@florencemorgane Freddie sings "precious Lord" and yes, it's absolutely amazing. I believe this was a demo. Freddie was working on the bits and pieces of the song.
I am in love with his beautiful voice. Thank you 4 existing! eventhough in a different era from mine. eventhough I never saw you sing! ( I hate myself for be so young I never saw you) anyway, you let us a very big gift: your wonderful work.
The best surprise we got from Freddy before he died was that "Barcelona" album in duet with Montserrat Caballe. Then we could be aware of the power and wide range of Freddy's voice. This album which got very few succes worlwide due to the cultural ghettoes we're trapped in, dispalys some masterpieces amongst which. THE GOLDEN BOY, the best one to my opinion. Two monsters in their full and powerful talent !
He had perfect pitch. Combine that with his ability to connect to every person at a sold out concert directly, and you have the reason so many love him without knowing him personally.
I some how missed all of Freddie and Queen's hey day (was living under a rock i think). I know i really missed so much. I agree that Freddie has the best voice and talent of all time, such beautiful songs and music. Sorry I missed the show Freddie, you (where) are AWESOME in the true meaning of the word. Damn I feel so anachronistic.
@alasalasami You must've been in the cave next to me! I feel the same way.....but I'm making up for lost time now at least. I have Freddie/Queen in my car, on my computer, VCR.....you name it, it's a Queenfest....till my dying breath! I love them so much!!
I listen to that voice and just fall off my chair! Pure genius. No one will ever be able to fill the emptiness that had left on the world when he died.. =((
Yes, I love Freddie--but the greatest voice ever--well, that debate will go on forever.
He wasn't Sinatra. He wasn't Tom Jones. He wasn't Caruso or Pavarotti. He was Freddie Mercury and that should be enough. Other great voices--well, what about David Bowie, or Steven Perry...they are all great in their own way.
@polarsmom How dare you compare any of those to Freddie? One could argue that there are singers that are similar in vocal performances, but the names you're throwing out doesn't even compare.
Never in my life have I ever heard a voice so powerful or emotional. His death is a loss to everyone who truely understands what it was like to listen to music in a time where electronic gismo's weren't invented. The music of the time was real and had feeling not like today's music when all you need to know is how to programme a computer. Long may real music live and the bands of that time be for ever immortalised as true musicians. As for Freddie he will never be forgotten. RIP.
@dqmqxjhn Nor will he ever truly die for those of us that will love him and his gift of music for the rest of our lives. There are a few of us that still know what real music and talent is.
Freddie Mercury was an incredible singer. Sometimes when I youtube Queens songs, I get tears in my eyes, just thinking, what a loss! What an incredible loss.
Scorpyaforever, i can change that to this, Freddie mercury, Michael Jackson, Ronnie James Dio,James Brown and Luther Vandross are the Greatest Entertainers, performers, artist, singers and humanitarian of this world and probally some more artists. Nobody will be better than them, not in our lifetime. and this is a fact.

I wish Freddie was played on the radio more. Even on "oldies" stations. Lots of young people don't know who Freddie Mercury is. They know a few Queen songs from watching shitty X Factor shows on TV, but they've never actually heard the real thing. Which is like saying you've heard Brahms, because your cellphone has a "classical" ringtone.
Are you kidding me!!!! sinatra, garland, ouch Freddie blows them out of the water from 3 football fields away, have you even listened to his songs, here's a guy that ached for love and never found it,hence the beautiful, beautiful love songs,if you want to sling mud do it somewhere else you are missing the point of this unmatchable entertainer, and in case you missed the humour in his earlier costumes watch what he himself says about them,to shout profanity is to show you are only worthy of yourself
cuando escucho esto me entra una sensacion de paz y belleza !!!!. me encanta, me transmite mucha emocion. No he oido nunca una voz como la de freddie y desde luego ninguna me transmite tanto.
@TheJumpyPopcorn I have felt identically the same way since I heard him sing the first note. WAY back in the long ago. Nothing has come close to my soul..Im glad that you put it so perfectly. He is missed every single day.
who is for you hadded stronger voice in this range..and fuck all power..emotion and way and tone of his voice is important..but anyway who hadded stronger range..?
I'm not sure about that. If it's about energy, charisma, leadership and empathy with the public then Freddie lingers way behind Frank Zappa, Elvis Presley, or Frank Sinatra. If the 'facts behind the acts' actually made a difference no one would give James Brown the time of day.
I still maintain Freddie Mercury was a great entertainer, but there were others, and if you preferred their brand of music, you'd automatically argue they were better.
@JJMMWGDuPree Watch Queen at Live Aid. That's widely recognised as the greatest performance ever. You'll see something that Elvis never did nor Sinatra. I don't see how you could say Freddie lingers behind those two - when they hardly moved around as much, connected with the audience as much etc. As I say - watch Live Aid. That's the easiest way to see.
@Funkynuts1 Watch Live Aid? I was there mate! Personally I didn't think Queen's performance was any better than anyone else's but maybe I'm in a minority, certainly his second appearance was a mistake, his voice was totally shot.
I'm thinking you've never seen Elvis or Sinatra in action. I don't like Sinatra, but he held audiences in the palm of his hand. Bobby Darin and Millie Jackson could do it as well.
As for Elvis, he had the true X-factor. He didn't even need his talent.
@Funkynuts1 I never quite understood the magic appeal of Presley either. To me he was a great rock'n'roll singer, but he was only one of many, and by the time he'd reached the fat-Vegas stage I thought he'd lost it completely, but you can't argue with his success. Even at his worst he could command an audience like nothing I've ever seen. There are dozens of singers out there better than Elvis or Freddie, but they don't have that magic. Me, I figure it's just like what you like.
@JJMMWGDuPree Elvis was a great man, but he didn't have the capability to sing in so many different styles. Freddie Mercury COULD sound like Elvis, but Elvis could never make himself sound like Mercury, even if he tried.
And I know there's not really a chance of Elvis trying to sound like Mercury, because he died only a few years after the band Queen formed, but you always knew what to expect from Elvis. Queen, especially Freddie, were master-manipulators of sound, even Freddie's voice alone.
@XxZombiExSlayeRxX I also want to add that Freddie wrote his own songs and played the guitar and piano. That combined with his charisma and stage presence makes me sure that there will never be anyone like him again.
@XxZombiExSlayeRxX I certainly won't disagree that Elvis always sounded like Elvis (In the fat-Vegas years he sounded more like an impression of himself). But maybe that's the point, I don't know. Back in the day dozens of people thought all they had to do was sound like Elvis, but it didn't work, whatever he had it was more than the voice. To me he wasn't a great singer, and he was a lousy talker, but put him in a room with other people and their minds turned to jelly.
His vocal is far wider than some people`s range of perception for music. Some people must hear Mercury`s acappela versions to realise what they are talking about.
What's all the arguing about on here? Just what does a man's sexual
proclivities, or indeed his humanitarianism, have to do with his abilities as an entertainer?
So one person thinks Freddie Mercury is "The Greatest and Most Powerful Singer Ever" and some other people agree with him. Yup, it's inviting trouble with fans of everyone from Pavarotti to Presley, or Sinatra, Garland, Meatloaf... It's all subjective because no two people like the same thing. It really isn't worth the bickering.
@JJMMWGDuPree It's not about arguing. It's about expressing subjectivity and facts. What you are saying is simple: perception and interpretion. Facts are real. It's not only about Freddy Mercury's voice, which was and is great. It's his energy, his carisma, leadership and empathy with the public. Sensitivity and artistic virtues. HE WAS SUPREME AND UNIQUE He left us, and the band spread out.
the bass in this song is simple, the drums its easy, the strings kind a very easy to do, the piano is ok but his voice is a impossible miracle, thats why all the songs he did sing its a kind of magic. Freddie will be always the BEST.
I hear his voice when I take walks. Sometimes one song will stick in my head for days and I'll have to listen to more Queen songs to try to "change the channel" to another of the "master of vocals" songs. If I were to be any singer of my wish of wishes, it would be Freddie Mercury.
@BicLighter1000 How come it's always somebody from Switzerland with this kind of mindset? Seriously, third time in a row... Do you guys just hate Freddie Mercury over there because of your own insecurities?
@CuriosityRoads Umm.. What? Umm.. Graham Bonnet.. You're fucking serious now? You're talking about the guy that LITERALLY tries screaming as loud as he can right? It's as if he doesn't even try singing, just unnaturally yell as high as he can. Neither does he almost ever sing in tune. That's absolutely retarded. There's no point in saying any more... Not sure why you'd go on here to say that anyway. Lol, such a moron..
@Typhoon792 If you consider demonstrating actual range and power to be "screaming as loud and high as one can" you need the shit removed from your chronically underdeveloped brain. Graham actually had some technique, something queerboy Mercury wouldn't know anything about as he was too busy with underaged rent boys to bother practicing his skills.
@Gregsynthbootlegs this is the voice, you must have it ,you cant learn how to sing like this, adam lambert never should be compared to him, its like you compare Yugo and Formula 1 car , ;) im also watching Fredies clips randomly now Greg lol
One man, one voice, one amazing life. Freddie...it breaks my heart to know you didn't get to live to see who you are to us today. I know in my heart you would have been as famous if you were living as you are in death. We miss you, we love you. I hope you are in heaven with your Dad and Jim living the life. God Bless.
Freddie Mercury's has the best voice in the entire history of music, and i'm gonna say this, till the day i'll day.
Was and remains the Greatest Entertainer, Performer, Artist, Singer, Voice, Humanitarin of this World!!!!!! No one will be better then him, not in 1.000.000 years....and this is a fact.
God bless you Freddie....love and respect for him!!!
To think he was fighting throat problems at the time, to hear him push through like this is just an amazing testimony to his dedication and his passion. Notwithstanding his other ailments at the time, to push oneself so hard and put on a performance like that really reminds one what a tragic loss it was to have that beautiful voice silent for so long. Miss you Freddie.
Mai sentito niente di più bello della voce di Freddie. Mamma mia, ho i brividi........ mi vengono ogni volta che ascolto la sua voce bellissima, calda, struggente, potente. Ti amo Freddie, ma tu questo gia lo sai........
HELL YEAH! Freddie Bulsara Mercury was and always will be the finest music and he didn't even have to sing. Fortunately he decided to bless us with his voice in song and spoken word. Thank You Dear Lord for Your Finest Gift To Us

TheSleppers 4 months ago 5
@TheSleppers He fucked "a lot" of men in the ass, saying Shitty Freddy is underrated.
Admire him for his vocals all you want, he was a flaming douche bag!
Do I respect him? no .. Do I like "some" Queen songs? .. yes

@BicLighter1000 How come it's always somebody from Switzerland with this kind of mindset? Seriously, third time in a row... Do you guys just hate Freddie Mercury over there because of your own insecurities?
Typhoon792 4 months ago
@CuriosityRoads Umm.. What? Umm.. Graham Bonnet.. You're fucking serious now? You're talking about the guy that LITERALLY tries screaming as loud as he can right? It's as if he doesn't even try singing, just unnaturally yell as high as he can. Neither does he almost ever sing in tune. That's absolutely retarded. There's no point in saying any more... Not sure why you'd go on here to say that anyway. Lol, such a moron..
Typhoon792 4 months ago
@Typhoon792 If you consider demonstrating actual range and power to be "screaming as loud and high as one can" you need the shit removed from your chronically underdeveloped brain. Graham actually had some technique, something queerboy Mercury wouldn't know anything about as he was too busy with underaged rent boys to bother practicing his skills.

@CuriosityRoads Right... Well, the conversation ends here. Too moronic for me.

One man, one voice, one amazing life. Freddie...it breaks my heart to know you didn't get to live to see who you are to us today. I know in my heart you would have been as famous if you were living as you are in death. We miss you, we love you. I hope you are in heaven with your Dad and Jim living the life. God Bless.
