  • (Well I don't see any braces on yours.) Is that A BT3 Tom holder, and is the rod from the kit 7/8" to fit in that tom holder. I think I can do it if I add 2 tom leg brackets to the snare. no? (electronic mesh snare btw)

  • so i already have bass hoops on my floor tom to convert it.. do you think the hoops would get in the way of the beater?

  • um did you just say 'let's fck you..' at the ending??! lolol jks but that's what I heard lmao ;p

  • @EvilN00ber I said " thanks for viewing!"

  • @cdiaz55 oh.. ok.. haha sry man, i was joking :)

  • @EvilN00ber it didn't sound anything like that lol

  • @louis595 eah ok maybe my ears are a bit.. what? You answer it :)

  • How far from the shell did you drill for the tom holder mount?

  • Sweet! Im gunna try this out, nice one.

  • what heads?

  • @HiMyNameIsRyan56 heads in clip were evens EQ 2 on front and pinstripe on batter side! I've since put a 16" super kick on batter side and it sounds amazing!

  • @cdiaz55

nice and thanks for the fast response.. the super kick head fit on those rims? you dont need wood hoops for the SK?

  • Did drilling and mounting do anything to the sound of the drum? I'm worried my shell will sound dead if I drill new holes and add new hardware.

  • @peterabigania NO drilling did effect sound one bit! All added mounts had nice fat rubber gaskets on outside and metal type for inside mount to really seal off any air leak and let you crank down mounting screws!

  • @cdiaz55 So drilling didn't effect the sound, huh? For the extra tom mount you added for the Conversion Kit, did you just attach it, or did you drill COMPLETELY through the drum?

  • @peterabigania I punch a hole all the way through! I had no intention of using tom as a tom again! I f you don't wont to punch a hole in shell you can use a Pearl I.S.S. mount that attaches to drum hoop for the bass drum platform!

  • niccceeeeee

  • thanks for the vid. i've been considering getting one of those pearl conversion kits, and this is the only one that has shown its installation. so I'm guessing the ISS mount will basically skip the modification step with the tom holder, right?

  • @randomgmrtag Correct! your tom holder will be mounted on ISS, glad video help!

  • ok thanks man that does help alot i dont think my parents wouldve trusted me with a drill :)

  • sooo do ihave to have to buy the mount thing or can i just buy the converter kit ??

  • @SuperUwilldie The converter kit has no mount for bass pedal mount! You will need some kind of mount to hold to tom shell either with mount like mine or you can use a Pearl ISS mount that bolts on to counterhoop(No hole needed)! hope that helps!!!!!!!

  • You talk almost like hermit the frog lmao

    But nice vid

  • hey flores, I agree! I have since put on a super kick on it and sounds like a cannon! check newer vids! later

  • sounds terrible

  • Thanks for the awesome information! I am thinking of doing this on a twenty inch floor tom.

  • i cant find any of the products to make the tom in to a bass if u can tell me what extacly i need so i can go to guitar center and see if they have that would be great thanks

  • Hey alex, this bass drum conversion kit is made by Pearl! and consists of bass drum platform and spurs! hope this help & good luck!

  • How did you install the tom mount/how much did it cost/can you still make the mini bass drum without the tom mount ?

  • hey basement, the pearl tom mount cost about $25 bucks and you will have to punch out a 1" hole for pipe! and 3 holes for mounting screws! Yes you can make a mini drum without mount! Gilbrator makes a bass pedal bracket/ drum riser that bolts on to drum counterhoop of drum! hope that helps and good luck w/ your drum...........

  • do you think if i bought all the stuff

floor tom, conversion, spers. tom mount, ext

that if i give it to guitar center or something they will do it for me????

  • I doubt it mrboverbro ! GC is not into repair or custom work! but with that said this is not real hard to do yourself or if you no someone with some basic woodworking skills! good luck!

  • May i use 14X14 floor tom to do the same?? Actualy i need it for handle bass drum for playing romanian music..

  • Hey Andre, You can use a 14X14 floor tom but I'd use heavier heads to get a deeper sound if that's the sound you need good luck...........

  • wait so i dont NEED to use a 16" bass drum??

  • those pearl floor tom to kick drum adaptor kits are great aren't they? i use a pearl ISS mount which clips onto the rim of the floor tom so you don't even have to drill a hole in the shell

  • thanks dude! exactly what i was looking for

  • hey dude... what size are those tama legs?.. they look thicker like 11.5mm or so... i dunno im lookin around for similar legs that're 9.5 and i cant find anything. :[

probably gonna have to buy two new mounts in a bigger size and dust off the trusty powerdrill. :/

  • Cool, dude.

  • What head are you using on the pedal end?

  • greetings BostonRocker, the batter side head is a Remo pinstripe with a felt strip the help dampen head! I going to replace pin stripe with Remo powerstroke when I get a chance!

  • Thanks for making this video. I want to round up some toms and make my own mini kit. It would be so nice to take 2 little toms, a little kick and 2 or 3 cymbals for a nice little jam.

Good luck with your little kit. :)
