This is a band that should have been amazing but were incredibly disappointing!
This sounds like a lame christian song. The kind of shit our religion teacher at school used to make us sit through. I really don't like the singers voice. He's obviously in tune etc but I just don't like his voice at all. Sorry.
I rate this album equal to Bat Out Of Hell, Dark Side Of The Moon, and Back In Black !!! The more you listen to these four, the better they are appreciated !!!
I met Max Bacon In 2004 , He is still an amazing singer, I have some of the second unreleased album, not sure if it OK to post , but will try.
He told me a lot of effort went into the song writing for this album, it still has some magic to this day, for anyone out there who reads this , Follow your dream, be positive and always give back , Ben

this is a great ballad and a great (very underrated!) LP...listening to this in college, was a great time in my life.....a timeless song of follow the straight n narrow (aka: GOD's way!) and He will always be there, never fear!!!
Fantastic album! Brings back great memories of Oregon, USA in 1987. Pity this band never went much further! Agreed, every song on the entire album is good.
Listen to the whole album, there is not a bad song on it. Even the instrumentals are great. I still have the cassette tape from when it came out. I just got the CD about a year ago. Just great music.
I was in Europe, Innsbrook to be exact, running overseas as a track and field runner in 1987. I was 17 and far from home. For some reason this one song always comforted me during that time. When I returned to the States in the fall, I had my best season ever, earning a full scholarship to the University of Minnesota. My how time flys!
When I was a kid I struggled to comprehend what this song was wanting to say, and I figured my difficulty was because I was young and naive. Years later, it still doesn't really make much sense except to say that sometimes you do your best and it isn't good enough.
IMHO, is not, toe the line it means, "do what is expected", so no try to chage things, dont try do do what is correct, that's why "you get no tks at all", in the end it reflect a frustating feeling for trying to do the right thing, and no one see it (or in case worst than that), that's my humilde opinion, i hope you understand my bad english :), greetings from Argentina

A lovely tune indeed. Who'd have thunk it. The two Steve's. Two powerhouse Prog monsters going toe to toe. And an underrated album too.
