Around people heading up NORML for 10 yrs,this is the attitude I got from them too. I know it is ALL BS now. I remember smoking with this norml guy. We were watching 'Intervention'. I mentioned how I was glad mj was never on the show because I truly felt and believed it was medicine. He said, "Yeah I think it's great they buy that this is medicinal" I couldn't believe my ears. So you decide to try and scare people. Nice. And it will work for most of my lifetime too, but it can't last forever. Not in this day and age, technology has made education and informed population more and more prevalent.

What I'm saying is we just discovered (again) that cannabis, a plant that has no reason to have been made illegal in the first place, could be the ultimate medicine. We as a nation put up with a nonsense prohibition law for 50 years, found out that what was being prohibited was actually such a good product that it was hard to even believe, spearheaded its necessary use as a medicine, continued to put up with the bull shit prohibition, and now you can see that it will soon be legal.

Please someone show me one bit of actual scientific EVIDENCE that shows the negative effects of chemical delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. Good luck, you'll need it.

So to answer the question of weather the medical marijuana and legalization movements are synonymous; yes they are.

The cannabinoid receptor system was discovered only 20 years ago, yes everyone has naturally occurring, beneficial neurotransmitters in their bodies that are nearly identical to THC.

Every single scientific study that has inferred the negative effects of marijuana beyond it's carcinogenic possibilities has been speculative, set up with improper controls, draws causation from correlation (which is not possible in research) and has often been tainted with obvious experimenter bias.

You can't deny that many powerful people, involved with aforementioned corporations, and in high offices of government have lied about cannabis before. Can you?

Crime rates would then go down , requiring cuts in the amount of law enforcement officials needed. Think of the incentives a significant portion of the population has for fighting legal marijuana.

But the biggest factor is the lying. There are proven cases of politicians, law enforcement, religious leaders and various other government officials blatantly lying to the public about the dangers of a plant called "marijuana."

The extent of the possibilities of this plant are unknown because research has been restricted worldwide for over half a century.

If the cannabis were completely legalized world wide, there would be no need for fossil fuel companies, coal companies, pharmaceutical companies, plastic product companies and the majority of the timber industry would be rendered obsolete. Couple that with the fact that clothing companies would lose profits because products would last longer.

Here's just a rough list: food, cloth textiles, four times as efficient pulp for paper, beauty products, oil, the world's most efficient fuel, fertilization, particle board, biodegradable plastics, an absorbent material and a pesticide.

Oh yeah, It's also the planet's most efficient and least researched medicine, effective for: nausea, glaucoma, migraine headaches, all types of moderate to severe pain, mental tension, AIDS symptoms, skin diseases, appetite loss and possibly even freaking cancer

Cannabis will be legalized eventually and you have not researched all the facts and falsities that go along with the 110 year history of this nations military industrial corporate strangle hold on a plant that is its own economy. The truth is that cannabis is the best source for a majority of the world's most vital commodities and corporate greed machine doesn't want too many of the cogs finding that out.
