I shoot videos with a SD MiniDV tape camcorder. I use my NLE, Pinnacle studio 14 HD Ultimate to edit, add titles and other things, click make movie, set the settings to make a MPEG2 1080P video file. I upload this to youtube no problem.
Thank you so much for sharing this information.. by any chance do you know how to upload non hd? I have been trying, using the info that UBUTE provided, and it isn't quite working.. thank you.!
Can you make a tutorial on videos like DVD and Blue-ray quality. I have a Blueray ripped to my mac and I want to take a 7 min scene from that video and upload to youtube in HD 720p or 1080i best quality possible and with less file size like under 200 MB
Things get a little hairy when you make a quicktime film and then paste audio (aif) into it and re save as a new film. You could then turn the audio into and MP-3 and upload, but audio isn't so big to worry about, and you can never use quicktime pro to edit a movie that you added MP-3 sound to. (cutting, pasting, etc with Mp-3 content) The audio will fail completely in an upload. (I'm using Intel Mac)
For a video that actually shows you how to make an account, make a video and upload it to youtube in a format that youtube allows, check out my channel! I have had good comments about it so far! :)
when i import my 1080 x 720 films it always has the black bars on top and it only has fullscreen when i import 1920 x 1080 but that hurts the quality? Please help!
SOMEONE PLZZ HELP!! I did what he said and my video is wider than it should be i checked the item properties and its 1480 by 1080 hd but it looks normal in 800 by 600
Thanks a lot for your tips, they helped me a lot. You posted your video two years ago, but it is still very helpful. Great video, easy to follow. Thanks again. The Champion.
Update: VERY happy to report that your advice worked 100% perfectly and first time! I have a slow connection and the upload took two hours, so I'm extremely grateful to you for helping to achieve this by blazing the trail for the rest of us. I'd buy you a drink if I saw you :)
Thank you so much for this information, it looks really useful! I'm about to upload a video and I needed to be sure it would work. One question though: Why 44.1kHz audio? Is that important? Most video is done with 48kHz and that's what I work with - why would it need to be changed? YouTube is so quirky...
@videogamerforcod5 Yes it is, i had one too, The best thing is that allows you to shoot in 24fps to make it look filmlike or 30fps to make it look videolike :)
Awesome video!!!! Good job :) This problem was extremely frustrating for me and I spent hours trying to figure out how to solve my problem. Your crystal clear instruction allowed me to finally upload my video in a matter of minutes. Watched it twice, took some notes and SUCCESS! Far superior to any other instructional video that I found on YouTube about this problem. You are a Godsend!
This is a great video you just saved me a tons i was uploading choppy video and couldnt seem to figure it out thank you so much for taking time out to make this!
I dont understand i have a canon vixia HD but when i look item properties it says square aspect. and as far as i know im recording in fxp mode 17mbps :S. Why does it says square aspect and not HD?

Hey man, I just bought a FLip Ultra HD Video Camera. My concern was how do I upload a video onto You Tube from iMovie 6 (old school i know) HD.
