Awesome circuit bend! I don't find the color all that bad, fact it seems to fit the synth well! Know anyone doing bends in America that could do some bending on my Polysix? By the way anyone else hear the owl in the background!?!?
As you seem quite knowledgeable about polysix mods, I wondered if you could tell me if it's (easily) possible to switch in another (lesser) synth's keyboard in place of the original polysix one. Mine has half the contacts not working and tried cleaning, the paint on stuff is doable but I read mixed results, I have a JX-8P keybed with keys and wondered if, in your opinion, it was relatively simple to mod it to work?
I've done mods so I'm O.K with electronics etc. Thanks
@realityfakers Also have other available synths I could steal the keyboard from (as the polysix is more important to me right now), also I thought if it were possible, I could rig the 8P's aftertouch to interact with the polysix (not as aftertouch as obviously it didn't have it) but maybe to trigger some function, mod, bend etc so that it effectively ends up like retro fitted aftertouch. Would be cool as would fix key prob + added bonus! :) thnx
Hi there, I'm afraid I didn't document it as I sort of made it up as I was going along. I did'nt use pots on the vco-vcf because calibrating it would have taken forever, and I wanted the effect to be the same across all six voices (I did use fixed resistors in line with the switches though). I did contemplate a filter input, but I couldn't figure out how to have one input going into the six filters without creating crosstalk between them.
I imagine that if i could get it to work then one input going through six keyboard controlled resonant filters may sound similar to, but not quite the same as a vocoder! So maybe if I get another Polysix I will try that. Also it may be worth me trying to add a feedback control to the chorus/flange/ensemble section. I am still desparately looking for another polysix at the moment. Maybe I'll try a different colour next time!
good thing thats just your opinion.. pink is something i see with my eyes. what i've heard in this video reaches places in my brain that i didnt know were there .. he;s proving in this video that the polysix is 100 percent analog, and exploiyted that as well.. ..
LOL! That's the coolest shade of vagina I've seen in a long time, it only needs some black shag carpet on the ends! (I'm a sick bastard, aren't I?) But what the heck, I have a pink Douglas Shadow guitar (maybe it needs some black shag carpet as well)! Nice decal and/or stencil work, looks good enough to be a commercially produced item as is! Mod sounds are really great too! Great job!
Thankyou, The Kenton interface was partially installed when I got the Polysix. I got the lot cheap because it was not working. The Kenton interface alone would cost nearly £400 if they install it for you. A cheaper and easier to fit option has just become available at WorldWideWeb(dot)chd-el(dot)cz they do a Polysix MIDI interface for only 79 Euro!
Cool, love the mods you did to it. Some of those are pretty trick!

@PimpinBassie2 Hi, I used Waterslide Decal Paper, do a search and you can find out all about it.

I quite like the pink, but it would look much better with dark wood panels.

Nasty colour but excellent mods.
Do you have some documentation about the mods somewhere online?
I think it would be nice to have pots on the VCO to VCF controls. Want to build!
One more thing, an external filter input would be fun...
Nice Jarre song on part 2...
Greetings from France!

unison with the half of the oscilators modulating the filter is really fat and nice.
I think the metal switches that you installed don't fit the overal look of the synth.

You should have kept that opinion inside your crack-rotten half of a brain.

that is just brilliant.
Possibly the best mods I've seen for a synth in a long time.

thanks for your reply, so they print the sticker for you or they print it directly on the machine?
analoguesynth 3 years ago
Hi, how do you print the words on the Poly Six after you paint in to pink? Are they sticker or you print it yourself?
analoguesynth 3 years ago
Hi there, I printed it myself on Waterslide Decal paper. Have a look at craftycomputerpaper (dot) co (dot) uk, They should have everything you need.

If they gave out a Nobel prize for synth mods you would be the first recipient. That P6 is AMAZING!

Nice job done! Although I prefer the original color on my Polysix ;) But I certainly consider building MIDI into mine. Is it difficult?
