The reason why they were so successful, LIVE performance. They knew how to entertain the crowd. That's why everyone went to see them perform.
Anybody can strum a guitar and sit there, but nobody wants to see that. LIVE means LIVE and ENTERTAIN. Just watch Gene perform on this video and the rest of the band - that's what people want. You paid for a ticket and wanna see a show, DAMN they were good at it.
KISS set the stage and did there way.
