John felt like the Beatles was his and that he was leader to break them up when that time came. Personally, I think John was being selfish and a clean break was certainly needed.

They put out an incredible canon of music that I am sure took a toll on each one of them physically, mentally, and emotionally. Hard stuff. John left a good enough mark with Double Fantasy and Milk & Honey to show he was still capable of producing anything decent. McCartey, on the other hand, wouldn't release anything half-good for nearly twenty years after Wings' break-up.

You could be thinking of the Yoko album, Yoko Ono/Plastic ono band, which was released at the same time, but only had yoko songs. Two seperate albums. Double Fantasy was not a Lennon studio album, but a studio album released by both Yoko and John (just take a look at the front cover it says both Yoko Ono and John Lennon on it).
I've read every book there is and seen every documentary and I used to live on Penny Lane (not that it matters!). It's obvious to see they were finished when you watch Let It Be. Paul was taking over but they all agreed to make one last album (Abbey Road) Paul wanted to keep them together, but John and George didn't. George even says so in the Anthology. Then Paul came out and announced the breakup At the same time his solo album was due out.

I'm just only joking :), Paul can play several instruments, and he sometimes played drums, in McCartney album, his first solo album for example, he played all the instruments. He is a genius but I like specially his bass and piano playing. And of course his talented voice, that's really awesome!

Like all jobs done on a regular basis, not every day can be realistically expected to be the same as a previous peak. Live is about the glorious rust and all. Otherwise play the record.
He's technically flat and raspy on some of the highs, but who cares, such is a live performance.

It's only the hardcore users who need to get the most out of it will inject it; heroin is usually first smoked in joints, then the next stage up it's smoked on tin foil where it melts and rolls down the foil and you smoke it through a tinfoil tube.(chasing the dragon) Some people even prefer snorting it in lines. This song predates Blood Sweat and Tears (Revolver) but in one sense, it is the best BST style song ever. The Beatles were chameleons. The section in Back in the USSR paying homage to the Beach Boys sounds better than the Beach Boys.

that's one of his best vocals.... I am a huge fan of his... but for example, Get Back and Maybe I'm amazed are not examples of his best vocals on their respective albums... he sings them great live, but their album versions are not that good.... as much as I love this guy

In The Beatles Biography written in the early 70's the author said this song was about their 1st LSD trip. Listen to the very 1st line. This was also written and recorded at the time they started experimenting. But, I will check out 'Many Years From Now'. I'm not doubting you. He has said that fans know The Beatles history better than him.

My favourite album is "Magical Mystery Tour" followed by "The Beatles" aka "The White Album"-both of those releases were considered to be The 'New' Beatles,my third favourite is "Revolver" which is the last album they released before the "New Beatles" term came into existence.
