I heard it fairly often during this past winter on The Weather Channel, but couldn't recall who made it. I just happened to think of Donald Fagen's "Snowbound" when I saw this and wondered if the Rippingtons had a version of that song. What a great surprise to see that it was this song...one I've wanted to hear again for such a long time. :D
I have good memories that came to mind while listening.
@Smooveastouchvideo12 I would recommend installing the clip get. It allows you to easily download mp3 files directly from youtube with high quality for free!
Funny i still have this cd been listening to the Rippingtons since 1989 and i'm 24 yr old now. I will have to contest and say much of there music was better in the late 80's and early to mid 90's. Love it with Mark Portman,Steve Reid,Jeff Kashiwa, and Russ Freeman
i love this song it plays for days in my mind after its over...i guess thats because i play it every day...it reminds me of when i was married to my husband who passed away in 1993...I have since remarried but this song brings him back to me so strong and so poignant ...I love my husband but I do miss my Al.
@bronze1914 you still keep him in your heart. that is very very sweet. he must have been an awesome individual. god bless him. he may have his eyebrow up looking at you cause u remarried lol but so long as he see's that your in good hands, he's happy.
the number one smooth jazz band in the world! i know there's spyro gyra, yellowjackets, fourplay and old school like weather report and crusaders, but this guys are the s---!
You have no soul if U cant dig this music on some level. Im a 25 year old black man and I don't like to listen to rap EVERYDAY. my tastes (musical and otherwise) have always been different from those around me.
LOVE THIS, MACEWIND1 !!! I know it's called Snowbound, but I love playing it around sunset, and driving down the coast till the first stars come out and the moon rises. Thanks for helping relive the good times..
@macewind1 Thanks Mace hey have you heard of Ernie Watts if not check out a hit of his from the 80's "Music Prayer For Peace" its from his lp "Musican"
@macewind1 - the Rippingtons and their like are my refuge in the current tempest of musical crap! My tribute to the world's great musicians is an ever-expanding music history channel with over 500 playlists so far. Featuring most genres, they span the globe. 111 lists let you hear any year's music since 1900 as if you've stepped back in time.
I added this to my 1991 playlist & thinking I need one for the Rippingtons themselves, like I have for over 300 other artists.
This song is blissful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Russ Freeman is really up there on my best guitarist list. When I first heard him I thought it was Peter White. He really holds his own; great.

This is a great Ripp's song. It's impressionistic, and, as usual, I love Russ Freeman's guitar playing.
