Sorry this is not a tornadoe its a water spout. Water spouts are often not caused by tornadic weather. Tornadoes cause major damage I grew up in socal and now live in tornadoes alley. I have seen both waterspouts and tornadoes and they are very different imo. They are both dangerous and can be deadly though. Great video.

Thanks for posting this! I heard one in foster city that morning while studying. Thought hum that doesn't sound like any normal plane I usually hear. It didn't make sense to me because it was in the water in sf but now it does. I was trying to look for a word for it tornado or hurricane because they were both words used for land bound whirlwinds, not in the water. Members of the church went to the beaches to pray and it didn't happen in Feb but it came a little last week and then my mom told me to take the day off yesterday when she got more warnings on Sunday that people thought it was over and something would happen again.

I'm about 99.9% certain that you shot it from the living room window of an apartment I used to live in for 5 years. It's not a funnel cloud once it touches down. It's generally called a tornado... but because that funnel touched down on water, it is a waterspout.

WOW....we had one touch down here on the Mendocino coast in 1998, starting as a water spout then hitting a mobile home, several trees, tore down our bank sign, ripped out a few more trees, then stopped abruptly before hitting our hospital's ER.....this is a wonderful video of this water spout!
