Thats why in the movie when the people are riding in the cars and there first dinosaur was this one, the dilophosaurus. They said at one time they though it was friendly and a herbivore. Then they said it was a bi polar dino and is poisonous. That goo is supposed to temporarily blind its prey so it can kill it.

He just didn't count on the weather sending him off course. He also didn't suspect anything could've happened in 15 minutes.

The whole movie is a disaster compared with the book. Characters were changed, scenes changed - like this! Original it should be:

"Nedry fell to the ground and landed on something scaly and cold, it was the animal's foot, and then there was a new pain on both sides of his head. The pain grew worse, and he was lifted to his feet he knew the dinosaur had his head in its jaws, ..." - Everybody can read it in the book and the book was the first, not the movie ...

You forgot the part where Nedry reached down blindly to touch the ragged edge of his shirt and then, a thick slippery mass that was surprisingly warm and with horror, he suddenly knew he was holding his own intestines in his hands. The dinosaur had torn him open. His guts had fallen out. If they had shown that, this film would have been rated R instead of PG-13. Just my two cents.

not correct at all. read the book. they say in it that they had no idea that the dilophosaurs were poisonous until they spit on several workers and blinded them. and the frill was more than likely a display used for mating, much like today's frilled lizards. i highly doubt, if this were real, that the frill was simply caused by DNA from todays frilled lizard being mixed in with the dinosaur's DNA.

first of all, you're wrong again. dilophosaurus was commonly 10 feet tall. it's impossible to know whether or not they could spit poison. they very clearly had the crests on their heads and in the ground surrounding dilo fossils there has been imprints of where frills were. do your research before you try to sound smart.

the discoverer of Dilophosaurus witherii himself even said that the skeletal structure of Dilophosaurus would make it impossible to spread a frill. I know my sources, I'm studying so I can go into Paleontology someday, so back off pal.

Dilo was 20 ft long and not 10 ft tall, T. rex was about 16 ft at the hips and Allosaurus was about 13 at the hips. Both Allo and T. rex towered over a full grown Dilo, so 7 ft tall is more like it.
