We all know Zardari is a bad poltician who was put there by Musharraf but at least we have the chance of seeing a system evolve. Treason means disloyalty to nations sovereignty and Pres. Musharraf did not do anything to put Pakistan's sovereignty on line. I have no clue why would you blame Pres. Musharraf for the current government? As far as I remember, there were elections last year and people chose PPP representatives as their leaders. I am going to reiterate that you have a fix bias against Pres. Musharraf and you censure all ills on him, whether or not his fault.

Look, I dont have a personal rapport with our former president nor do I have a clandestine grudge against you. I like Pres. Musharraf, you dont, and I get it. How can anyone be respectful to people who kill innocnets,break laws and act above everyone else- be it an illiterate dictator like Musharraf or the crminal terroirsts who bomb innocents. They all think they are above the law and have the right to take over illegaly. A crminal deserves to be charged under the law of the land- if you want to be kind to criminals, terrorists and illegal dictators who are trying to destroy Pakistan I can only wish that Allah gives you Hidayat. Do you even bother to ponder over this 'name calling' and without taking sides that what Musharraf has done to billions of people that they call him names. Do you really think he is an 'unsung hero' ... tell me what reason you got to like him, beside the fact that you like him. Please don't justify his crimes just because others have done something like it. I know "patriots" often present zardari in comparison ... but do you know what majority of people call Zardari ? Neither do I have a persoanl grudge against you but I do hate Musharraf for shaming Pakistan and having the world compare us to a Tin Pot dictatorship and Banana Repyblic- that all happened since we allowed a dictator to illegaly take over, undermine institutions and bring terrorism/instability. I guess I ust love my Pakistani nation and the vision of the Quaid who speaks of a modern progressive democratic state based on the rule of law and constitution. The Quaid was a constitutional lawyer.

If you look into the legal and official definition of treason it means going aginst one's official oath. When Musharraf went against his official military oath to uphold the government and constitution, he committed treason. This is not unique to Pakistan but in the constitutions of most states. The difference is that citizens in other nations understand treason and will not tolerate this. We have sen what we got in Pakistan when the nation let a clown dictator like Musharraf commit treason.

I don't think one really has to take some oath to commit an act of treason. Where are you getting these official definition from? Breaking an oath would more be like a broken promise. I still think Pres. Musharraf did what he thought was in the best interest of our country. In fact most Pakistanis supported him up until the Lal Masjid incident and then the worthless lawyers became the biggest issue on earth. Well, none of us will change his mind and so I will leave this discussion at that.

What you don't understand is that Western military officers swear and oath to uphold the consituttion and laws of the land when they are commissioned in the military.When they break this oath or overstep their power,they are disciplined. That's why US President Truman kicked out MacArthur when he overstepped his role and interfered in political decisions. In developed society chief of army is the elected President or PM. Why dies this concept of treason sound so alien to our uneducated populace?
