Aww, JLH was sooo cute! She was so tiny and just adorable! And her voice was so awesome for such a young age. She was amazing then and she is amazing now :) I think it's so cool to think about that Jennifer Love Hewitt and Fergie knew each other and were friends long before either one of them was famous. I mean, not famous for who they are today. They knew each other before Stacy Ferguson was "Fergie" and before JLH was well-known. That's pretty cool :)

How types of shows were like these in the 80's? I remember mickey mouse club, were there more? I remember a show called Young talent tonight Does anyone remember that show? I think it was similar to this, they did skits and covered songs. I think they were in the late 80's. Wow what a time. I would do anything to go back.

Thanks for posting this video! What memories! I was a HUGE fan of KI back then and on August 3, 1989, I finally made it to the KI set! This song was the first one they did that day. You can barely see me a couple times in the audience. It's just as well--I was so excited I couldn't clap to the beat of the music! There I was, in the P*lace! And I swear Devyn and Love both kept pointing right at me when they sang "you." :)

That's amazing! I'm a huge huge fan of Jennifer Love Hewitt and I want to meet her so badly. It would've been so amazing to see her like you did, pepnjen. And I love Kids Inc, so going to one of their performances would've been amazing! I couldn't though, for several reasons. One, I was born in 1989, so I was much too little, haha. Second, I live in Sweden ;) And to kidsinc67, I'm sure she was really tiny. She was only 10 years old (and so adorable!) :)

They might've also been trying to get Devyn and Love more noticed because they knew it was Stacey's last season, so they kind of put her in the background to get people used to not seeing her as much in the spotlight. I like 89 pretty well, as well as the other season where it was Love and Kenny, and all the new faces, but after Love left, I had no reason to watch it anymore. Stacey, Ryan and Love were my favorites. And they were all gone.

Yeah the last two seasons just don't stack up to 1984-1991. 1991 was only good because 1. Love and Kenny were very talented, and 2. because they introduced Anastasia. Anastasia is, to me, the only good thing about the last two seasons becasue she had a powerhouse voice. I think its interesting though that Devyn didn't come back in 1991. I think she was the same age as Kenny so the whole aging out thing doesn't work. Maybe she just didn't want to, but that's surprising.

Ana had an awesome voice, there's no denying it, but I didn't like her too much, she came on Love got shoved in the back :( Maybe they didn't want Devyn back, maybe they knew Devyn was not very popular or maybe she herself didn't come back for that reason. I read a lot of comments from KI vids and I've never seen one person say they liked her. She did have a great voice though.

As far as the aging thing, that shouldn't've stopped Stacey I mean Ryan left when he was 18, same with Martika. When '89 came out she was only 14. '91 Would've placed Stacey at about 16

I know, it's pretty strange. I don't know Ryan's age, but I guess he was as old as Martika or so. Martika left after season 3, when she was 17. Stacy left when she was only 14, but then she had been on the show for 5 years and none of the original cast members were left. Maybe she felt it was time to move on. I don't like that Connie and JLH were on the show for only two seasons each, though. I mean, Connie was 11 in her last season and JLH was 12 in hers. They certainly weren't too old. Hm.

Ryan was 18 when he left. He's 4 years older than Stacy. Depending on when her last season ended she was either 14 or 15 when she left. But yeah that's a possibility that she left because none of the original were there anymore. But Ryan wasn't as original either, he came on a year after the show started. Who knows why Stacy quit. I doubt they (the producers, execs and directors) let her go, she was too popular.

Yeah, that's true. Maybe she didn't think it felt as fun anymore since none of Jerry, Martika, Renee or Rahsaan were there anymore. She was the last of the originals. And yeah, Ryan came in season 2, but still, he was there when Martika, Renee and Rahsaan all still were too. I'm sure Stacy liked it with this bunch too, but she probably missed the originals (and Ryan). Maybe it's as simple as she felt that it was time to do something else and that 5 years on the show was enough or something.

Yep. She probably was just ready to move on. It would be kinda hard for her to miss Ryan though. They were dating in this season, I think they started in his final season. So she still had him at least. I hope that when they broke up it was a good break up and they were able to stay friends. I missed the old cast to. JLH was the only one who kept i bearable after Stacy left. And when JLH left I couldn't watch it anymore. I had no more favorites on the show.

Yeah, exactly. She probably just felt that it was time for her to move on. I didn't know that she and Ryan were dating. That's cool :) I hope it was a good break-up too. I'm sure they're still friends, I'm sure (and hope) they all are :) I know exactly what you mean. My favourites are JLH, Rahsaan, Martika and Connie. When none of them were left (so like you said, after JLH left), I didn't like the either. I still liked Kenny, but it wasn't enough. I had no more favourites left either.

Actually Stacy left because she aged out and could no longer up hold the Kids Incorporated image. I'm not sure why Connie, Devyn, Richie, Kenny, and Eric left. They could have stayed longer.

I disagree. Ryan was not 18. He was 17. Stacy was 14 but you're right that Connie should've stayed. Connie has a myspace. you can ask why she left. kenny left to do other things. Rashaan was 14 as well

It was mostly because of age and experience, I felt - although Rahsaan got a few solos.

It at least helped '89 from being less popular.  Everyone knows and loves Stacy, while they barely know Devyn and don't know Love yet.

Interesting that in this season, Devyn and Love sang a lot together, while Stacy got a lot of solos. Reminds me a lot of the famous five (Ryan, Martika, Rashaan, Renee, and Stacy) where Martika got a lot of the solos, and the others dueted a lot.
