Sadly baby monkeys stand a less then 40% chance of survival in the wild. A new leader kills all the infants that aren't his. If food or water is scarce they run off leaving the babies to die or become prey. Apes are good parents, monkeys not so. Look up "disable monkey" to see how babies are treated by other monkeys in the wild. If a baby is born with any visual handicap, missing toes etc, the mother usually eats it. The wild is not the utopia some would have you believe.
