  • In March, 1836, Elijah Abel, a black man, was ordained to the office of Elder. He was the first black man to be given the priesthood, since the restoration.

  • so many things ideologically wrong with this video.

  • blacks couldn't enter the priesthood because of institutionalized racism inherited from the civil rights era and 300 yrs of slavery

  • I truly believe the members and people on earth weren't ready for the full gospel and the higher law at that time.

  • They showed this video in my ward.

  • Its a simple as that. Follow the prophet of the Lord!!! It is God's priesthood. God's choice...

God is not influenced by Man but Man is influenced by God and by him alone.

  • our church leaders loves the black even during early times of our church. check Mormon Leaders Heart on Blacks part 1 & 2 youtube.

  • @77thstriplingwarrior what is the"black"?

  • Cool. Anyway, my point from the start was that religious organizations have too much money... that's all I was saying. Big cathedrals of glass and pretty stone...like, it's all really attractive, but I mean true spirituality looks past that anyway, right? Nice chattin' with ya. :)

  • Nice chatting with you too. I would encourage you to visit a local LDS Church to see what it's like. You can find the nearest one to you at maps*lds*org. Let me know if you ever have any other questions.

  • Ha, I have actually, many times, since I've dated a Mormon in the past. lol

  • Isn't it wonderful that the sacrifices of members of this church would honor God in the most reverent manner by erecting a house of the Lord unto the King of Kings! When members of the church enter into the house of the Lord, they feel his spirit within those walls.

  • That's cool, and maybe you're correct to a degree...but that's a lot of money is all I'm saying. lol. I just personally don't believe in having to build huge things for people to worship in, when small things work just the same. (It's like that for every religion is what I'm saying though of course)...

  • But it also may be more economical to build larger ones that serve a larger area than to build many small ones, right? The LDS Church bases the size off of the number of members in the area who will have access to and worship in the temple. Sometimes they are fairly large, sometimes they are relatively small.

  • I DO have something against religion in general. lol. I'm just trying to say that the Mormon church is the richest church in the world, and I would love to get real data specifying where that money goes to...other than building pretty temples. (by the way I'm not at all trying to be rude, just so you know. I appreciate the discussion we're having).

  • I think you've forgotten about the Catholic Church, haha, whose assets are worth far more than the LDS Church.

The LDS Church has released figures on the amount given to charity. It also supports missionary efforts throughout the worlds, builds chapels for millions of people to worship in, and helps millions across the globe.

  • Many Christian Faiths practice what the LDS.Church practices (TITHING) and it is evidenced that God blesses the LDS.Church more than these other Christian Churches. But they all study the same Bible & worship the same God..My question is WHY? Certainly the LDS.Church is doing something right, don't you agree? What do we do with the money? As we speak, hundreds of new chapels, several temples & meeting houses are under constructions. Our welfare system is first to none & many other programs.

  • The Church does have a lot of money, but most of it is tied up in church buildngs, missionary purposes, and relief programs. But it is nowhere near teh richest in teh world. The Catholic Church has the distinction of having the most money in the world.

"Mormon America" is a book with a discussion on the money the church has if you are intrested.

  • Yeah but we have now surpased them in per capita wealth, but that is a good thing not a bad thing, it shows that our members are educated and well employed.

  • This guy has way to much money!

  • Too much money? I think you must have him confused with somebody else. He had a very modest job throughout his life and lived a very modest life.

  • No, I just mean that religion now is all about money for the most part...and I mean at the heart of the organizations. He is at the heart of that particular organization isn't he?

  • President Hinckley has passed away. It sounds like you don't know much about him, but rather have something against religion in general?

To answer your question, Jesus Christ is the heart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, not any man. Would you like to learn more?

  • This video made me cry. What an awesome moment.

  • Watch the Video titled:

    "Joseph Smith WASN'T a liar."

    by FAQMORMON

    fairlds . org

  • Dude if you believe in Joseph Smith, i mean this from the depths of my heart:

That God have mercy on you and joseph smith. Lord, your children have lost their way and must be guided back to your righteous side. For with your guidance the blind will see and the liars speak true. In his name,

    Amen.

  • Have you ever read the Book of Mormon in its entirety?

  • Over an open fire, i reach out my hand and feel it burning i will pull it back

when i hear lies i speak the truth

when i read a book of lies i will close it.

if all the book of mormon words told the truth but held a single printed lying word, that would still tip the balance in favor of the lie, therefore making it false.

  • So that's a no, that you've never even read the Book of Mormon?

  • yes sir i have

    probably some nephi

i started reading but started laughing than i got mad, so i just closed it with an angry laugh.

  • Nephi's sense of humor, huh?

  • How many interracial Mormon marriages are there?

  • Interracial Mormonism is everywhere. My gf, soon to be my wife is Mexican of indian blood, while I am caucasian

  • In my ward (congregation) several, though I have never taken an exact count. I should note in addition, three of my grandchildren are biracial.

  • Thats about 5

  • We don't keep track. It isn't important. We don't segregate our congregations by color or nationality.

  • Great video! Thank you for sharing this.

  • I love to watch this video and love our Afro Brothers and Sisters! The long sufferings of their ancestors gave them a heart larger and a lot softer than most of us have. When they live the gospel, they are some of the sweetest and happiest people I can think of ! I did rejoiced when this answer from God came, because I already knew some of them much more devoted then many of us, with genuine humility, waiting for this revelation to come, serving faithfully with their pure heart.
