  • I shoot videos with a SD MiniDV tape camcorder. I use my NLE, Pinnacle studio 14 HD Ultimate to edit, add titles and other things, click make movie, set the settings to make a MPEG2 1080P video file. I upload this to youtube no problem.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this information.. by any chance do you know how to upload non hd? I have been trying, using the info that UBUTE provided, and it isn't quite working.. thank you.!

  • awesome. thanks!

  • WOW thanks a lot man, i just started using final cut and your instructions (written and spoken) were better then youtubes!

  • For some reason, Vimeo doesn't recognize the video clip on my desktop.

It's only 218.1 mg..????? Trying to upload from my Mac. Youtube recognized, uploaded, (90 minutes, video was 3;00 minutes long..)and it looks great!

    Any thought on this??

    Thanks,

    Ron

  • Can you make a tutorial on videos like DVD and Blue-ray quality. I have a Blueray ripped to my mac and I want to take a 7 min scene from that video and upload to youtube in HD 720p or 1080i best quality possible and with less file size like under 200 MB

  • Things get a little hairy when you make a quicktime film and then paste audio (aif) into it and re save as a new film. You could then turn the audio into and MP-3 and upload, but audio isn't so big to worry about, and you can never use quicktime pro to edit a movie that you added MP-3 sound to. (cutting, pasting, etc with Mp-3 content) The audio will fail completely in an upload. (I'm using Intel Mac)

  • what kind of camera did you use to make this video?

  • Thank you. This was very helpful!

  • For a video that actually shows you how to make an account, make a video and upload it to youtube in a format that youtube allows, check out my channel! I have had good comments about it so far! :)

  • this video is stretched....... how reliable are these pointer?

  • when i import my 1080 x 720 films it always has the black bars on top and it only has fullscreen when i import 1920 x 1080 but that hurts the quality? Please help!

  • SOMEONE PLZZ HELP!! I did what he said and my video is wider than it should be i checked the item properties and its 1480 by 1080 hd but it looks normal in 800 by 600

  • thanks

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU SAVED OUT LIFES!

  • Thanks a lot for your tips, they helped me a lot. You posted your video two years ago, but it is still very helpful. Great video, easy to follow. Thanks again. The Champion.

  • Thanks for the great video. It worked for me! Check out theflyingsubmarine

  • Update: VERY happy to report that your advice worked 100% perfectly and first time! I have a slow connection and the upload took two hours, so I'm extremely grateful to you for helping to achieve this by blazing the trail for the rest of us. I'd buy you a drink if I saw you :)

  • Thank you so much for this information, it looks really useful! I'm about to upload a video and I needed to be sure it would work. One question though: Why 44.1kHz audio? Is that important? Most video is done with 48kHz and that's what I work with - why would it need to be changed? YouTube is so quirky...

  • thanks so much

  • OMG DUDE YOU ARE A FRICKEN LIFE SAVER!

  • you are my favourite person in the world.

  • @videogamerforcod5 Yes it is, i had one too, The best thing is that allows you to shoot in 24fps to make it look filmlike or 30fps to make it look videolike :)

  • Thank you!!!!!!!

  • Many thanks from sunny Scotland. You have explained the process extremely well and I uploaded a band successfully as a demo.

  • EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank U so much!!

  • Awesome video!!!! Good job :) This problem was extremely frustrating for me and I spent hours trying to figure out how to solve my problem. Your crystal clear instruction allowed me to finally upload my video in a matter of minutes. Watched it twice, took some notes and SUCCESS! Far superior to any other instructional video that I found on YouTube about this problem. You are a Godsend!

    THANK YOU!!!!!!

  • WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF 720P FULL HD IS 1080 I SHOT IN 1080 SO WHAT SHOULD I USE

  • Nevermind to my question, I found the answer. FCE only works with AVCHD files if it is an intel based Mac. I had to buy conversion software to convert my .m2ts files to .mp4

  • Thanks for ur video. However.. can you offer any suggestions in my case?

I have a Sony HD camera, which records HD video in file formate .m2ts

I also am using Final Cut Express HD, wich will not import my HD files from my Sony HD Camcorder. Has anyone tried this and have a solution?

  • @zymurg2007 you still need help with this? i can help.

  • @TheTasteTester Thanks.

My MAC is not the Intel based machine. It is th Power G5, although I do have the FinalCut Express HD version but I cannot use my HD video (.m2ts) files. I have been using Cyberlink PowerDirector 8 on my PC instead because can't use Mac without Intel.

  • thank you. This video was very helpful to me.

  • Hey man, I just bought a FLip Ultra HD Video Camera. My concern was how do I upload a video onto You Tube from iMovie 6 (old school i know) HD. I mean I knew how to do it, but it always played back really pixilated! So after watching other peoples You Tube videos on "how to" let me just say that yours is by far the best one. I followed your directions exactly, and had awesome success. Can't thank you enough for posting this! Again... Thanks man!!

  • i never restricted the download will my video still appear in hd? and how long does it take

  • how did u put a live type title on the video...u just putted the video in live type? and then put it on final cut?

  • export from livetype as a movie and drag it onto the time line in Final cut (one of the timeline tracks above your main video clips. Thanks for writing

  • @BIGGlittleBROTHER Thank you very much :D

  • Well i just tried a small test and it worked!!! Sorry to sound so surprised but the "out of sync" thing on "all" of the other tutorials I tried kept happening, I've got my fingers crossed once I upload to youtube it will work its rendering the full file now.

  • This was helpful. Does uploading usually take a long time for you? I have a pretty decent internet speed and it can take up to a couple hours for my video to upload? Any thoughts?

  • Thanks for this :) I'm on Imovie 08 and it worked perfectly! HD from Iphone 4. I thought I just had to hit the share button in Imovie 08 but that didn't get the HD format. Very annoyed I started searching and your vid came up. Awesome!
