I will miss them dearly when they are gone that is for sure. • I like 2:55, also....the love is obvious. And what doxie doesn't enjoy being wrapped in a warm towel in the laundry basket 1:19? Fonzie was a great friend for you and you are wonderful for giving him that special place to live out his years. Thank you.

  • I love the 2:55 awesome dogs absolutely. Very loyal

  • Made me cry!!! And I'm a guy!! VERY nice dog.

  • Bless you for taking in Fonzie, he definitely was a happy and loved companion in his senior years!! We've always gotten dachsund puppies but have decided our next one will be a rescue, there are so many who need good homes. And I loved the song!! Run free at the Rainbow Bridge, Fonzie.

  • Love the video! Who sings the music?

  • Fonzie seems like he was a very loving pup. My own doxie, Shorty loves to snuggle with me. He either sits on my lap or at my feet when I am at the computer. He sleeps on our bed at night. I have had dogs my whole life. As an Army MP I was a K9 Handler, but I have never has as loving or loved a dog like I do Shorty. When I lose him, I do not know what I will do.

  • my pups is named shorty also..we got him from a rescue group and he is quite the character.check him out on here shorty with the string..by the way fonzieclub how did you make this tribute.??

  • people should knoe these are the most precious things in the world..i can imagine ever losing my shorty..god bless you and your puppy may he be in doggie heven

  • Nice video.

Was he a standard- or miniature-size dachshund?

  • Love the music and the dogs. My willy is my 5th doxie. Love em all. Great tribute to the breed. how loyal they are!

  • To anyone whos ever had a dachshund this tribute is an affectionate way to honor Fonzies memory,........we are presently 'owned' by our HoneyBun, who just started her third year with us........she keeps our spirits up and a smile on our face most of the time, except when she wants to chew up toilet tissue!!!! lol.........ST from oHIo

  • A beautiful tribute. Thank you for caring for a rescue dog

  • Enjoyed your tribute to your pup! All dogs are always pups to me. I've posted our little tribute to our late 15 year old pup, Griff. Hope you enjoy it as well. They're all one of a kind.

  • We are members of Almost Home dachshund rescue group and it is never easy to have to put one down. They are many of us rescuers who care. Thank you for caring for Fonzie.

  • Sailor, God bless you and Fonzie's "people" for giving these dogs a home, and all others like you. We have 13 Dachsies, ages 15 to one year; they're animal-assisted therapy dogs. Two of them, Lilith and Adia, were neglected as puppies; we bought them to save their lives. They weren't loved or wanted. Yet their love for us is so pure and devoted! Thank you for what you do.

  • The brown doxie in some of the pictures looked exactly like the face of my old doxie, Rudy. He died summer 07 :'( agh, thanks for the video! he was 19 yrs old :D

  • Fonzie looked lovely!!

This is a really great tribute you've made for him :)

I make tributes for peoples pets after my own two died. Search eBay for 'Treasured Memories' for more info...

  • Doxies are the best breed of dog. So loving, naughty, silly, etc...anyone who's owned one knows what I mean. I miss my Arnie (lost him to cancer 3 yrs ago). He was the best dog I have ever owned, never be another one like him.

  • Cute dogs!

  • a wonderful tribute to a wonderful dog - bless you for taking him in and giving him everything he needed; he, in turn, gave so much to you. Dachshunds are a rare, courageous, life-filled-to-the-brim breed; there's truly no ohter dog like them. I miss my boys, Max and Seymour so much!!!

and yes, everyone - rescue doxies! We all know what great dogs they are, and they need us.

  • my dachshund died today =(

and i needed something to cheer me up and this video did so

    thank you so much

  • I have two dachshunds, and I don't know what I'd ever do without them. They truly are the best friends a girl could have.

  • so sorry about your doxie, we lost our doxie last year and we still miss him. They are the best little pals anyone could have. My friend said that when we die someday, the first one to greet us will be our dog.

  • It feels good to know there are people like you who help dogs like fonzie, it looks like he had a full and happy life with you. I hope someday I can help dogs the way you did.

  • I am so sorry, I just lost my companion of 16 years two weeks ago. Its been hard, but Emit my rescue Doxie is trying to help me along. He tells me it gets easier over time. Emit's only five, so I hope to have lots of years with him. Dose it ever get easier?

  • this made me cry.

i dont know what i'd do if i lost my doxie zio,

  • Anyone who ever lost a Doxie, knows the pain when you loose this special "mans best friend." Nice video!

  • very true. lost mine two months ago. :( great video tribute to fonzie!

  • I liked the song, cause all of us know that Doixes are the men of the house. Fonzie looked like he spent his last years happy, and that's all that matters, or so Emit is telling me over here. I lost my companion two weeks ago, but Emits been a comfort but I think he misses his friend.

  • It's true "Weenies Rule". It is obvious you had a wonderful friend in Fonzie.

  • loved it!!!!

  • Bless Fonzie and YOU!

  • Great video to what looks to have been an awesome doxie. I just lost mine on 10/31/07 and it is one of the worst things that I have ever encountered. I bet they are all playing together at the Ridge.

  • aww im so sorry for your loss! (cries)

  • Fabulous tribute. Your Fonzie was a star! Thank you for sharing this with me. I love it!

  • We have a pet garden in our back yard and I have shed tears for the cats, dogs, birds, sqirels and even lizards and butterflies that lay together. My husband and I are trying to find a way to soften the blow when our doxi and choxie die. We are hoping for 20 years at least. A big hug to you from us doxi lovers.

  • I lost my Dachshund a couple of years ago, looked just like Fonzie, never will stop missing him

  • Well done! I felt like I was looking at a photo album from my house. We dachshund lovers must all be alike.

  • I like fonzie i feel your pain my dachshund chili passed away april 14 2007 that was one of the saddest days of my life and her birthday is coming up its on october 31.

  • So Sweet, Thanks for sharing the years you spent with a great dog like Fonzie

  • Thank you for sharing a bit of Fonzie's life with us. He was lucky to have such a loving family in his final years, and I'm sure you felt just as lucky to have him! The video brought tears to my eyes. When the day comes that I must say goodbye to my own little doxie, I hope I am able to create such a wonderful tribute as you have done for Fonzie. God bless.

  • What a great way to remember your beloved FONZIE. We have 3 Doxie's and we also share your sadness remembering our first Buddy who we burried on Christmas day five tears ago. I must admit a shed a tear for your loss as well as ours.

  • im sorry about ur dog i just got a dauchshund back in december 2 years ago and it looks just like urs but mine is alot fatter =p great vid

  • So sorry for your loss. My 15 year old dachshund Snitzel passed 2 years ago. I swore I would never get another. Of course, I couldnt do without so I now have two minis. A red female (Lucy) and a black & tan male (Desi). Desi looks so much like Fonzie. Even sticks his tongue out. Your video made me laugh & cry. Thank you. By the way, Lucy and Desi came into our life on Saturday, January 13, 2007. Bless you and your family.

  • I watch my brother's doxie when he is away on business. Gilligan sent this video to him the night before his last return trip from S. America to let Steven know he'd be waiting when he came thru the gate. I know how hard it is to lose a dog. People bring both joy and pain into your life, but an animal brings only love. When they leave us a big empty hole appears in our hearts that never seems to go away. Your video reminded me of the 5 empty holes in my heart and I joined with you in your loss.

  • This Video sure brought back treasured memories of my beloved dog, "Buddy"

Thank you for sharing yours with all of us, that have lost our beloved pets.

  • I saw this video awhile back on another account and looked back at my dachshund, feeling nothing but sadness for you. And now, here I am, posting a memorial video for her on here because she passed on in December of 2006. Now, I understand exactly how you feel.

I hope the healing finishes soon.

    With love,

    Jo Ann

  • i feel so bad for you. i used to have 2 mice and they died. i never even got a picture of them.:C

  • I grew up with dachshunds just like those two in the video. Ginger (girl) was just like your brown one and Fred was just like Fonzie, he too slept with his tounge out. But sadly, they died about 5 years ago. We now have a girl dachshund who lloks like Fred named Betty, and our first ever long haired dachshund Barney, who has brown hair.

  • Thank you for your video-a great tribute to a great dachshund

  • Your video tribute to Fonzie was awesome!.. God Bless you all. We have a mini silver dappled doxie that is pure joy. Your video, made me smile, laugh and cry, I LOVED it! I know that Fonzie is wacting over you all.

  • That was so special...so glad that Fonzie had you for his forever home!

  • Love it... what a handsome lad...

  • Its just awesome that you put this video together. Tears in my eyes. I imagine what it will be like when my Bailey passes. Looks like Fonzie was quite a pooch and a character. • That was a great video, looks like Fonzie was a great dog. I have a 9 month old Dachshund, and I'm in love with this dog. • Rescues are the way to go, we have had 3 and they are wonderful experiences, wouldn't do it any other way.

Fonzie was beautiful, bless his heart.

  • Fonzie was one lucky dog. Great video.

  • Very cute. Good for you for taking in rescues. Dog, cat, or bird (my wife and I have eight parrots) no animal is disposable. Fonzie looks like he was a happy little guy and had a good life with you.

  • Dachshunds RULE!! Great video. I have a long hair dachshund, about 14 months old now and she brings so much joy to our home.

    God bless you!

  • There is something so special about a Daxy. I've had them all my life since I was a kid and currently have two mini-reds. They are my best freinds and are the most loyal, loving and intelligent dogs you could ever want to have. They love to cudddle under the covers on a winters morning ( well, ANY morning really!). They are a blessing and a gift in my life!

  • dachshunds take up such a big part of your lives - for ones so small. Once you've been owned by a dachshund there just isn't any other kind of dog to have.

  • Fonzie is beautiful. Dachshund's are the best gift in the world.

  • Fonzie looks like he had a good home. He'll always stay warm in your hearts. I just wanted to know if you made this on as a slideshow because I tried to upload a slideshow. Send me a message please.

  • I just lost my 6month dachshund puppy just few a days ago. My little Olive was attacked by a german Shepherd at the park and she died in my arms on the way to the vet. Fonzie tribute has opened the door to getting a rescue dachshund when we are ready thanks

  • I just can't stop crying when I watch your beautiful tribute to Fonzie. My previous dachshund called Ubi was rescued from street at 2 yrs old, then he spent an unforgettable 15 years with my family. It's been a long time that he passed away and now, I have daxie again, her name is Mimi and she is 6 months old. I wish such a loving home like yours for every dachshund (and dog) in the world! • That's wonderful that you loved Fonzie so much! I had a black & tan named Ric that passed about 3 yrs. ago, he was 16 & loved by all. Just about 4 days after New Years Day this Jan. I lost My Regis (Babypuppy:) He was only 9. He had a heart attack out of nowhere and was literally gone in a second. I't reminded how important it is to never take even one moment for granted with loved ones! Hopefully Fonzie & my babies Ric and Regis are up there having fun playing together. Best wishes to you!

May you treasure your memories of him.

Looks like you have wonderful memories.

  • Great tribute, guys. Love the music - perfect! I laughed and cried while watching. Rest peacefully, Fonzie... Love, your DRNA foster mom.

  • Fonzie passed away at noon on Saturday, January 13. He was in Rick's arms, which is where he wanted to be. As many of you know, he was a senior rescue that had been thrown away and he was persistent about being with us (a velcro doggie). He taught us a great deal about our own capacity for patience, unconditional love and humor.
