  • not yet - you hiring? :)

  • Yeah there should definitely be a movie haha

  • Who should we cast as Jason?

    Ken Watanabe?

    Tom Cruise?

  • after I left japan(only there for little over a week), I bitched about america so much...I still do every now and again. Such a stressful place, getting ready for college doesn't help either. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck...I feel sorry for you(not sure if I should, but I do). :/

  • Will you ever come back to live in Japan?

  • i hope so...

  • Good luck to you and I look forward to seeing more of your vids!

  • When will you board your plane?

Before I ascended the stairs into my flight back home I knelt down and touched Japanese ground for a last time with my palm as sentimental goodbye... very much to the distress and confusion of the stewardess because I was already a few minutes late. :-)

Hm, bad luck with that camera. Getting it fixed is a noble thought, but they might tell you that it's actually cheaper to get a new one. Happened to me twice already with electronic stuff...

  • well - I say goodbye to this job, but I know I'll be back in Japan next year for sure, so no permanent goodbyes from me.

  • I'm glad you had a great time in Japan. Otsukaresama deshita!!

  • wow....hope you're doing alright!

I was almost in Shimane this weekend....sort of close....Kinosaki....in northen hyogo....great place!

  • I saw Harry Potter yesterday. It's very good. I thought the ending was sad thought.

  • I saw it yesterday - thought it was OK. My review will be up on my TaishaJason channel soon.

  • I guess it's almost time to start the "Life in California" vlog series. =D

Thanks for all the great videos, and good luck in whatever you choose to do next. Hopefully, that will be to continue making great videos! =D

  • Best of luck Jason, hope you get back to Japan. Keep doing vids no matter where you are, we all enjoy them.

  • Take care and good luck in America!

  • Hello!

I am current JET on Kyushu. I just recently found your channel and have been watching several of your videos. I have really enjoyed it so far.

The end of 5 years must be hard. I am just finishing my first year and am freaking out about when I will eventually leave.

Oh, and I did go see Harry Potter!

  • Do you have to leave after 5 years?

  • yep - 5 years is the maximum you can be a JET. You don't have to leave Japan, but you are finished being a JET ALT.

  • There is always private employment ^_^ Or if you are female like me, get married and become a housewife ^_^

  • I'm sad now...

but happy for you. I feel like I, as a subscriber, have been in Taisha with you as a JET, and have experienced some of your daily happenings as a secondary source. It's like a good drama where one connects with the characters then the drama gets canceled. I hope to read your speech soon. I hate that I havent watched your sumo vids yet (havent had the time). And I can't wait to apply to JET myself.

I look forward to seeing any kind of new videos. I am a loyal fan =)

  • Correction: ...your Nagoya sumo videos*

  • Jason, Japan won't be the same without you. Take care of yourself and keep in touch

  • I'm glad you had a great day. I hope you have a safe journey home back to the states =P

  • aww the last day! bittersweet

congrats on ur success as an ALT.

ur vids are always informative and awesome.^^

you will be back in Japan soon.

    ganbatte!

  • Jason, I just read your farewell speech. You can clearly see that you put a lot of effort, time and feeling into it. It was really touching to read and I hope your message reached everyone.

Good luck for what is coming next in this new chapter of your life and thankyou for all the help you've given me related to JET and for all the informative and majorly helpful vlogs you've posted.

I'll always look forward to your vlogs (and I hope your camera can get fixed asap)

    Take care.

    (^-^)/

  • I have a question, are you ever going to return to Japan as a teacher or another job and if not, why?

  • I have really enjoyed your videos about Japan from the short time I was a subscriber. All the best of luck in the States and I can't wait to see what comes next!

  • Jason! Hey pal thanks alot for the videos, its a great help, I couldn't have it any other way...should I go there as a JET, I want to help future JETs the way you helped all of us, so take care of your self and the best of luck to you on your return.

  • The new Harry Potter movie is, in my opinion as a HP fanatic, the best yet. In saying that (without any spoilers), there are the usual bits included that aren't in the book, but they kinda complement the knowledge one already has of the series.

I am so bummed that I didn't start watching your videos a couple of years earlier, otherwise I might've already been in Japan by now. But thankthankthank you!!! for all the effort you've put into these vids Jason. Domo arigato gozaimashite!!!

  • Good luck man, I hope you find another job in Japan soon.

  • I wish you all the best with the future! I am sure you will have many wonderful memories! Cheers

  • cant you go back to work there again?

  • :(

Good luck with your remaining time in Japan!

  • Aw, though I've only been watching your channel for a couple of months, it has made a huge impact in my life, and it's really sad that this length of your journey has ended.

But, I could tell that you had a great great time:)

Thanks for all the vids, Jason!

Hope to see more soon :)

  • Thanks for all the vids Jason, if it wasn't for me finding your videos I wouldn't have given J.E.T. a second thought . I was only just researching when I came across ur page. After watching I knew J.E.T. was it. thank you so much. I wish the best of luck, and hope to see you return to Japan soon. Until then enjoy your time at home!

  • I'm gonna be starting this year. Flying out to Tokyo next Saturday. Your vids were a great help! Thank you!

  • Good Luck man!

  • Jason, thank you so much for contribution to this genre of vlogs. All of your videos have been incredibly informative and motivational. I just want you to know that your influence has been felt well beyond the borders of Japan. As for your students, I'm sure they will remember you for the rest of their lives.

When I finally finish school and get to Japan as an ALT, I'm gonna pattern my future vlogs after yours. Japan will need another tall, plump gaijin ALT doing vlogs for everyone. :D

  • I'm goin to see Harry Potter tonight!

Sorry that your time in Japan is coming to and end (at least for the moment). But at least you've had a lot of good experiences. And who knows, maybe you'll be able to return to Japan sometime. I know I can't wait to go (about a year left). Thanks to you (and other YT J-vloggers), I've been able to learn some stuff about Japan and had videos to kinda "hold me over", until I can finally go.

Thanks Jason! And I'll continue to stay tuned! Best of luck.

  • Hate to see your time come to an end, but at least it will be remembered for ever in photos, movies, and in memory. Who knows what will open up for you in the future and maybe even a new job back in Japan.

  • Good luck Jason!!!!!!!

  • Good luck with your move and new life!

Looking forward to new movies about San Diego. Can you do a film visit to my favorite Coronado Hotel where Some Like it Hot was filmed.

The best to you in your move forward.

  • Well Jason, I've got to say I have enjoyed all of your videos and I am sure you have many many more videos then you were not allowed to show on youtube, so there are lots of memories that you will have forever. I know it's gotta be a sad time, but just make sure that you make it back there some day to revisit everything. It must've been a great 5 years for you and I can't wait til I get to experience everything that you did there.

    -Billy-

  • Are you gonna be able to re-upload all the videos you had to take down once you're back in America?

  • I doubt I'll be doing that on YouTube. Unfortunately there are some Japanese that want to get rid of the JET Programme and I'm a big target for criticism, so I don't want to add fuel to their fire. I'll look into getting my own website perhaps, or something else.

  • I don't quite understand why some people would want to get rid of the JET Programme and how are they using you for criticism? I understand that a lot of people consider JET's to be overpaid and basically on a paid vacation but that's not the case with everyone as you have shown us over and over.

Do you think they will shut down the JET programme or do you think its going to stay alive for years to come?

It would have been hard not to cry when she came forward.

    ganbatte sempai!

  • There's a lot of hatred toward public employees and programs/projects executed under the public budget here in Japan.

  • well are u going back to japan to visit?

  • for sure next March to see graduation

  • Time flys when your having fun! Man I have to say its great to see enjoy all your time there and help out so many people . Enjoy friday or should I say funday !

  • well this is definitely strange. I just touched Japanese soil a week ago. This is also really sad =/ Is this the last time you will be making these vlogs as well? I enjoyed listening to you rather than listening about Japan. While much of your videos were informative and has helped me get along with most of my classmates here, I would still like to hear what you have to say personally about any subject matter that comes by. =]

  • thanks - I plan to keep making Japan-related vlogs even after I return to America

  • good luck for the future! this door might be closing but loads of exciting others will open for sure!

  • You'll be missed Jason. :(

  • nuuuuuuuuuu! It cant be the last day~ =(

  • Damn, this is quite depressing, but this was going to happen sometime sooner or later and I guess it appears that you had a good day... TIME TO GET DRUNK! just kidding.

    -TheWhitey

  • Now that your official duties are all but done do you know when you will actually touch down on American soil?

  • July 31st

  • Sayonara. :D

    Get Well Soon =)

  • sad to see ya go ...good luck on you're next adventures
