i've seen kenpo bro i'm tryna learn it its real hard to understand but once you get the hang of it its pretty much freestyle and yes a .45 can drop a motherfucker but you don't got the balls to shoot a bystander go ahead and shoot a bystander and watch how badly your life will be fucked up
Un saludo muy cordial desde mi Dojo Artes marciales en Kansas Ciy, USA. Yo soy de oriundo de Cumana. Mi Dojo se llama Chago Karate International. Suerte
in kenpo theres a series of checks in case the attacker overtakes one. thats what your seeing thats why it looks like slaps unfortunatly not done properly it looks terible and uneffective, but you can find flaws in all martial arts, you say what the fuck what where they thinkin
yes kenpo could have some overkill moves but isnt nice to know that you can use it if possible, you over whelm the attacker, your creating a opening 10 shots and 4 effective blows vs one good shot then if the attacker blocks it then what? or he can take a punch then what ?
i hope that .45 discharges and blows your balls off or your kid finds it and thinks its some fancy candy treat so you cannot continue to polute the earth with your seed! with that said... karate is designed to put people like labhras99 down without hurting innocent bystanders
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a sport that works in a cage with one person attacking you not on the street when you are attacked by more then one person or someone with a weapon.
True. Jiujitsu is dangerous for instances in which you face more than one opponent. However, a kenpo stylist can not even fight a single jiujitsu opponent, let alone multiple assailants. First, learn to fight a single opponent (which you cannot do with kenpo) and then try to fight more than one.
The multiple fight is lame. You can not possibly use those techniques, because it's obviously controlled. On the street, they will do more than one thing.
Many years ago, Kenpo use to have throws and what have you in it. For some reason they were removed by Parker and his people. I bet Al Tracy knows that one.
I do not have the time, or the room to get into this here. But I tell you that if you contact Al Tracy who wrote something on this years ago, you might understand it better that if I tried to tell you. But just remember, you can call a car a boat, and its still a car.
Their beginners so go easy on them. Kenpo does have the "Overkill/overskill" thing going on with it.I'm just glad that we've change a few of the techniques to the 1-2-3 sawdust principle.
I would like to see stronger movment in a black belt test. I also don't like to see people start a tech over. That is something that I picked up from Mr. Jim F.
Obviously this is not the 'best' kempo seen. On the street, there won't be a chance to unleash 'colourful striking' to the 'nerve points' because the assailant is constantly moving, scrambling and panicking as well. Especially a guy with a bit of martial knowledge, they'd never just let you have your way. Also, never underestimate what advantage rage, fear or enough alcohol in the blood can give the assailant.
These guys are not performing Kenpo properly .This guy is sloppy. He is not pinpointing his strikes. All kenpo strikes are nerve strikes.Blocks are nerve strikes. There is soooo much knowledge to learn from this art it takes a lifetime. There is also ground fighting in Kenpo.
I hate it when ignorant people poo-poo our techniques. A: when your strike is actually landed with intent, your opponent WILL hesitate for a split-second. B: techniques are done in an 'ideal' situation to 'expand your library of motion'. If I'm attacked, of course I'm not going to try to come up with the 'proper technique' to run through, but I'm used to seeing various attacks, and can instinctively move for them and hopefully follow up with some of the moves that have become habit for me.
this art helps u with ur fitness reflex and agility, its ovbious that u wont use it as shown as this but it helps u at self defense u got a greater opportunity, plus u practice it everyday u wont do every kata as exact as it shows but it gives u an advantage.
yo men this is completely useless!!!! no one will attack you on the street like the students in the video, Kenpo is good for hollywood, it doesnt work in real life situations, try and defend yourself with these techniques in the street and you will be dead in 5 seconds
I have to agree. The techniques here work fine providing your opponents sit there and actually let you perform those combinations on them which we all know in a real life situation is not going to happen.
On the contrary we have several law enforcement students in our class. From Chicago Police, FBI, and U.S. Marshals, as well as a bounty hunter. It has saved their lives many times over. It's only as effective as the manner it's taught.
Kenpo is not useless. You haven't seen it performed correctly.Go see Jeff Speakman. He'll make you a believer. The guys in this video are not trained properly.I trained in martial arts all my life and when I trained with Mr. Speakman he showed me technics that Imobilized me in seconds.Don't knock what you don't know.Big David
men this is useless, no one in the street will atack you like the students in the video, dont try this on the street men, its gonna get you killed in 5 seconds, go against a boxer and he will knock you out, im sure
too much energy wasted. movements too wide. too predictable. i know your response to the attacks 1 second before you're attacked. real street fighting (or bar, or school, what have you) is caotic an that's the setting you will find every time. you won't find a trained opponent. you will find an angry, emotional, anxious, nervous, erratic, explosive, first attack and subsequent strikes.
PFFfff thats one dopy attacker i meen in real life you wouldnt be so relaxed when attacking somone. the moves need to be simplified why do fansy shit when you could knock them out with one hit i meen come on!
kenpo looks more fluid then shotokan it has fast hands like wing chun kung fu , kenpo is one japanese style im thinking of taking up becuase im doing shaolin now and i did shotokan , but also keep doing your thing some of these guys making comments arent even martial artist there just enthusiasts.
Kenpo just means the law of the fist which used to be translated as boxing... Therefore Kenpo is a general term. You must be refering to Chugoku Kenpo which is literally Chinese boxing. However, in Japan, Kenpo can refer to a large number of different systems of martial arts, mostly stemming from families in the feudal period. Some Japanese martial arts are surely related to Kung Fu, such as Karate, but let's stop saying that noone knew how to throw a puch or a kick in Japan before that ;)
hey yunkies you know your stuff i must say it look way batter then the cousin art of shotokan does kenpo encompass any ground self defence (like against brazillian juijitsu stylist?
@yunkies maybe this is the reason why kenpo 5.0 came out;which is basically jeff speakman mixing kenpo and brazilian jiujitsu which looks good though.
What I was getting at is it seems to be a lot of arm, a lot of flash, without much body behind it. Work on trying to get your entire body into the strike, employ as many of the power principles as you can to accent your majors, and stay loose. Good luck.
Thanks. The only problem I have with putting a lot of body into the strike is not hurting my partner. I can do this with fast hand movements (protect my partner) but with knee checks and other body strikes, it becomes hard. I will work on it though. Thanks.
I do agree with hyena. No disrespect at all but this would not fly where i train. your posture is very bad, u lean, your neutral bows are weak. At black you should be explosive, and spontaneous, you should not have to try snapping twig more than once. You look more like an orange/purple belt. Continue the heard work.
