  • Crimson Nocturnal is translating Tales of Hearts. They seem to be handling all the debates well enough.

Looking forward to both translations myself: both teams seem to be very committed and talented despite being amateur volunteers.

  • wow you had just under 300 hours of gameplay and that was almost half a year ago. I can't imagine how many countless hours you've spent on this project. Thanks, man and take as much time as you feel you need to make this as good as you feel you can make it.

  • lolz you got a funny voice not a sexc voice xDDDD but gr8 work dude!

  • I can just imagine the hounding you would get by the conservative fanbase for Tales of Hearts. Klarth/Claus and Johnny/Karyl causes controversy and those changes are official. the people who complain about changes like that need to remember "beggers can't be choosers." every translator out there is going to translate something differently and people should just deal with that or find another translation.

  • All I know is that your ToP Psx translation was great, so I trust that you know what to do with this and (eventually) ToDr.

  • Well then it is a good idea that you did your research because Luca sounds better than Ruca. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

  • Well the original name IS Ruca. I'm guessing you guys just decided to use Luca for your own reasons, lol.

  • That's incorrect. The original name is ルカ. "Ruca" was a romanization of the name provided by Namdai and it certainly wouldn't be the first time they made a mistake in romanizing. The names provided by Namdai Japan have never been taken as gospel truth in official localizations. I did my research and came to the conclusion that Luca was the intended name.

  • @jasonisawesome as he said it was romanization..the japanese dont have L in their language so they replace everything with L to R

    i think

  • wait wait wait, isn't Luca's name suppose to be Ruca?

Bah no matter, hope to see the game fully translated soon enough :3

  • No, it isn't. His name is Luca.

  • Fucking weeaboo purist are killing any chance we have of playing Tales of Heart in english :(

    PLEASE NAMCO RELEASE IT?

  • Very nice. The dialogue seems to flow naturally from what I've seen.

Also, I remember seeing you post "Kohaku" in a couple locations and as a result you were getting hounded like there was no tomorrow. I can imagine how annoying that is, especially since that is a legit romanization. Anyways, good luck with what you're working on and what you choose to work on in the future.

  • I wasn't even suggesting that Kohaku should be used is the funny thing. I was just saying that "Kohak" was totally wrong. If I did translate it, I would want to use Amber. That's what a real localization would be likely to do, but the whole mess just makes it a waste of time for a fan translation. People would whine no matter what I did.

  • It's really too bad that a faction of the fanbase that wants this game in English is so opposed to changes/modifications. You think people who are so committed to preserving the original elements of the game would spend their time learning Japanese so they can experience it firsthand themselves instead of berating translators such as yourself. I apologize for bringing it up, the focus here should be on your product, but I just hope it doesn't discourage you from working on future projects.

  • Will there be swearing in your translaion?

  • Some, but it won't be excessive.

  • wait, so Tales of Hearts is coming to the US?

  • Uh, no. That's why I said, "let's all hope".

  • thank u very much for this hard work ^^

all tales fan like me well be happy for this .. i see all of your work for time to time .. anyway are u going to contiue tales of destiny DC or not ??

    see ya

  • "This project is officially on hiatus until Tales of Innocence is complete on our end and Tales of Phantasia is complete on Phantasian Productions' end. We want to ensure that the current projects are given all the time and energy they need to reach their full potential. Apologies for the delay, but I truly believe this is for the best in the long run."

  • Um... What about Phantasian Productions' Tales of Destiny 2 translation. I've been wanting to play that forever.

  • I'm not really part of Phantasian Productions, so I don't know any more about ToD2 than you do. I'd suggest checking their website and being patient.

  • of thank u very much for everything really u guys are the best .. and take all the time ^^ and dont apologies u do your best i know but i just want to ask ^_^

    thanks

  • BTW, thanks for taking the time to translate this game.

  • Are you on a 2nd playthrough?

  • Third.

  • I have been wondering, what IS ToI about? I've been following this project but I never knew the plot.

All I know is that there are people reincarnated.

  • Wouldn't it be better to find out as you play the game?

  • On second thought, that's a good idea.
