so you have the blackout metal in the bridge/ the single coil blackout in middle and a normal blackout in neck? is the one in the neck the neck or bridge model
@FirePower3006 - It's the neck model. I have no volume/balance issues. The AHB-2 Metal in the bridge is lowered quite a bit (I have a front/"low profile-type" pickup ring in the bridge as well) and balances out just fine with the single coil & the neck BO...even with the boost activated.
I actually managed to squeeze my battery (wrapped in thin foam, so it does'nt rattle around) into the control cavity in the space between the volume & tone mini-pots. If you wire things neatly it's a tight but comfortable fit...no problem.
@huehxjis: Hi, you will have to rewire the guitar completely...change the pots, caps, input jack etc. My blackout's came with all parts supplied...al you need to do is use the supplied wiring diagram and solder everything together. Not that tough to do :)
Greetings From Malaysia , How Much Did You Get Yours? And The Pickups Were Changed Right? Because , I want to get this guitar cause it looks SICK. Obviously =.=
And Im A Fan Of A7x , So Syn's Guitar Is Like RM5,600 Which Is Around USD1000?
But This Guitar , They Sell It For RM 1,500 Which Is Few Hundred USD? So Yeah Im Thinking Of Changing The Pickups To SD Invaders. Which Pickups Do You Recommend?
@hishz9 Hi there...yeah, it's a great looking guitar! Mine cost about 350 USD and the set of SD blackouts cost me another 300 USD approx..so, a totally sick looking/sounding guitar for under 700 bucks :).
The Invaders should be great, my Blackouts sound just awesome as well..
very informative! Thanks mate! Is the jumper on the AS-1? I guess... just wanna confirm. Thanks again! ... not much clips of the AS-1... on the internet. I ordered a AHB3 and I'm gonna put it with 2 AS-1 one in my mahogany guitar!
Yeah, regarding the AS-1.. the jumper is on. I wanted maximum output from it to match the neck/bridge pups. As things stand, it combines well with them & they're all evenly matched after a little height adjustment. Sweet clean tones from the AS-1 too....really sounds great clean, I use standard tuning & mostly play classic 80's metal /thrash/death metal which's why I decided to get an AHB-2 for the bridge. ....no regrets at all.
the cobra skin and the guitar look sick but the tone the mic doesnt do it justice sounds like an AM radio or something, also sounds scratchy, far away (even at high volume) and like your playing out of a solid state amp :S
@MegaBeartrap: Really, I thought it sounded pretty "in your face" ? Might be something to do with the slightly excessive reverb or the fact that the solo's are mixed a bit low. I'm playing through a H&K switchblade 100 watt combo...but yeah, the mic is cheap . I tend to use a lot of gain & turn the mids up but it sounds smooth enough to my ears. I did set the input levels on my Zoom multitrack recorder a bit too high, so maybe that's got something to do with it.
I've owned 1 Cort. A VX-2V with EMG HZs. 1 of the best guitars for the price & easily as good as import Jackson/Ibanez. My VX was easily as good as my Jackson DK2M (sold) but not quite up there with my 1990 US Hamer Centaura. Unfortunately, the VX got smashed in transit by a courier. I put the EMGs in my Hamer Diablo & will use the electrics/trem in a project & probably sell the (wonderful) neck. Cort are fantastic guitar builders & are greatly under-rated & under-appreciated IMO...
I've owned 2 cort guitar's and both were garbage and that's why big names don't endorse the co.The tones here are made by Seymour Duncan blackout's and are probably worth more than the hollow sounding guitar they're in.
@blitzspeer: Too bad man, you seem to have had some bad luck with yours. Both of mine look, play and sound awesome! Yeah, I swapped the stock pickups (the other one has Lace Deathbuckers/Seymour Duncans) but I've done the same with my Jacksons & Ibby's as well. Cort, apparently, is contracted to build Korean/Indonesian made Ibanez's, Ltd's, Schecter's and more at their factories in Korea and Indonesia...and in my experience they're quality instruments, every bit as good as those other brands.
