Along with Charlie Cooke and George Best Ossie was a childhood hero for me.
Was lucky enough to meet him in Effingham, Surrey England at The Harry Secombe Golf Classic, this would have been in the mid 90`s, had a photo taken with him and he actually put an arm around me and was an absolute gentleman. Bless you man.
That diving header against the hated Leeds in the 1970 FA cup final remains one of my most enduring childhood memories. Forget now how many times we tried to emulate that skill and failed. Great player. Always my favourite.
Loved the man - favourite player of all time - my dad took me to see Chelsea in the late 60's, early 70's when Peter was at his very best. Always remember his volley against Arsenal,- sad loss to football - RIP Ozzy - you were truly the King!! - thank you so much for the memories....
ossie was a brilliant footballer, this tribute brought tears to my eyes,he really was a legend so many great memories we will never forget. well done!
i've not seen that shot @ 0:59 before. Ossie congratulated by Houseman for his goal in the fac final replay. Two great players taken too early. Ossie said Houseman made a lot of his goals
Again, not a Chelsea supporter but always had HUGE regard for Ossie, his sheer class was always obvious, great on the floor and in the air, a marvellous entertainer, R.I.P. Peter.
OUT OF THE SHED CAME A YOUNG RISING STAR, WHO SCORED PAST PAT JENNINGS FROM NEAR AND AFAR, AND THE CHELSEA WON, AS WE ALL KNEW THEY WOULD, AND THE STAR OF THAT GREAT TEAM WAS PETER OSGOOD, OSGOOD, OSGOOD, OSGOOD, OSGOOD, BORN IS THE KING OF STAMFORD BRIDGE!
Crystal Palace fan but Osgood an early hero. He had a swagger about him and was unlucky not to play more for England. We don't seem to trust anyone with too much talent
im not a chelsea fan, but a leeds utd fan, have been for over 40 years, i still remember 1970 fa cup final, lol, but peter osgood was a great player a true chelsea legend, R I P.
I've been a Man U supporter for 42 yrs but loved to watch Ossie play...he was a joy! RIP Mr. Osgood. Oooooh WOT??... Ivanovic just scored...gotta get off this site quick, bye!
Love this tribute. So detailed...even to the point of his photo fading into where his ashes are. Thank you for giving us this tribute to a true legend. Up The Blues!!
5 years today - and a beautiful clip, thank you - I'd not seen it before. If you want to mail me the clip then I'll upload it my channel too - this deserves to be seen. RIP Ossie

Who says we don't have history?
If you associate history solely with only winning then you are just as bad as a glory hunter.
