  • @mattglad yes haha

  • Omg, my whole family is near Cleveland, I could not imagine having to move back there from the west coast during transition. I cannot imagine how difficult that was. Up in Washington, I see a transgendered specialists, and am seen at a LGBT specific counseling firm. My price was leaving my family behind. Thank you for your bravery.

  • past life dream?

  • Thank you so much for allowing people to know you a little... ignorance = fear = aggression and intollerance.

As a biological girl who felt like a boy most of my childhood, I grew up feeling intersexed. I live as a woman now, and am happy as such, but seem to feel most accepted and comfortable with gay men or trans people.

  • I can only hope that people who know of or are themselves considering "transgendering" would please look deeply and honestly into the reasons why. Having been around such people myself in transitioning for some 30 years I did indeed "write the book". And as I say in that book- "nature just doesn't make that many mistakes". there are many other reasons or even "excuses" for people using a transgender bandwagon to attempt to mask or solve problems..or find themselves.

  • The most honest and insightful vid I have seen. Well spoken, intelligent and down to earth, that was like fresh air! Yet the pain I saw was unfortunately necessary, since the world, much less family, has issues with acceptance. If YouTube banned your vid part 2, do you have a website or would you be able to stream it from somewhere or email it? I do not know enough on how that works, but I would love to see part 2. How you are doing today? Today is 12/27/09. Thank you again for the posting!

  • wow phychiatrists made someone feel bad? there's a fuckin shock

  • thanks a lot

  • She is braver than me, I hope to get out(the military) soon so I can start HRT.

  • I pick up the same thing from lesbians/feminists sometimes... as if their awareness that I'm biologically male forces them to view me as just a straight "guy."

  • Worst fake smiles...(chuckle) :)

  • i think its so dumb to be opened about being a transexual your just going to get rejected, smarten up dont tell them anything, f*uck being honest!

  • i attempted to go thru the transition, but after being shunned out from my family and friends i gave up on myself,to this day i still regret it,now im miserable and i can't even find a reason to be happy for anything anymore.

  • then why dont you start now sweetheartt? its never to late to be happyy

  • Hey babe, the pain fades. And eventually the people who really care about you will come around. And being who you are is the best feeling. I know it can be hard & now might be the right time but don't give up. xx

  • you should persue it now, don't settle for less, you deserve to be happy!

  • @jmmook1982 you should do what makes you happy..parents should accept their children how they are,yes it may be hard to understand at first(a transition for them also)but you should stick by your kids,,the world is a mean place.

  • man that sucks :(. its never 2 late if u feel its right do it, u shouldnt be something ur not. dont be ashamed 4 who u r or want to be the people which look at u badly should be ashamed cos they dont hav the guts 2 agree with you cos there so old fashioned. times change and if people like it or not they cant stop what people feel. like we r all 1 and they say like oh god thinks gay is wrong etc but thats bullshit cos god loves us all and it doesnt say he is against it in the bible. u r who u r

  • forget everyone else. u only live once & ur happiness is ur RIGHT! Transition if u feel that is what's right for. u deserve to be happy.

  • I think you're hott! LMAO.

  • Thank you for the video. Very instructive.

  • why would youtube remove part 2? :(

  • why did you remove part 2?

  • youtube removed it

  • Comment removed

  • @wormglooow why did they do that? did it have copyrighted music or something in it?

  • Really connects with my own feeling. We need more videos that give others education, and understanding of just what it is we go through =/

Our biggest enemy is ignorance. Well done, babygirl ^^

  • You're not going through anything, you just feel like an outcast so you try to hide under it by transforming to a different gender. Get some counciling. Theres nothing wrong with gay people at all, but trying to change your gender? C'mon, thats obviously a psycological disorder.

  • Hey thanks for your interview! I felt it hard to be honest with my parents but they seem to accept me somewhat. I think that its hard for them because they feel like they failed as a parent thinking that they were supposed to raise me like how society dictates.

  • i can so relate because i want to be a girl to!!!!!!!!!

  • Why?

  • when will we see part two??????????

  • look at the related videos.. its in there...

  • This best advice for most trans girls would be tp stay clear of the dysfunctional and supposed trans community...move right into mainstream...people are much more accepting than you might imagine. Work on your self esteem and self confidence before putting all your effort into your looks.

  • You Look Good!! I have wanted to be a girl, would like to have that experience! Would like to be pretty, wear dresses, girly clothes, outfits, high heels! Have wanted to know what it would be like my whole life! Good Luck to You!

  • Me too But nooo i wouldnt want to be a gurl i liek being a guy ITs soo easy and fun! But yea gurls are pretty lucky! ive alwways thought tomy self when i saw toy commercials dats the guls had moe toys and more clothes and better ones and more accesoies adn shti liek dat but yea! And guls have it easy! But not the pat were they get there period ive seen my sister must be painfull :P

  • Hi you look great, right now iam a cross dresser but have long known iam a girl in a guys body (have known since i was about eight) do you have any tips or anything i should know? please email me if you wish.

  • well i have advice im 20 and jus finished all my therapy sessions....my advice is if u wanna be a female is go get ya biz takin care of now.......now im in the process of my name change......

  • I'm so very glad it is working out for you my parents would never understand why i would want to be a girl and i come from a mediacla family.

I've always felt i was a girl and should be one for real. i just want to be who and what i am inside and out female!

  • It's nice to see things like this. I am a gay male and I would think a person born a male that became a female would be into men. This showed me that that is not necessarily the case.

  • i think you're right about the split within the gay community when it comes to transgendered people and i think it's just so WRONG!

aren't we always fighting for acceptance, why would we separate/discriminate within our own community? a lot of people don't seem to see the T in LGBT and it makes me mad because i cannot see the difference between us and i don't get why other gays don't (want to) understand that!

ps: you're a beautiful woman and if someone gives you shit, ignore them!

  • Yeah I know exactly what you mean. Its really disturbing how they can be all against sexist and racist discrimination but but unsure with trans people. Good thing I do not encounter them often though lol.

  • heh, I can one-up ya.

    I'm asexual.

oft ignored, hated, or shunned by the LGBT community.

  • @waldoman7

So true. because you expect more acceptance by the LGBT community, but often it's not the case...

  • Good for you. I am glad that you are moving on and enjoying your life.

  • Both parts of this series: it's fantastic to see such sober and insightful commentary on this subject. Love these two films best wishes for the 'stars' and the producers of this.

  • Great video. I really loved the honesty in this interview. I loved how she said, 'I haven't really changed. I still do this, I still like that...'. I think there's a lot of pressure out there for trans folk to feel as if their world has to change. She was really positive.

  • Amazing video!

  • I'm glad I decided to scroll down the messages to read " I'm the filmmaker not the person in the documentary" Thanks for the post.

  • yea, 100,000 views!

  • omg

    she said Beachwood

    is this in Cleveland?

  • yeah!

  • I know what you mean about acceptance in the lesbian/feminist community. Younger women seem to be more accepting than those from the second wave. I have no desire to ever go to Mich Fest but it bothers me I'm unwelcome.

  • Very good coverage of the transgendered subject.......I just hope the vast percentage of brain dead people within society gets the message that we are likely more normal than they are. Well done, you produced a fab video.

    Alex. x

  • so why is her voice high

  • she had to learn to talk again, you have to be really dedicated, but she did so awesome.

  • She has such beautiful hair. Great documentary!!

  • Interesting documentary and intelligent.

Also, great songs from Air :p

  • transgeners rock man! LUV YOU ALL!

  • you are such a strong person and i admire that. do you think you are a happier person now than you were when you were a kid growing up?

  • i am the filmmaker, not the person in the documentary but i appreciate your comment :)

  • I'm the person being interviewed.

  • I've always been the type of person to focus on the fantasy and been just concerned with "getting off" but, if this was you, I'm more respectful of people in the community and very happy that you've got the support that's so lacking in the world in general. Thanks very much.

  • you don't like trans

  • If I met you I would never guess you were bornmale. You look like a natural woman.

  • Brilliant video. Its wonderful to see someone who's so eloquent and open talking on the subject. 5 stars.

  • This sounds almost identically to my story. Though I never had a dream about being a girl that changed who I thought I was. I had always thought of myself as a woman. In addition to this, most of my family just found out and they have been supportive though somewhat shy about discussing what I feel with me.

  • You are truly an inspiration to me! I am at the beginning of my journey, but would love to look as naturally feminine as you someday. I am pretty sure I will be able to, but it seems like such a huge mountain in front of me right now. Thanks so much for the video. You are special.

  • Yes- very nice! I think that the murky waters between male and female and all the other possible genders seem to frighten those who have blindly accepted their assigned and perceived gender roles. The GLBT community is leading the way out of the dark dungeon.

  • Elegantly expressed and eloquent.

  • I am a big supporter of the transgender community, and am curruntly struggling with the thoughts and feelings of not being the right gender. Search The Cliks, great band with a very cute transgendered lead singer/guitarist

  • Is this a true story?

  • I find this woman, very inspirational. To be so open about this. If she could hear me I would clap.

  • what if she was deaf

  • I've never had a problem with trans/homo/you-name-it sexuals, but she is so lucky she passes as very authentic. I can't think of another person I know who wouldn't stop, stare and comment about an individual they couldn't define a gender for simply by looking at them. Hopefully this growing exposure to the media, with films like Transamerica (which I made my parents watch), will open minds across the globe. These things take a great deal of time, but are worth the wait.

  • i tried to tell my mom i was bi not transgender yet though .... she didnt believe me though so i lied at the end and said im not someone HELP ME plz shes not homophobic ,biphobic, or even transphobic but she didnt believe me someone replay to me and try to help plz

  • you video is very nice and educational.

  • Hmmm...she's a little TOO convincing, lol. Maybe she was born a woman? Nah, just kidding. She looks very legit though.

  • I myself have had dreams, thoughts and feelings but fear, age, height and lack of knowledge has stopped me from proceding. So as a M I live a kinda false life. Be proud of yourself because I'm proud of U.

  • You should be very proud of yourself. Myself... Well thoughts, dreams and feelings are there but fear and persecution stop me. Great vid and live free.

  • Off Topic: She Looks EXACTLY Like The Girl From "MY SO CALLED LIFE" With The Red Hair, That's Amazing, I WOuld've Never Guessed If She Portrayed Her In An Interview Or Something

  • good to see this i have a neice who i feel is gonna go through this she has never been comfortable in girls clothes and i totally look at her as a boy and not girl

  • live life how u want...u are im asuming that ur in USA..

and ya u do look well u could fool me..

  • well you look and sound like a female :) i cant imagine ya as a dude.

  • Great video, wish I passed so well as you.

    Tracy xxx

  • Good honest video, I know the feeling, been going through it since I was 7. xxx

  • Thanks for the honest discussion. It must be hard to open up like that.

  • great video im miss transgender

  • miss transgender here all done three years later great viedo

  • Great video. Thanks for making this.

  • Sorry I made a rude comment about another of your videos. But I didn't know.See how good you look and what a good job you do.

  • what other video did you make a rude comment on?

  • Excellent, you express yourself very well..........

  • i feel your pain

  • great open and honest video

    thanks

  • Nice easy to listen too video nicely presented. Hugs Petre x.

  • Great Video, doco, very well done , thankx !!!

  • Very well done, on par with history channel documentaries! Great lighting, and homely atmosphere!

  • Good work

  • Very well done. Done with honesty and respect.

  • Very well done and accurate. Not everyone passes like her, but there needs to be more positive examples. So much comes from within. I would have liked to see what is wrong when she stands. Looked ok to me.

  • God bless them.

I have been married twice and I have never been that sure about anything. It is hard most people to understand that.

  • BIG HUG AND KISS 4 ALL T GURLS & BOIS...peace & love!!!

  • speaking as an F2M individual...it is so hard to pass. i have high T levels as it is without treatment, but it's still very very hard to pass. i don't personally have huge trouble passing, though. But this woman is beautiful and brave!!!

    kage

  • she is lovely and smart and brave

  • a main reason that women dont go to men is that it is really hard to get somone a penis.

with men to women they prety much "cut it off" to sum it up in so many words.

  • She is cute and "passes." Nice voice too.

  • there are like NO TRANSGENDER MEN.

there are way more men to woman op's than woman to man.

its not that more men wish to be women its generally the same, i think woman think they will get judged more or something if they have the op. BE HAPPY. DO WHAT IT IS THAT MAKES YOU FELL COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR BODIES.

  • publicly, there are more mtf. i think its because ftm people pass more easily than mtf. testosterone is a strong hormone and has a lastly affect. so when a ftm person transition they don't need the support of the community. thanks for the comment!

  • Also, there is no such thing as a penile implant. Seriously. Males can physically convert to females; with breast & a vagina. However, science has not developed a working penis implant. True story. You'll never see a fully female -to- male convert.

  • You're cute and brave - a role model for transwomen!

  • damn u r cute

  • Your face is fine but you should change your seating stance a little, shoulders pushed behing, back straight etc.

I too had a dream about being a girl and it was one of the best dreams ever, but then again most of my dreams are awesome, when I wake up I think about them for the whole day. I just wish I was smaller in height, I'm 5ft 10" or 11" it's annoying being tall :(

  • i wish i could have courage to change my agenda?

but, unfortnately it will never happen, becouse im from afghanistan.

  • great documentary :D

  • this program show's that transgender people are no diffrent to all of humankind, we are all people, like myself I am not a homosexual but i am transgendered that mean's i feel i was born in the wrong gender but that does not mean all transgendered people transition so stay in there birth gender but that's does not mean there not still transgendered.

  • this is amazing, youre so lucky you have such naturally feminine features. you were probably gorgeous before your tansistion too, i bet.

  • Great video. I wish I could grow out my hair like you... but I can't cause I'm in the military. :(

  • that looks like a girl i know

  • you might. we live in the same area (hope this doesn't sound creepy haha).

do you remember when i messaged you about a trans project i was working on?

  • not off the top.

    but i think so

  • Can you offer any advice, im ts and feel i have to transition soon, im 51 and have big hands and deep voice, ive attempted suicide 4 times and been hospitalised 10 times since i was 17 and im very shy, i just want some happinness before i die, ive put this off long enough i promised myself i will come out this year.

  • you deserve happiness, go for it! there are so many people out there in the same situation, find a support group in your area and go from there.

    good luck

    x

  • i agree with alabamacherry. there are many trans support groups where you can find people with similar interests. also maybe you should talk to a therapist? they can really help (just make sure you go to one that will support your transition). and if you ever want to talk about something particular - just private message me. i'm here for you.

  • Now *that's* a nice documentary.

    Thanks.

  • Nicely done. Hope you are happy as I am, I am 8 years post op 24/7 over 10 years now and would not go back for anything. You are correct few in the gay community understand us any better than the general public.

  • 3 thumbs up!

  • I agree, gender is only one thing about you. Out of thousands...

  • Good program and some interesting topics. I transitioned when I was 24 years old in 1975. I am a post-op transsexual woman and have worked for nearly 33 years as I am (female). Both transsexuals in this program are good representatives of this issue.

  • That was a beautiful video.

  • If you were talking about another subject, I would of thought you were a genetic girl.

  • Definatley...Amazing
