do you know how you can actually play with any character in single player? Well its simple. you just need to have 2 wii remotes. Then... you just choose the second player (who ever you want) and play with him. Just let mario be like he would't be there :P. I finished the game second time with that tactic. Simple... isn't it?

to get world 9 YOU need to get all the coins from world 1

actually you need to beat bowser to unlock world 9, getting the star coins just unlocks the levels.

@scootlink No, you don't. When you're on the map where you decide which level to play, you can press pause and add or remove a player from the game there. It's really usefull when somebody wants to quit while the others wanna keep going.
