  • those are some nice squats, but try not waiting so long inbetween reps

  • @Woody9985 HES GASSING BRO. jesus christ you retarted? 220lbs 20times at 150ish is crazy.

  • @wanadorm no, but obviously you are if you cant spell retarded right... good try

  • he had to move fast through the last reps because santa was asking to work in

  • try getting a weight belt and wrapping your knees in bandages. I have heard it is easier if you do that

  • wow that was impressive... high rep squats are so miserable

  • beautiful set bro. Stay on that grind, and eat a lot, you'll get there.

  • Somebody was sore the next morning.

  • getting shit done

  • tough guy man

  • good shit!

  • How long have you been squating?

  • with glasses on too, nice lol

  • HOLY SHIT YOU GET SO LOW THATS AMAZING

  • HOLY SHIT YOU GET SO LOW THATS AMAZING

  • WTF!? bro how are you doing that? im like 150 pounds ish and i can only do 209 lbs for 7 reps and your doing 225 for 20 and making it look easy!?

  • Don't look up. Keep your neck in line with the rest of your spine. Your wrists should not be bent under the bar. Try low bar squats... The weight should fully rest on the rear delts and not on the arms. pull your shoulders back to create a "shelf" for it. If you don't have a copy of "starting strength", pick one up and you'll see what I mean. On your last couple of reps it looks like you rounded your back. You should have stopped after about rep 17. Other than that, solid.

  • @jeo8243 Dude these squats were fine. You seem to be over analyzing it

  • @JordanSpecops123 No, they weren't "fine." If you think I'm being too picky then why don't you go post this video over on startingstrength and see what Mark Rippetoe says.

  • @jeo8243 startingstrength is for powerlifters who need assistance. Olympic squats are much more functional for the human body

  • @JordanSpecops123 haha -- you are as funny as you are misinformed. A quadriceps-dominant squat (as olympic squats tend to be) does not do you any favors in terms of functional strength, nor does it do your lower back any favors when depth comes at the expense of rounding the lower back,as it must since the knees are not shoved out. Further, to state that startingstrength is only for powerlifters is silly b.s. You clearly have not read the book.

  • @jeo8243 Okay. His back does not round. If one already has enough knowledge on functional strength training/powerlifting, then they don't really need to buy the book. It mainly for people starting out, hence the name 'starting strength.' I know it is a really good book, however many of us olympic lifters favour the high bar squat as that carries over to the olympic lifts a lot better. K have a good day

  • Excellent and very good failure set. You need to EAT more food, you probably do that, but because of your *assume* fast metabolism it's hard to gain weight unless.. I repeat.. you start eating like a horse...

  • Ouch don't kill your back, 15 would've been totally respectable. That's still 7 more than I can do at 225 deep and I'm 170. What's your 2 rep max, 405?

  • @samsacount Woah, that last rep looked dangerous. How much did u gain after 6 weeks of this? Did u do it just once a week?

  • looks like a high bar squat too me no ? i think this is easier with low bar squats (less strain on lower back), so you can maintain proper form until the end. awsome job though

  • How much weight do you increase when you every time you do the squat workout? I can squat 165lbs x 6 reps now. How much longer do you think I will get to 225lbs squat?

  • BADASS!!

  • at the end there it looked like he just roled off a hot piece of ass LOL

  • respect

  • Excellent 20 rep squats are the best

  • why bear footed?

  • all u fags can't squat. you all go down wat to fast just so u can do heavyier weight. form of weight nad Im not just talking bout how it looks. You need to control your movement. Go slow down. That shows power and control not like the squats 99% of people do.

  • @7burnitdown

Lol, are you even strong enough to squat a weight 200 pounds under your max? Do you know what that feels like? He's descending fast BECAUSE he is has the power and control to do so. Would you recommend someone descend slowly even while doing body weight squats? Warm ups? Don't be a cock.

  • @RedWildz I am actually but and I have better form. all people care about nowadays is how much weight they lift. who cares unless ur form is flawless. you could easily squate a plate and have correct for, and motion and get a nice stretch. Obviously you wouldn't go slow on warmup reps but if you want to rip your muscles then going slow would def help and even with lower weight. I bet going down fast like that is terrible for your joints

  • @7burnitdown How about you shut the fuck up?

  • awesome job for your weight dude! also keep eating big and drinking milk, once you gain some size on your legs, ass, and torso, ATG squats become 10x easier. you have less distance to go down, and the added weight makes the rebound more effective.

  • best squat on youtube! hehehe imrpessive effort!

  • LMAO!!!2PLAET!!!1

  • you embarrass me as an asian and your parents must be ashamed of you for being so stupid...terrible terrible form...keep working out like this and you will end up crippled by the time you are 40

  • @poofactoryful lol butthurt. awesome job samsaccount

  • @poofactoryful retarded troll

  • Title should be ATG 20 rep 225 squat. Very impressive.

  • Great effort!

I wish I could hit that weight on widowmakers but I almost died doing them with my bw.

    What´s your 1rm?

  • this is good stuff. nice deep 225 pound squats. he goes to absolute failure but doesnt fail!

  • strong

  • Nice but I would've stopped at bout 15 but real good job for your size.

  • wow man well done, but should've stopped after 17. nontheless.. respect.

  • great form good job and hard work

  • the definition of REAL DEEP SQUATS

  • respect!

  • what does squating workout jw

  • @CraziMEXICAN96 Quads, Hamstrings, , Glutes, and Abdominals, core muscles, abductors/adductors, calves as stabilizing muscles.

  • one thing tho . . . i didn't see the followup set of light dumbbell breathing pullovers, nor the downing of like half a gallon of milk after the workout. whats up with that??? ;-)

  • excellent, dude :-) great form, ass to calves deep as ALL squats should be, and an impressive weight for your bodyweight. It's nice to see that great ironbug is still flying around and biting the younger generation.

  • Good depth but control the negative better, there's two parts to any lifting movement.

  • @SoooBlue he goes down exactly how i go down, and there's a reason: the fast decent WITHOUT a bounce at the bottom causes a sudden constriction of the fast twitch muscle fibers for more push-up power whereas going down slowly tires those same fibers out too quickly which equals less total reps. it's not like he's doing a concentration curl, dude, these are 20 rep squats ;-)

  • @JesusFingeredBabies Well it depends on what you're training for. Maybe my original comment was ignorant as he's probably not training for size. He's obviously built like a 13 year old girl. But, if you're training for power, my principle on the negative still applies, you'd resist slowly and explode upwards, so I've no idea what you're getting at. He's obviously not training for power either, as he's extending pretty slowly and he'd train with a more suitable weight.

  • @SoooBlue Untrue. He could actually be training for size. Google the 20 rep squat program or Squats and Milk Program. Old school method used by a lot of lifters to pack on pounds.

  • @TibetanAlkmist If he was training for size, he SHOULD be controlling the negative. End of.

  • @SoooBlue to each his own.

  • Amazing at 145lb! great depth too.

  • That was close. But you did it. Congrats!

  • Beast !!

  • never would have guessed you could squat

  • That was mean...Nice and deep, pushing over 1.5x your own weight is incredible. Hope you are still at it. It's a life journey man

  • My leg's hurt just watching! careful with that back, one bad squat CAN last a lifetime.

  • ya last one the back not straight, spotter is needed. should have left it on the safety rack next time. i only go slightly below parallel... can safely push in the last rep without risk of injury

  • Awesome job seeing those high reps other than the last one but I've got small legs to and do 225 16x an I'm 5'9" 150 pounds but people underestimate us small guys

  • Nice solid strong squat , but even know mucel takes up less room than fat and your very lean I just dont see any real solid size in your legs. Not that it proves anything and you do look like your in good shape just would never guess that you hit the weights , even Bruce lee had a lot more size than what his weight was at.Still good job , I just would if any what suplements your on .Do you take growth harmones or roids at all if you dont mind me asking .

  • @shampoo02 no, I don't take any growth hormones or steroids. If I did, I'm sure I'd be stronger. ;-) I supplement my diet with whey protein now and weigh around 160, but that's it.

  • @samsacount Oh well thats good , keep up with what your doing it seems your on the right track.Good luck with everything , take care.

  • @samsacount if you did take steroids, you would not be stronger, you 'd look scarier.

  • Impressive man. Not sure what your stats are now, but I am 5'6" 145 in the morning, and I can only do 205 on the smith machine for 6 reps per set. Judging from vids on youtube, I have a pretty terrible squat. Encouraging to see your lift, though. I feel like I should be doing more...

  • keep it up, very good form

  • 2:11 is a reason why you shouldnt go that low on your squats

  • @ChristianPatterson

i think he's fine going as low as he was...I also squat ass to grass. I just don't think he should have even attempted the last 3 reps without a spotter.

  • idk I never go down that far but I don't see anything wrong with it, more power to ya bud, looked real good. nice set up you got there too

  • holy fuck those are some deep squats

  • HE GOING DOWN TO MUCH!

  • that was mad funny.

  • awesome.

  • Wow that's really impressive! I'm 170lbs and I can barely do 225lbs 12 times!

  • Dude I'm 185 and I can barely do that. good shit.

  • @bigspotify by the way Im 6'4 for everyone who will give me shit about my weak squatting

  • Damn those were DEEP squats! Rep!

  • damn that beast dude, how did you develop so much leg strenght? I'm a 150 lb asian like you but I can only squat 135x15 =( any suggestions on getting stronger?

  • i do that and im 170lb. props bro.

  • Very impressive. Good to see you don't wear a belt or shoes, and that you don't take any supplements. And that you go low. Also, I think you are right on with drinking milk.

Lol, all in all, I'm the same, and about the same size. I wish I had you as a workout partner. Keep it up.

  • Many thumbs up! Deep and real ! It's so rare you see a video of someone ACTUALLY SQUATTING DEEP...from one deep squatter to another: many props

  • THAT'S HOW YOU FAIL.

Way to fuckin represent. YAAHHH NICE.

  • Wow!! Same weight as myself, but you're stronger! Amazing ATG squats!! Great job!

  • Great work. I've been doing squats for almost a year now, but I didn't really start doing them with the proper intensity until recently. I thought I did good tonight doing 135 x 21, which was the first time I'd ever attempted 20. My max is horrible for my weight (I'd estimate 285 at 206 pounds?) 225 x 20 at 145 pounds is pretty well insane.

  • thas fukn amazing man ass to grass

  • good effort dude but you are going below parallel with the thighs esp in the beginning

keep it up its all about pushing yourself

  • The next Frank Yang

  • AWESOME hip and knee flexibility dude, power is great. What're you squatting now?

  • Dude, Congrats! You are 145lbs and can squat 225lbs x 20 = very impressive. I can squat 185 x 5 sets of 10, not even 20 straigth yet. I can squat 225lbs x 5reps one time only when i do squats though. I think i have to increase my carb before squating, but im one question: what tip can you give me to be able to do 225bs x 20, which is my goal my right now?

  • dude you will never grow muscles because ur asian.

  • @poxy84 ive seen many huge asians

u feel good tryna bring ppl down?

  • @poxy84

    Another ignorant trash. Go slit.

  • @darkdiablo888

    go play pikachu retard

  • dayum, i LOLed real hard at the end but WOW, how the...???? those legs dont look like they could do 225x10, holy shit!

  • that's a solid 20 rep squat, I'm just starting 20 rep squats, but I've been working out for 4 years, and im 200lbs, and I can't squat as much as you, that's insane

  • "tips on how to stand up straight near the end of the set will also be appreciated." lol bionic legs I suppose.

  • fucking respect holy shit that was awesome

  • one word. heart.

  • go get bro! love those last two reps! I was cheering for you even though it was a video!

  • How do you prevent back pain? I am 5'7 125lbs ( I know I'm skinny )

I'm still working on my 225lbs max. When I do it, my back hurts really really really really really bad. Can you guys give me some tips?

My leg is perfectly in tone which I feel no pressure what so ever doing it. The bottleneck of my workout is lower back pain.

  • ill always remember the dismount

  • That. Was. Awesome. At your size and from how old you look, that was an unbelievable set. Major props man.

  • Wow, man. You are mentally as strong as your physical capabilities. Ultra impressive video! I shall snoop into your account and see what else ya got.

  • lol diz shit is crazy imma post my own vid tommarow , i weight 155 and i squat 250 since u guys also count the weight of the bar

  • you sir... are a fukn machine. good work :)

  • you ever think about getting weightlifting shoes? I high-bar like you, and I've been thinking about it. Supposedly helps high-bar squats a lot.

  • In-fucking-credible. I just did 165 for 20 today and collapsed as you did. I couldn't imagine doing 2 plates for 20! I can hardly do that for 5! Great work man

  • you had NO mental clogging!!!!! that was awesome brother!

  • yeaaa buddy...love the 20-rep squat! I think of 'em as 4 sets of 5, makes it easier for the last five reps.

  • Nice fake plates man. What are they, plastic? LMFAO. You are so fake!

  • @kayjohnson25 Your uneducated fool, go troll elsewhere this guy is pro.

  • @kayjohnson25 dude they arent fake man

  • can you give us your progress videos

  • i think i heard ur spine crack on taht last rep. what was that sound? doesnt look safe to me to be honest, especially with no belt on.

  • they look a lot like goodmornings a note of advice try pushing more with your hamstrings and glutes and raise your shoulders as fast as your butt (thats really imporant) - otherwise keep it up!!!

  • That was crazy at the end. lol

  • Your squat form is great. Good job!

  • this is awesome!

  • so boss.

  • BEAST MODE!!!!

  • your a strong kid for your weight, good job and keep up the hard work!!

  • thats what you got to do if you want big legs...push yourself to the limit :)

its good to see somone else that goes down to atleast paralell

  • You should eat properly and get results. Your form is nice but wasted effort if u don't eat.

  • @marxistsoldier squatting 225 for 20 reps at 145lbs bw seems like a pretty decent result to me!

  • @micsimus 225lbs x 20 @ 145 bw is very, very, very IMPRESSIVE dude, not decent!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 165bw and can do it (ie 225lbs) 5 times and 205lbs 10 times with 3 reps, but 185lbs 5 sets of more or less10 reps.

  • impressive!

  • where did you get those squat bar safety catches? i need those, since i only have squat stands at home.

  • @mycrx89

i bought those TDS safety stands off ebay

  • i like the jimi hendrix music in the background

  • good job!

  • dam, thats impressive for being 145lb. i know guys who might be able to do 185 for 10 and they are 20-30lb heavier then you are!

  • ur prolly stronger and more informed now,but athletic shoes would help, and it is unnesesary for you to be squating that deep.your legs should be at a 90 degree angle so your upper legs should be parrallell to the ground.nice work though

  • did the same, 225 for 20, but im 185 pounds :P

  • that wuz awesome! ... way to push it!

  • excellent, i am up to 265lbs for 20, goal is to get to 315, but I weigh 185!

jealous of your gym, rack directly under the air conditioner, genius

  • my nigga you the shit dc for life

  • you should have put deep squat not just squat lol, going just parallel u could prolly push out bout 25

  • Love the depth. I can only do 225 12 times right now. I weigh about 220. Want to get to 20 reps.

  • nj man but that last rep/re-rack was fucking hilarious

  • props to you man, i did the squats and milk program for 4 weeks because rugby season cut it short... but i'm 185 and i only got to 15 reps on 225. keep up the hard work.

  • Awesome job. I wish I could get 20 out at 225 and I weight about 180! I'm jealous as hell lol. You look to have a high bar position, have you tried squatting low bar? I find I can get more low bar. Excellent determination too, pushed yourself right to the end! Keep going!

  • Thats pretty damn cool. How long have you lifted for? What squat stands are those? Im looking to buy some. Thanks

  • of you - something big will become. Regards, squatter with 10 years of experience.

  • @kraftsportNO

i hope so. :) thanks for the words of encouragement.

  • You should roll your arms as your coming up helps alot.. im 15 and can squat 410 twice

  • @devdev7721 woo ur cool i can squat 410 10+ times

  • @devdev7721 woo ur cool im 15 and i can do 410 10+ times

  • @MrMuffins1000 wanna cookie

  • @devdev7721 if thats my reward for being stronger then u then sure

  • that last rep is so painful to watch u fuckin idiot lol

  • Hell or high water you got your 20 reps!!! great great great effort!!!!!!!

  • I can only squat 225 like 5-6 times and i weigh 150. I can't even go past parallel with that safely

  • good shit dude, I just did 225 for 20 today and I weigh 210. how many can u do with 315?

  • @fuckoff187

congrats. how'd it feel? i hated them. haha...

i just posted a video of me squatting 315 since you mentioned it. i get two with what i think is decent form but i got sidetracked and only started squatting again maybe about a month ago. my 1RMs really depend on how i feel these days 'cause i'm so inconsistent. i have more fun doing 1-arm dumbbell snatches @115 and throwing a 200# sandbag onto my shoulder. i'll post a video if i can get a 250 bag up but i need more sand.

  • i squat 300 my bad dang, i forgot this guy is smaller and i never checked his side bar to see his weight

  • this is not safe without a spotter, but damn good shit.

  • not to be mean but i dont understand y ur almost dying?thats not really hard to do ha

  • he weights 145 you idiot and hes not even a hardcore lifter you should praise him

  • Have you squatted 80 pounds over your body weight 20 times?.....ouch

  • Thats not really hard? You obviously have never squatted 1.5x bodyweight for a set of 20.

  • That looked dangerous

  • Nice work man. Pound for pound very strong.

  • epic grunting sam

if voodoo child had come along earlier dont you think you could have had have better form?

  • i was fearing for ur life at the end there hahaha dude ur strong, i outway u by 50 pounds and i dont think i can do 20 of those

  • tough one! good job.

  • WTG!

  • very impressive

  • lol i laughed so hard at the last rep. but damn man i wouldnve never though you could have even picked up the bar when this video started...lol...good job.. and whoever does the 20 rep squat is truly a MAN! RAWRRR! :)

  • Tremendous man. You are a warrior.

  • Great job man, lol at hendrix at the end.

  • great set, great form, and great determination. i think i am going to star doing 20 rep squats, the heavy atg suatting is really gettying to my joints. i think ill just do below aprralelo 20 reps. i think ill try 210x20 next workout. my best sets are 220x15 and 235x13
