get one here... plasmametalcutter d o t c o m you'll pay less than FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY FOR IT AND FREE DELIVERY , you'll also get a heavier rated torch than what shows in this video
Beautiful! I just tried out our plasma cutter yesterday and I am in love! I have a question, I am actually touching the metal with the tip of the cutter, is this bad? I cant seem to get a steady hand yet unless I do this. I guess it takes practice. So far I made a mermaid for the bathroom and a Halloween wind chime for the kids.
some tips are called drag tips and you have to touch those to the metal. They usualy have a more bluted tip than the normal ones. I think dragging the tip is fine as long as you don't have the amps too high.
Nice, I have always though of getting a plasma cutter, but I don't think I would use it much, and can not justify the cost. I need to cut some dog silhouette out of 3/8" plate to make book end holders for my sisters birthday, I might give it a go free hand with my cutting torch, or pay to have it cut on a CNC plasma table or water jet machine.
They are expensive but the prices are comming down. Luckily I managed to get this plasma cutter for a big robot statue and it didn't work when I first got it. but I changed the plug and it turned into a light sabre.
anything over 250 degrees is scary . but what are you talking about? is that how hot the arc is? it only gets that hot on a pinpoint you can actualy touch the metal with your hands almost right away because it dissipates so fast.
I make a plasma sculpture of a great big P E N I S ! -It CAME out beautiful. :-)

what size & kind of metal is that you are using?
Also, are you using 2 diffrent types of cutters? One sounds quieter then the other, what kind are they?

@RawkStarrPrincess
well when you touch the tip to the metal it
burns it out a lot faster then if you keep it
just barley away from the metal, try using
your left arm as a base instead of having
both hands holding the gun in the air
hope this helps :)
