Love the Goldberg Variations and this is great arrangement and an accomplished performance.

However - and this is just personal preference - but for me, it lacks the purity of the Glenn Gould interpretations, which for me are the Gold Standard. Just a little too passionate for my liking on the Aria.

This is superb. It's interesting how almost any Bach works on almost any instrument, provided the musician is skilled enough to handle it.

It's rather like how you can get away with setting Shakespeare's plays in times places far removed from those in which Shakespeare designated that they take place, in way you really can't with (say) Chekhov or Shaw.

Last saturday I've been to a concerto of Joseph's and I was absolutely amazed. The movemente of his hands is so natural and fluent even in the most technically challenging passages. And music is always in the center, not technique. Beautiful

Es increible que una obra con una estructura tan compleja pueda ser reproducida fielmente en una sencilla guitarra, solo basta con escuchar la variación uno para darse cuenta de ello. ¿Es posible que alguien pueda proporcionarme tan valiosa transcripción, o darme alguna dirección donde pueda hallarla?

Guitarra, instrumento de extrema complejidad.....no tiene nada de sencilla...los luthiers fabrican instrumentos musicales...los músicos transforman sus sonidos en música...y los instrumentos permiten que eso suceda...y si lo es con Bach o como Paganini (que aparte de violinista fue un extraordinario Guitarrista)....por tanto...y co n mi mayor respeto digo a UD. no trate a la Guitarra de " instrumento sencillo"...Chriss

No, this is a standard 6-string guitar he's using and that's what makes the transcription so unbelievably amazing.

Ops, I took a look now in the site of guitar player again. He's recorded the Art of the Fugue in a 8 strings guitar. About the Goldberg's variation recording is not told anything. Maybe because is a usual guitar ( 6 strings )
