I watched this and it is not (Chicken / sulfur mushroom ... not yellow) ... it is not Oyster.... so you can call it what you want cause I don't know this one at all
To be sure you need to do a spore print. Then look at the spoors under a microscope. A good book to buy for identifying mushrooms is "Mushrooms Demystified" by David Aroria
Some people call them hen of the woods. The orientals call them maitake ! the scientific name is polypilus frondosus. It is a pore mushroom rather than gills. Meaning it has holes in the bottom, rather than slits like most species. I have gathered hundreds of this species. What alot of people dont realize is that in any givin species there can be quite a bit of variation. Especially in color ! I suggest you watch my video and you will see this exact same mushroom species and color
i cant idenifi it but i can tell you this it may be do to the fact that wich people dount understand mushrooms can grow t anytime of the year f the suronding enviermet is right and whena mushroom grows out of seasen it will look a ittle diferent someitmes.
Why do Americans have to give such long boring introductions. The title says what your going to talk about yet you go through it for over a minute. No wonder people get confused.
@culturedprobiotics hey if i send me a email i send u a pick will telll me if these are oyster ones i dotn no because i only pic candle stick and coleflower ones plz help
It does seem to be a black staining polypore. By the time I got the guts to try and eat some, it was pretty much past its prime. I hear its edible but not the tastiest mushroom in the world.
Meripilus sumstnei, or black staining polypore. Notice the black spots on the underside when you show the cut up specimin. My guide says edible. Did you try to eat any?
hmm do they grown near trees because maitoke are parasitic mushrooms and grow near trees

it looks like chicken of the woods. they are good to eat. not sure so dont eat them.
chicken of the woods grow from the base or trunk of a tree. often an oak tree.
they are yellow gold, grow large and in groups like hens and chicks.
