@CrappyFilms202 Thanks....I always thought that anyone who knew who Zevon was, was cool, and that anyone who played his songs, was cool.... so, in order to attempt to be cool too, I did, and I did.... its cheap, I know... but hey.... A gorilla at the LA zoo, snatched the glasses right offa my face.... Lol....
Please could you attempt to explain the first riff? I'm intending to learn the song for private performance, and would like to be able to do that bit right.
I'll try.... 5th string is open... an A note, put your first finger on the third string on 6th fret... 2nd finger on the fourth string at the 7th fret. This an A major chord. If you then put your 3rd finger on the 3rd string at the 7th fret.. you have a little D chord with an A in the bass... (open 5th string).
Strum this by starting with the little D chord and bouncing your 3rd finger on and off the 3rd string. The last chord is an E made at the 7th fret. Hope that helps.
Yes..... when you are doing the strumming, try to mute out any notes that dont fit. For instance, when playing the first A chords, mute the low E string with your thumb (left hand) and only try to hit the 5, 4, and 3rd strings on the strum.
very cool.

Is that with standard tuning?
