eclipse subs aren't really known for their spl but rather for their sound quality they can hit very, very low notes that much other subs only wish they could produce. for the most part, some subs are strickly spl while other are mainly for SQ. and then theres in between which not only are loud but quite clear.  just because you have the loudest system in your block, doesn't mean you have the cleanest sound, know what you want (spl, sq, or both) then choose a brand tha fits that category.

they r capable of bein loud n clean if u run it right i hit a 142.5 n to me that is very loud 4 underpowering them by @ least 100 watts which is alot when ur only runnin 400 instead of 500 n ppl that hear it r always impressed by how loud n clean it is...

honestly i would rate them 8 maybe 9 since they r a few years old and r suprisingly loud and clear i just ran them a couple days ago in a db comp and hit 137.5 in my 97 blazer which was louder then 4 12inch alpine type r's at 136.8 in a explorer and 6 rockford p3's at 135.4 in a suburban

i was runnin just the cap and it was readin 11 and some times i would hit 10 volts which is bad just to let you kno and now i rarly hit 12 usually around 13 with the battery and it peakin and im gunna get a high output altenater in a couple months so maybe u should stop assumin u kno what u r talkin about
