  • Symphony of Fire is always awsome but on this night it was spectacular! It was S. Africa that was on display... oh and Mother nature of course!

  • nice vid nice sound...long live queen and the best fireworks r free

  • lol i was there for 3 weeks visiting.

    the lightning was huge.

  • its not normally like that. But it was pretty cool. (I thought) Mostly rainy here in Vancouver.

  • really nice, but Just a question... Why did they light a fireworks on that day? There is something special to comemorate the 25th of Jul.?? I'm not Canadian that the reason why I ask...

  • Every july/August we hae a fireworks competition between different countries. Its called "The Symphony of Fire" because th VSO plays while the fireworks go off. South Africa was o display on this night. Other countries hatwere there were , Canada, USA, Spain. Its an awesome event!!

  • @fredkatell

We do it every year just because...;-)

  • @marvellenews

Hi! I'm just wondering, are lightning storms like this common in Vancouver? Or Canada for that matter? I live in Texas, and we only have thunderstorms in the summer, but they're huge. Just curious to know if Canada was the same way. I want to live in Vancouver when I grow up ;)

The lightning shots are absolutely beautiful! It's even cooler that the sky is blood red and orange while the lightning is flashing. It has an eerie/awesome feeling.

  • @0appleattack0 In Vancouver no. not at all, our biome is not accustom to lighting and thunder storms. but we do get them occasionally. As far as Canada is for storms. The prairies, and Ontario get tons of storms.

  • I will never forget this either

I was right at the border where the dark met the light on the water.

    It was breathtaking beyond words.

I got 2 light shows that night though I have to say that the natural one was something I wouldn't even be able to dream of

  • I was there it was magic. Too bad they didn't use the Highlander soundtrack for the fireworks display music simulcast!

  • so beautiful

  • I worked as on of the ice-cream venders there and it was amazing! Your video is awesome, my pictures don't have so good quality like yours!

  • Omg

this video send shivers down my spine. I was in north vancouver that day, it was AMAZING !!!!1 the sky was mezmorising !!!!!, one of the best days of my life, an awesome holiday. awesome video

  • @mybdayisoct1

    Thanks

  • I was at the Maritime Museum watching the fireworks, I'll NEVER forget the colour of the sky, and the ridiculous fork lightning.

  • That particular storm was a very rare event in Vancouver. Normally thunderstorms here consist of mainly sheet lightning with cool temperatures. This storm, however, had continuous fork lightning that kept striking everywhere plus the heat was unbearable (this storm preceded an extreme heatwave). The sky in this video is accurate. In fact, from where I was (in Coquitlam) the sky appeared blood red.

  • These videos just go to show how Mother Nature can out perform humankind anytime but sometimes shares in the dance of Life and performs in tandem.

  • Nice..........Well said!!!!

  • great video!!!

  • Cheers!!!!!

  • Wow what a great video.... I would have loved to have seen the storm but I was getting married that day.... it was neat to be dancing and haveing lightning and thunder adding to our music very special as somone has told me to have the earth rejoice with our marrage
