Hey Kev-I use this for Steelhead here in North America. We are not allowed to use the added metal parts to the tubes in Canada for Salmon. Steelhead like the commotion that the stiffer hair offers in the fly. It makes noise and keeps the fly wider than only using the fox hair. Temple Dog is also illegal and can not be purchased in the US. If I build tubes for Salmon I use the fox, Icelandic Sheep, and Finn Racoon.
What is right for the Dee might be a wee bit narrow for the Salmon River.
hi mate,i like ur tying and u have some brilliant vids keep up the great work,justa comment if u dont mind,leave out that pink hair,thats not for these flys,u wana be sticking to temple dog and arctic fox,make sure u are getting quality hair,that pink deer and goat is spoiled the fly,u can use pink fox,but please leave outh that stiffer hair its not wat these flys are about,also ur hackles,fold them before u put them on,just trying to help,love ur vids keep em comming,ill subscribe now.
