 year ago

GOPtrollmaster 1 year ago
OPtrollmaster Cheap very cheap. The worst imitation I have EVER seen. And a load of crap as well. Before this bill people who had no money were getting care as it is. There are programs as well for those who cant afford regular insurance. Boy your statement smells like a load of crap
samuils 1 year ago 2
@samuils You're just jealous that I'm way more of a Republican than you are.
And why should we give out tax dollars for those that can't get health care, before this bill or after?
IF YOU NEED EMERGENCY ROOM TREATMENT AND CAN'T AFFORD IT, YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FREEDOM TO DIE IN THE HOSPITAL PARKING LOT!!!!
I don't see a single Republican here disagreeing with me on this issue.

GOPtrollmaster 1 year ago
@GOPtrollmaster Actually I take the position that our insurance industry needs to be reformed to a certain degree, but not to the extent that Obama is going. And again, you are not a pure GOP.Give me names of some conservative politicians that support your view.
mcap52 1 year ago
@mcap52 I'm in the UK and we have the NHS. I'm so happy I can free birth control, I can see a doctor without worrying about a bill, I can go into hospital and get the treatment I want not what I can afford, I could have a baby and only worry about the cost of what it needs, not what it will cost me just having it. I can walk out a hospital bill free, get my eyes tested without paying (Scotland) and get my teeth checked free! It's brilliant. Oh, and go to college for free! Ah, I love my country.
Charmedlassie18 1 month ago 2
@Charmedlassie18 Your taxes are how high?
dmanagua 1 month ago
@dmanagua Well I don't really know all of them. It comes out my pay automatically. So if I was paid £1044 a month I'd pay £84 in tax and £53 in National Insurance (That pays for things like welfare, state maternity pay and pensions) we pay 20% VAT on purchases as well but usually it's already added to the price.
Charmedlassie18 1 month ago

@intrepidorator
No you are the fool. Listen, whatever happens Universal healthcare is here to stay. Massasschusetts has a mandate that everybody buys insurance. Vermont just recently passed a bill that will bring single payer to Vermont. Even California now wants single payer. It is going to happen, maybe not in your hick State, but there will be States that make healthcare a right.
pluto4847 2 months ago
@pluto4847 LMAO... At least it looks like you understand that Obamacare is unconstitutional. Even if you're not smart enough to realize that it is unnecessary.
intrepidorator 2 months ago
@intrepidorator
Would you try to stop me?
pluto4847 2 months ago
@pluto4847 Of course, States have the authority to set up universal healthcare, and you would be free to move there, and the wealthy businessmen would be free to move to a state that didn't require manditory coverage. What you don't seem to see, is that when you set up a state that takes from the producers to provide for the consumers, the producers will move to a state that doesnt take as much from them, at the same time that the consumers move there to get the free stuff.
intrepidorator 1 month ago
@intrepidorator
Its all about the Little man.
pluto4847 1 month ago
@intrepidorator I like President Obama, but I also like Mitt Romney. President Obama wants a mandate to force people to buy insurance. That's part of the solution, but is it feasible? Than we have a man like Mitt Romney. He believes States should decide what is best for the healthcare of the residents. As a registered voter, I am going to objectively see which candidate best fulfills healthcare for the people. I like Obama, but who knows maybe I might vote for Mitt.
pluto4847 1 month ago
@pluto4847 I don't really like Romney, but at least he isn't contradicting the constitution when he does state mandated healthcare. What I don't understand is how people like you can't understand that the poor have always had healthcare provided for them in the form of medicare and medicaid. Even the illegal aliens just need to the emergency rooms to recieve free healthcare. There is no health care crisis, it was invented by the political elite to fool you into giving them more power.
intrepidorator 1 month ago
@pluto4847 If you like states getting more power look at videos about Ron Paul who is a liberatarian, who believes states and the people should have a lot more power

pursuant to the Mack/Printz ruling Scalia warned, "The federal government may neither, issue directives requiring the States to address particular problems, nor command the States' officers, or those of their political subdivisions, to administer or enforce a federal regulatory program. Such commands are fundamentally incompatible with our constitutional system of dual sovereignty." It is rather obvious that nationalized healthcare definitely qualifies as a "federal regulatory program."
