  • Best Springsteen song ever! And it didn't even make it on an album. I have a fairly extensive Bruce collection, but nothing comes close to this. Music, lyric's, The Boss at his best.

  • @bezzarguy hard to believe it never made it on an album huh such a cool song.

  • @luvmommy2 Yep..I love the early stuff.. they finally put it on a greatest hits album around '99

  • Cruising in the city in the rain with this song playing. :]

  • soul music

  • this is the version. thank you much and rest in peace big man

  • Amazing...I heard this song for the first time, today...I'm not a huge Springsteen fan, but I LOVE this song!

  • I love a lot of Springsteen songs, but this one just might be my favorite--it's very cool, soulful and sexy and it has a different feel to it than Springsteen's other songs. Thanks for uploading the studio version--I couldn't find it on YouTube for a long time.

  • sax n sex

  • i have fever right now !! i got the flu !! but bruce's song makes me feel better..

  • Is it the Big man saying "When he's got the fever for a girl"?

  • @MrBoyBoss ..Yes it is....

  • Probably my fave Bruce song!!!!!!!........next to "Trapped".

  • the BOSS!!

  • One of my TOP TEN songs!

  • You are my sun in the morning, you are my moon @ night. Cheers Bruce x

  • Never heard this a lot, but its my fav by him.

  • not a huge springsteen fan by any means, but this song does it for me totally, this a nd spirit in the night.i was playing this the other day and the wife walked in and said'this isnt kreator or megadeth, are u getting soft on me?'

  • After the Pointer Sisters had a huge hit with the Bruce song, Fire, they recorded Fever, and it is on their rock focused album, Priority.

  • Would anybody share this amazing track? Can't download it anywhere!!!!

Also: I'm going crazy over a Springsteen song I remember from a long time ago. It was in a cassette (now lost somewhere) a friend gave me almost 20 years ago; it began very quietly and built to a crescendo with a chorus about "tonight / tonight's gonna be alright" or something like that.

    Does it ring a bell?

  • The track your looking for sounds like "racing in the streets" off the album "darkness on the edge of town"

  • Thanks for responding man, lemme see...

  • Wow! Yeah! That was it! And I was looking for something that had "Night" in the title... I just couldn't remember the lyrics hahaha!

  • you could always download it leagally

  • One of the best Springsteen-songs. Glad it did get released at all! Seems like it was pretty hard to get before 18 Tracks hit the streets.

  • one of the first Springsteen songs I ever heard. when it was pretty new.

  • Not really a Bruce Springstein fan, but this track is absolutely awsome, got to be one of the most emotional tracks I've heard.

  • heard this song in the movie lucky you, awesome, just awesome!

  • O M G!!! I have not heard this song since the 70's when I first heard it! I have not been able to find in on a cd. WOW........Thanks so much for posting. It's one of the most passionate songs I've ever heard. Bruce is sooo amazing nowadays & this recording shows how hot is was destined to become. I heard that he wouldn't release for a number of years - rumours of good love gone bad the reason for it. Whatever, it's fantastic to hear it again. Made my day :D

  • the first time i heard this song, i was laying in bed late one night listening to the radio

i instantly loved it and still do to this day

  • This song just might be the most awesome ever.

  • prima!

  • gotta love those deep beats at 0:19

  • I thought it was Van Morrison first time I heard it on the radio, didn't think Bruce could sing with this much soul. One of my all time favorites by anyone.

  • look up southside johnny and bruce "THE FEVER" amazing

  • yeah...i heard it the other day for the first time in a long time; i thought it was bruce, but then since it is so different from his style and much more like van morrison, i thought maybe it was van and wasnt sure. it is one of his best in my opinion...love it...

  • The original version was on and album in 74 called lost radio show and it is the best recorded version of it, clarence clemmons breaks it down

  • i just got turned on by this

  • yeah...that can happen for sure.

  • this is such a great performance, i love it

  • wait scratch that.. no human is dry in the presence of this man

  • no girl ever has a dry puss in the presence of this man

  • oops...am I bad. Just remembered it was put on an album in 1999.

  • One of the greatest bootlegs of all time. Still don't know why it wasn't put on album at some point in time.

  • I agree. The video on here of him doing it with Southside Johnny in a cleveland club back in the day is amazing.

  • I have the original bootleg- I think it is one of Bruce's finest songs. It was released on the "18 Tracks" cd.

  • agree

  • this is one of "The Bosses" best recordings, but for some reason, he never plays it in concert. Love it!!!
