@TheAlecDangerProject - Always Zildjian (except once that I have seen in his later years he had a Ride by I think Sabian) -- 20' Ride, 16" Thin Crash, 16" Medium Thin Crash, 6 or 8" splash, 22" China -- the specific type/model varied, as he regularly had new cymbals, but this was his general set-up. Check out Zildjian's website, they used to have the set-up on there.

Based on an interview I saw a while back - Buddy's daughter (Kathy) said that when he finished this performance, he exited the stage to a waiting ambulance. (For those who don't know, he had a long history of heart isssues). Apparently he was experiencing some chest pains, etc.

Believe it or not, when Buddy Rich first burst onto the scene he was considered too radical.

Times change, Travis Barker is at the summit of the drummers mountain so to speak (he has developed all the same skills and tools as Buddy Rich) and in another 60 years we'll be hearing the same shit about some new hotshot drummer not being as good as Travis.

But, if any modern drummer can be compared to Buddy Rich I would personally say Thomas Pridgen. Sure, he's not as famous as Barker but his playing style echoes Rich's so much closer than Barker's. If you look at solos from all three I'm sure you'll see what I mean!
