Good guide, but the problem everyone is having is scorpion gulch will re arrange often, actually most of the Mojave will (at least for me, maybe its because I'm playing the unpatched one on ps3) But I noticed that 3 or 4 times when i reloaded my saves, the entire layout of the gulch would be different, same thing all over the game, great guide though :D

the anti-material rifle if u have gun on 75 or 100 it should be a 1 shot 1 kill on giant rad scorpion or just have ur compainons kill every scorpion best combo for me is 2 have brotherhood of steel power armor and having lilly and rex or veronica and rex eaither way best combo well for me that is if u think u have a better combo reply.

@StupidStuntsMonkey For the armour you need to find Arcade Ganon, in the Follower's fort thing in Freeside, go around with him for a while and he'll ask you to help him with something, do that, finish his quest, you get the armour, well should, he either gives it to you after he comes back from his thing or before he leaves.

wow i put more work in than needed. I went further into a valley that had two swarms of scorpions and saw a body and two cliffs, one with a grave site. ended up going to a town to get a shovel after not seeing the pistol on both rocks and in the grave...

if you can't find the pistol you made this mistake: when you get the "quest" you first have to talk to the paladin at the firing range he tells you which initate had the pistol for the last time, then talk to the initate (he is in a classroom where normally the teacher is talking to nobody) after you talked to him tell him you will find the pistol and then it is at the rock with the body.

Awh, can't find it. Cleared out the scorpions with my dinner bell, and weren't even in the valley when i did, so i'm very sure i haven't blown it away by mistake. See the corpse, and checked both of the rock places, even tried that whole valley just too see if it was any were else. Any idea what might have happened, or just one of the famous New vegas bugs? :P

Dear everyone, do NOT, I repeat do NOT try to be cool and Archimedes the place before searching for the laser pistol. While you do get to epically kill any scorpions in the area, the laser pistol tends to move when it's giant blue counter part cleanses the place; and by move I mean you waste 45 minutes trying to find the stupid thing because it got blown off the rock and landed only God knows where. Had to eventually go back and do it again when I activated Archimedes, the pistol was GONE.
