  • Look close enough and you see that adult fling the kid back; it appears he got hit but he didn't

  • Insane oversell by Nash

  • when wrestling was the shit!

  • Fan in the front row gets clocked at 1:20.

  • what a great moment! i love the way he could hit the diamond cutter out of nowhere. this is back when wrestling was genuinely exciting to watch! i miss wcw

  • King of baddabing baddaboom baddaBANG!!

  • That was nice

  • Hall never saw it coming...one mistake, that's all it takes and "BANG!".....diamond..cutter..DDP is the fucking man.

  • ILLUMINATI

  • that fan just got smoked by a table!

  • The nWo should have just stayed as 3 people maybe 4 with X-pac and maybe WCW would have still been around.

  • LOL< did the table hit a fan?

man those wcw events were classy, lol

  • That table almost hit that fan and it almost went over the rail.

  • BANG!

  • the diamond cutter

  • They would tease a DDP nWo debut so many times, and every time DDP would turn on them and every time it was awesome.

  • i don't think wrestling will ever have this kind of feel ever again... it's never gonna be this exciting

  • was the table okay???

  • at 1:20...did Nash flip the table into a fans face?!LOL.....lawsuit if he did!!!

  • LOL @ Nash almost hitting the people in the crowd with the table.

  • 1:16 to 1:21 oversell by nash

  • I remember this at the age of 5 lol, I marked out then.

  • nWo era is the best. WCW should have allowed the nWo's hostile take over and permanently changed their name to nWo.

  • Still one of my all-time favorite Nitro moments.

  • That was back when wrestling was great. I miss those days. You watch wrestling now it's too predictable. DDP was one of my favorite wrestlers all time. He was one of those personalities that can be a great "FACE", and make you love him. Or he can be a "HEAL" and make you hate his guts. Wrestling misses guys like him.

  • lol @nash

  • I remember this well. I was 11 yrs old at the time and was devastated when I thought DDp was turning heel. When he hit Hall with the Cutter, I went nuts! Another great moment in wrestling history.

  • People kinda rip on DDP but there was a time when he was crazy over...

  • MAn wrestling nowadays would never get these pops... WWE is so lame now i rather watch the Golden Girls. TNA is ok even though they have some old heads but nothing like WCW/NWO Summer 96 to beginning 99

  • DDP WAS THE REAL PEOPLES CHAMPION!!!!

    Look on Hall is classic

  • This moment made me a DDP Fan.

  • Nash got owned by an empty table...he probably tore his quad too

  • This was the high point of the NWO, if someone who post all those crazy 12 part nitro see's this post please put up where they ask D.D.P. to join and he say's no and the real s**t hits the fan.

This breif little time when Dallas ran threw the crowd D.cutting everyone in Black and white was amazing.

A real work horse getting the pop...not named Mick Foley. God, the only part of WcW I liked, loved, watched.

  • I wish I could go back in time. I miss these years so much.

DDP was my favorite and was WCW's , The Rock.

  • me too

  • One of the best moments of the era right here.

  • Watching this on TV when it first was shown I thought that I was witnessing history.. haha

  • in a way you were. i remember watching all this unfold from 96-99, it was history. wrestling will NEVER be the same.

  • WCW messed up the nWo angle they let nWo run wild instead of having a solid core of WCW'ers lead by guys like DDP against them. nWo usually always squashed whoever they faced and for the longest it was some lame old timer [piper, flair, warrior] vs hogan for the strap. thats why i became a sting fan for 1 night that night at starcade 98

  • That table totally hit some kid in the face!

  • I eventually became a big fan of WCW, but just two or three months too late to have caught this live. Forget The Rock. DDP is the REAL "People's Champ!"

  • this was the greatest era of wrestling imo

  • This is the moment that made DDP.

  • He was already starting to get big, but you're right, this is the moment that pushed him over the top with the fans.

  • DDP was a good worker and earned his chance. Just a shame the way that idiotic booking wrecked waht should have been a big entrance into the WWE.

  • This is the turning point in DDP's career!!!

  • This moment transformed DDP in my eyes from jobber to a superstar in the moulds of sting, triple H, shawn micheals.

  • Comment removed

  • HHH shouldn't have to job to swagger

  • hhh won't job to anyone.Don't you see they beat Jerisho and kept the belts. He even said Its not about Bret its about him keeping the belt that's an insult when that night was about Bret. But you should keeping loving him tho.

  • I bet you're just a HHH hater. I'm sure you'd be upset too if the undertaker was to job around

  • DDP owned scott ass

  • You never see it comin..BANG!

  • @joshanderson6786 The Diamond Cutter or Nash's table throw?

  • I saw this when it happened live, this was a classic moment in WCW. DAMN I miss wrestling in the 90's, I miss it so much!!!

  • no doubt about it .. nwo era was the bomb! ddp is underrated for his creative contributions. he should be right up there with all the other "genuises" like mcmahon. bischoff, jarrett. hopefully he can apply those same marketing skills to YRG and do better than hogan's can opener ...

  • DDP is an ICON!

  • DDP was awesome, watching makes me sad on how the WWE used him,it shouldnt have been The Rock vs Hogan at WM.The Rock vs DDP,battle of the Peoples Champions,THAT wouldve ruled

  • @darthmarkus man you are SO right. And you're right, WWE's "Positive Page" was shit. DDP just like in this video was the one who people loved. Exiting through the crowd and everything. I even remember running him down and giving him a hug at Starcade in washington DC

  • @bman32x thats gay

  • @lilHippo I was 6. You're gay.

  • King of baddabing, baddaboom, badda BANG!!

  • I remember this very day. DDP was still out there finding his niche as a somewhat a new face. Huge crowd, incredible angle. I believe this is one of the most underrated angles of all time.

  • I agree. Next to Stone Cold, he was the best face of this period, in my opinion. I loved this angle. Great stuff.

  • lol @ nash taking the table with him

  • DDP Rules

  • DDP was amazing. Just seemed to capture the crowd. WWE/WWF is total crap compared to the WCW product in the late 90s.

  • I was @ that Monday Night Nitro and they had over 50,000+ people there easy!!!!!

  • i doubt it man. the biggest crowd they ever had for any event was for nitro when they were in the georgia dome in july of 98 and early in 99. i think both of those shows pulled in around 40,000 or so. either way, still a hell of a lot more people than tna can ever draw to their ppvs right now.

  • I have both of those episodes and the one in July '98 had 39,939 people, and in January '99 they had 40,342 people at the Georgia Dome.

  • Regardless, TNA wrestling Cross The Line.

  • BANG! SELF HIGH FIVE!

  • EPIC!

  • i remember this! i loved every minute of it!

  • lol at Nash throwing the table!

  • Man, I LOVED when DDP did that! He stood up to the nWo. He rocked!

  • One of the best in WCW

    BANG!

  • hoiw many people wer in the arena that night shit that a BIG crowd!

  • that was a regular events attendence for WCW back then. Thats when WCW and wrestling was at its prime.

  • lol i know that but im asking the figures of this niight!

  • It was in the Superdome in New Orleans.

I think this was the first time WCW attempted having it at such a large venue. I'd say 25K-30K attendance.

  • somethings missing in todays wrestling maybe its the bang

  • Man, I still get shivers when I watch these events. They bring back so many good memories. DDP and all the WCW wrestlers were the best. They were professionals who knew how to get the crowd pumped, then with the crows pumped, the wrestlers would feed off the excitement and BOOM! Everything was adrenaline. God, I miss those days.

  • @strohsrawls

the biggest pops always came from wcw, not wwf. true story =)

  • @strohsrawls

i've sed it once and i'll say it again. wcw at it's best (96-98) was better than wwf at its best (98-00). end of discussion, end of debate.

  • @jfuya2000 Yes, because seeing Hogan & nWo constantly get the upper-hand every week no matter what was way better than seeing - you know - something different.

  • @CasualVideoGamer

ur comment duznt speak on the same premise as mine does. "Hogan & nWo constantly get the upper-hand every week no matter what" is what occurred from 98-00, hence wcw's downfall. 96-98 was nwo getting stronger, but inevitably collapsing under both its own weight and heroes such as sting, luger, flair, etc. wcw failed to capitalize on this storyline by having sting drop the title back to hogan so shortly after winning it (c. dec. 97- early 98). it became old hat by then =)

  • @jfuya2000 But you're wrong. WWF was vastly superior (98-00) to WCW (96-98). Just check the numbers. they dont lie.

End of discussion, end of debate.

  • @1981bigdee

If you're referring to my 2nd to last comment, it was in reference to my original comment (see above). It is an opinion. =)

  • GOD...check out 1:21 where Nash throws the table on himself....some fan gets nailed....lol - hope it wasn't a kid

  • LOL at Nash throwing the table on himself

  • when did dpp leave wcw? or was he there till the end?

  • he was there to the end

  • Damn, the nWo got owned, like that fan did by Nash at 1:19.

  • i am an nWo fan but nwo got banged

  • DiBiase and Bischoff should have done commentary more often.

  • 3 time 3 time 3 times world champion. Is it any wonder why? I loved this when I first saw it on TV years ago and still love it. Where are you now DDP. Thanks for the great memories

  • me too

  • One of my favorite moments in wrestling.

When DDP was some random midcarder I liked for no apparent reason, I never would have imagined this.

  • Awesome!

  • DDP turned down what sounded like a pretty good BBQ. :(

  • DDP was super-over at this time, just look at the crowd response. WCW did know how to create stars, they just didn't.

  • they already had the stars

    no need to create them

    haha

  • @jlcochran

    that made no sense

  • WCW + nWo= great wrestling

  • Classic. Have to love some old school DDP. Wish I could find the clip of when he dressed up like La Parka. Marked hard for that one.

  • I thing you can find it in the superstar series on here.

  • man, i really miss these days. this was when wrestling was really good and kinda unpredictable.

  • i miss ddp

  • DDP Rules

  • i loved how ddp did the diamond cutter....i remember when he reversed the jackhammer into it...fucking awesome :)

  • lol did he call DDP an "asshole" at the end???? lmao

  • looked like that table nash was rolling around with took out a fan lol

  • rko fears dymon cutter lolz

  • ddp ddp ddp ddp

  • worst sell ever from nash

  • The stupid thing was that they never once, in this clip, had pyro go off whenever DDP did the "bang" gesture with his hands.

  • Is that Ted Dibiase on commentary?

  • Yes.

  • diamond cutter on hall! nice

  • is it me or was that one of the best diamond cutters ive seen????

  • let me tell yall something the only reason the nwo had alot of members was because hall, hogan, nash didnt do house shows basiclly anything that wasnt on tv and not everyone could afford nitro tickets or thunder tickets so thats why they got all those members to go to the house shows and all the other stuff that hall hogan and nash didnt do. so thats reason they got all those mid carders in the group so it wasnt by choice they had all them members they had to have alot so satisfy the fans.

  • Boy you are so right. That is so true.

  • the begining of DDP

  • maybe nash thought pulling the table on top of him would cushion his fall? ha ha

  • "this makes the super bowl look weak"

  • the nWo shirt looks good on ddp

  • I have to say, this is probably my favorite moment in wrestling. I only saw it once, when it aired, but I've remembered it for 11 years until seeing it now.

the only memory i have that compares to this would be when tazz was taunting jr and king reached over and punched tazz in the face (can't find that one on youtube)

  • i loved wcw, wcw to me being benoit/malenko/guerrero/jericho/mysterio, guys like that. thought NWO got diluted with too many members, but i will never forget that segment.

  • a diamond cutter for you, bitches!

  • i use to love the old days good days no more fuck WWF OR WWE

  • That's not what u said originally. U said he never won it

  • Talk about good times.

  • Remember when he was taking them out one by one in the back. No one new who it was.

  • This scene is what made DDP a fan favorite and arguably the top face in WCW in 97 and 98.

  • DDP was a fan favorite but he wasn't the top face in either of those years, it was Sting in 97 and Goldberg in 98. DDP had to play 2nd fiddle to them which is why he couldn't get a title push.

  • what r u talking about DDP was the 3 time, 3 time, 3 time WCW World Heavyweight Champion

  • in 97/98? I'm talking about the 96-98 NWO era.

  • Yeah, DDP was a fave in 1997 cause he was the first guy to turn the nWo down.

You could argue that he was more popular than Sting at this time of 97 cause Sting wasn't on the scene all the time.

  • yeah he was but his first heavyweight title reign wasn't until April of 99.

  • What are you on about. Were you watching the same show as us?

  • my point was that DDP didn't win the title between 96-98, his first heavyweight title win was in 99. And I never said he wasn't a popular face.

  • DDP Rules

  • Nash was supposed to go thru that table not roll around with it lol

  • One of the downsides to the NWO coming in is that all of the good heels in WCW automatically became faces i.e. DDP, Flair & the Horsemen, etc. other then the NWO there were no heels then....

  • Thats true, but it also made it exciting because you had guys that you didn't expect to jump to the NWO jumping over.

  • that's true too
