@TheThai69 Whats the point to your argument? Display flying has nothing to do with combat! Yes, there is the discipline of course there is but the Reds use the BAE Hawk for its overwhelming manoeverabilty abilities. The cost to the RAF and the MOD is big enough with the current team and aircraft, if they used front line aircraft like the Tornado or Eurofighter as the Blues use the frontline F15 or whatever - the RAF would go bust!

So the hawk jets are used because they are highly manoeverable especially important when doing the high-speed cross overs with closing speeds in excess of 1200 mph the pilot has to know that his plane will react as quickly as he demands it to! Also, the BAE Hawk is smaller than the bigger front line jets so less expensive to maintain than a frontline squadron fighter. These planes carry far less fuel too - so saving costs to us ...the tax payer! All good reasons for the BAE Hawk use

How thrilled I am to see such skilled pilots and British pilots at that, fly with such precision and skill. I felt the same way, years ago when I saw the fabulous Black Arrows perform at Farnborough, looping with over twenty Hawker Hunters and two singletons. They matched the Reds in every way.
