@bennettjamin I realise you posted this comment a month ago, but if you're still wondering the answer is to go to your menu - settings on on this page, bottom right hand side is the option to 'Show Ability Icons' that gives this effect.

Nice vid, cider. For all new to this stuff, like me - very helpful.

For the Bringhurst encounter - not sure if someone has mentioned it before - as a tank with voidknight abilities i was able to dispell 3 of his damage buff stacks with "spell sunder" i am pretty sure other classes can do that too.

@ScottySniper93 Sometimes if your group can't do enough Damage Per Second, you lose by mechanics. For example, the boss at the end of Runic Descent will hit the whole zone for 11 million damage if you don't kill his adds by the time he finishes casting a spell.

@AK47extra I suppose you've beaten every raid and dungeon on tier 2 settings and own a level 50 of each class then? The graphics are better than WoWs will ever be, thre's much more to do in game than WoW with the rifts, and who cares about addons? This game exceeds WoW in every way. You just seem like a fanboy of WoW, or someone who's never played RIFT.

Apparently, He has 3 air-phases: at 75%hp, 50%hp, and 25%hp.

We had it twice like that, either I am right, or we were extremely lucky to have them at thoses moments.

When you know that, it's even more easy to know when to go away from him.

That is incorrect. He will fly up in the air at a certain time mark from when he lands and after he uses flamebreath. That mark is not fixed in seconds but rather has a margine of error. To test this we have killed him first time only after 2 flight phases (we were GSB geared hance dps). Second time we have lowered our dps and we've let him fly 5 times. On a side note it seems that once he is on 15% of HP he will no longer go airborne. Hope this helps :)

Hey Ciderhelm my guild from WoW recently moved over to rift and we were wondering if there were a damage meter in or out of game so we could see how well we were doing, it's extremely difficult to see which soul combos are best for us when we don't know how well were doing @_@......Thanks

Ciderhelm, again on the scarn fight, you can stack up, count to ~3-4 after he lifts off then run and dont ever stop moving.

Curiuos. Ciderhelm are you tanking in warlord? And wandering if you get annoyed as I do when tanking multiple mobs that you can't see enemy healthbars above all enemies heads instead of just your target. I've kinda adjusted to it but sometimes real hard to find one that got away

I do not play Rift (or WoW anymore) but I still watch these videos and will remain subscribed. The music, Ciderhelms voice, the pretty graphics. They all make me feel so calm. Reminds me of when Ulduar was progression content and we couldnt down council, then I watched the tankspot video and got a few tips from it, we cleared it that night. Thanks so much for all of your work Ciderhelm and I wish you luck in the future.

99% of these fights look incredibly boring. Imagine doing this when you're undergeared, it'd be rinse of repeat of abilities for aaages as you slowly dps him down

@Warlocksrule666 I could make them look epic, etc., but this is a guide video. The goal is to help groups in there. 5-mans from WoW are as pitifully boring to watch as these, but in both games the experience is much different when you're in the encounters and not overgeared for them as our group is.

Are 5mans really a fair comparison to a games premiere raid content, though? From what I've seen of these raid encounters, they seem to have mechanics comparable in complexity to WoW's 5man heroics.

@dezarrlol Look back at the very original WoW, and its 5 mans. Stratholme, Scholo, and then all the Black Rock mountain instances. Those weren't very complicated, because WoW was brand new. Same thing with Rift. In addition, they do not SEEM overly complicated, but some are more then they seem in the video.
