I have written applications for non-digitizing touch screen kiosks running Windows 98SE and beyond. Basically you have the hardware, driver, and application. The OS has very little to do with it.

Refute my statements if you must but this just looks like an example of Microsoft hyperbole.

@onanidaily In addition to window management and UI which have been improved for touch, it goes back to the difference between touch and supporting touch. Windows 7 has lots of built-in features that help applications develop with touch by doing the heavy lifting. Window messages like WM_GESTURE and WM_TOUCH are great examples of that.

It's not to say that touch wasn't possible before Windows 7 came along, just that Windows 7 helps support developers and users as touch applications expand.

Well my Sisters fiance taught me the basics, like how to build a computer, and install software, and how Os X and Windows both work. (he was non bias.. he hated both)

yes, I couldn't get it on my Pc due to Dvd limitations, but I helped my family install it on their Macintosh computers, it is notably faster, but the only difference in usage generally is the added applications and the 64bit intergration. Its a step up, but for me, not in the right direction to bump up Os X near Windows 7 with ease, and comfort of usage, and content.
