I actually raised a squirrel back in 08 when it's family died after someone cut down their home. (I named him Mac) But, hee got too big, and he wanted to live outside. So now he's in my backyard with his little family :)
@stealthbullet99. Red squirrels are the easiest to tame with sunflower seeds or unsalted peanuts. I had a pair of red squirrels that would eat out of my hand and even come to the window and scratch on the screen if I forgot to feed them.
My neighbor hated them and relocated them to the park after trapping them.
I'm a logger and went through a spell of finding young squirrels in trees I cut. We raised them and Hemlock the one we keep for five years was the best pet I've had. We raised another we named Spike and were able to release him back into the wild. I'm hoping to raise another one day as they surely make good pets. Nice to see your Sammy!

And before that happens, they often get antsie and combative. Meanwhile, they'le chew everything you own. Hide all of your cords and wires, mate. With diligence, you can train a squirrel, but only from a baby.
