She wasn't in Beijing 2008 cuz' in the internal eliminatory she was beaten for Olga Kapranova... who takes the 2nd spot in russia... Evgenia Kanaeva was 1st... i don't know... maybe Vera could take a better place than Olga at the olympics
Wow Sessina is amazing. What a beautiful and emotive music! her pivots are amazing. She is really elegant and it's a shame that many people don't appreciate her just because they want Bessonova to win. And I must say, my favourite gymnast is Bessonova, but Sessina is amazing too.
wow i totally agree. this routine sucks. can't she do anything else? isnt rhythmic gymnastics supposed to be more than just elements?? isnt it suppose to be about expression and the apparatus as well?? she not even putting in any engery at all. how is she the best if shes not that good? why are the russians supposedly the best when they arn't at all anymore? anyone watch the olympics? ukrain got last place while russia got first. russia wasent nearly as creative as china.
The Shape Of The Turns She Does Rocks Up And Down Frequently In Each Rotation. She Can Turn Alot, Yes, Her Choreography?! Erm, What Choreography?! And Handling Of The Apparatus Is Essential In This Sport, And Sessina Is Supposedly One Of The Top In This Sport, Yet She Has NO Full Releases. She Should Seperate Her Turns, And Fill These In With Other Elements To Create An Effective Composition.
This is one of the worth Ribbon routine i have evere seen in my life for an RG Gymnast of such a calibre. Not talking about personal taste and own preferences, she can't possibly be taking this program to Beijing? Some nice pirouettes, but apart from that??? this routine doesn't fulfill the international requirements for a senior.
there are loop holes in every aparatus...and ribbon is by far the easiest. It has all the requirements for ribbon. She just does what she capatilizes on what she can do. Like Bessonova, all she can do is be expressive. Because almost ever gymnast in the top 8 have more difficulty than she does.
Funnily Enough, Anna, Like Others In The Top 8, Has A Starting Difficulty Of 10 (The Highest)IN EVERY ROUTINE Like The Russians. However, She Doesnt Have To Do Flexions Every 2 Seconds To Have A High Difficulty. If All 10 Of The Starting Difficulty Counts Is A Different Story, Yet She Starts On The Same Level As That Of Kanaeva, Kapranova, Sessina Etc. So You Cant Say She Can Just Have Expression, Thats Something Extra, Something She Has Over The Russians.
So is this going to be the program she is taking to the Olympics?!??!? Yawn! I agree the routine was nothing but a bunch of pirouettes and spirals. Where were the serpentines and waterfalls and creativity that the ribbon is so well-known for? I really hope the Bessonova is healthy and peaks at Beijing....I want no one else but Bessonova to win that Gold!
Eventhough she is not throwing the ribbon more than once, she has great technique, and it is pretty damn clean. And nobody matches her pivots... End of story...
Suprise Suprise, Your Getting It Wrong, Yes The Routine Is About Pirouettes, But There Are A Limited Amount Of Elements For The Routine, And The Rest Is HANDLING OF THE APPARATUS! They Have To Demonstrate Their Ability To Handle Each Apparatus, Otherwise The Apparatus Shouldnt Be Required, And Each Athlete Would Perform Freehand... She Doesnt Even Release The Ribbon! She Still Has Hold Of It! Her Pirouettes Are Ok, Where Is Her Apparatus Handling, Such A HUGE Aspect Of Rhythmic Gymnastics!!!
Then she just join the Bolshoi ballet and give up RSG. The music was abrasive. It was just a parade of turns. Yes, the turns are the best on the market right now, but there was no technical difficulty with the apparatus at all.
A Ribbon Routine Is Revolved Around Pirouettes, The Same As A Ball Is Flexibilities, Clubs Is Balances, And Rope Is Leaps... I Agree That They Are Alot, And There Arent Spaces Amongst Her Pirouettes, They Are One After Another.
the ultimate boring vera sessina.

i my opinio (don't kill me!!)
it's harder to make 5 pirouettes (and more) in one place than to through the ribbon... you don't see many girls that do pirouettes like her..

They said Barsukova was too balletic and that her, particularaly, ribbon routine didn't contain enough difficulty and was boring but she managed gold

I'm saying that what she does...she capitalizes on her strength..becuz she can;t do the difficulty the russians do.

well, her fouettes look terrible. i know she has got a very good turn-out as for a gymnast, but why does she turn fouettes so bad?
Vanesseur 3 years ago
this is ridiculous- there is not even one throw or toss of the ribbon in her routine
jackofalltrade1986 3 years ago
Look in the end.
Throw not the most important. Possession of a subject and execution piruettes the most difficult.
Beautifully routine!!

Yea. At least when Yussupova does turn after turn she picks more interesting music.

Sorry to say, but this is not what rhythmics should be. All she did was lot's of piruettes.. lovely ones.. but thats it.
