  • It's really sad...A really hot dumb guy or dumb girl gets hired fast, and being "HOT" is #1 these days. Just look at the Billboards, MTV, and our mainstream media...everything does revolve around looks and it is pretty unfair because it seems employers put looks first before education.

Good honest intelligent people with average looks...having outstanding resumes, very educated, and with College degrees! Getting put on the waiting list or the back burner.

  • Networks are important

  • LOL i'm 13 why am I looking for jobs

  • I'm just a college student looking to get a job to help pay for tuition. Find it hard to say I'm fascinated with being a barista at starbucks or an organizer at barnes and noble. I don't want to lie on my resume, just want to say "I'm a hard worker. I'm only applying to pay for books. I won't hassle you" and not that i'm fascinated in the field. Must be why I'm still unemployed...

  • My grammar and spelling is so accurate that I constantly catch errors in "professional" publications and I still can't get an interview at a fucking wal-mart. The only way to get a job is to know someone or to suck a mean dick. Fucking worthless world. I'm with the other guy who says that only to those whom do not deserve a job, is one granted. ---IF--- Someone ever takes a chance on me, they're gonna get an employee with a big ass chip on his shoulder--to their gain. I have something to prove.

  • I don't understand all video, would you give me subtitle ?

  • ok so i recently turned 16 and im trying to get a job.. my family is struggling with debts and rent so im just trying to get this question answered: whats the best job that could hire me and pay me decently (talkin about @ least 7$ an hour)? :/ plz help anyone

  • @jaimecaramellos depending on where you're located at, local big supermarkets like Publix (if you're in the south east) or Kroger, Albertsons, are great jobs for 16 year olds. you get tons of hours, about 7.50 an hour, and promotions and raises very quickly. Look on the website Indeed. com, it's very helpful. I'm sixteen as well, message me if you need more help :)

  • @jaimecaramellos walking with newspapers

  • lie lie and lie to get the job you want. I hate lying but telling the truth got me nowhere

  • It seems that only people who don't deserve a job are getting jobs these days..

  • @discxpro

    COMPLETELY AGREE!

  • @BADBIBY It's actually so true. I never lie on my Resume, yet all my friends do and thet all have jobs and i cant seem to get an interview!!!

  • @missyblahmissyhah that is bullshit bro...i gotta tell you I have the same problem as you... good thing i started lying bout how organized and on time I am

  • @BADBIBY that sounds about rite becaus ur nevr good enough for them..thos bastards

  • dude this is so true...you need to know someone to get a job... i need money! but i cant find a fuckin job! and i know i can do better than a lot of these people that dont give a shit about there jobs...thats what makes me the most mad

  • I can't even get 'work experiance' let alone a REAL paied job ):

  • This video is informative and I find that networking and obtaining information interviews help in getting back to the work place after a long absence.

    LauraDiaz

  • ok... sooooo

I failed my final exam, which means I can't enter uni...

I retook it, and failed it again. (I guess I'm just suck at maths, literature, and science altogether...)

I worked as a waiter for a few weeks, but was kicked out because I am unable to hold the trays for long periods of time without making stuff fall...

I tried entering the military but couldn't stand the mental pressure and left after 10 months...

I have no experience, and no employer wants me anymore... I'm screwed..

  • @upsilone19 same thing here happens but we gotta keep on trying !

  • @upsilone19 same thing here happens but we gotta keep on trying ! it´s really hard to find it but it´s there, go for it!

  • @upsilone19

hang in there buddy. never give up

  • @upsilone19 How did you get out the military when you are under contract? They discharged you with honor?

  • Use that spellcheck LOL...Lady you better check yourself, before you wreck yourself.

  • Thats it! I'm going prostitution! whos with me!!

  • @Jreythe2nd Its legal in vegas.

  • It didn't work for me (associations and school networks). I have yet to work full-time and I graduated in '05 so I would love to know what really works, not a suggestion.

  • @NenaStarr2005 BA in English or MSc in engineering?

  • @phobik2000...Broadcast Communications

I work part-time in my field and I'm lucky.

  • how come bosses always pressure their workers, is there a reason for that other then they like to make it seem like pressure is part of the job ? Even when theres no need to pressure any one but yet they do it.

  • Or just become a escort

  • I am shocked at my lack of success in my job search lately. I have worked in the service sector and built up good credentials for years but can't get anyone to hire me on now. I've even offered to work for around minimum wage! I recently talked to one of the good guys I used to work with who is now a store manager and he said they simply can't afford to hire anyone anymore. And every time I try to talk directly to the hiring managers, they just tell me, "we'll get back to you" but never do. Ugh.

  • Owenkitto sorry to break it to you but u need to get your facts straight. I'm from the UK and i know its impossible not to pay tax. If u don't have a job improve on urself but quit blaming others for your problems.

  • hey if anyone else is still looking for help please check out the blog succeedaftercollege

  • wow hahahahaaaaa this iss a diffrent way but i have my own its my gmas way hahaa.the bessttttttttttttttttttttt.

  • Cool video and helpful, also search and visit this youtube channel ukinterview to view a very helpful job interview guide based on u.s. and u.k. This will get you a job.

  • i see from my observations most of the people commenting are from the usa!!

here in the uk we have polish people and people from any were who take our jobs and dont pay tax and then go back to there country with all the profit. People employ these people as they will work for very little and work long hours. And also out country sends money to there country any way!!! Fucking stupid ......

  • the california job market is BS to me its ridicululous how difficult it is to get an entry level position after graduating high school, just to get a start in the work force. You need "experience" well how the hell am i supposed to get experience if i can get a job because of lack of experience? who the hell isn't qualified to do retail or team member work. And the fact that you need to know someone to get a job its unfair AND THIS IS WHY AMERICANS RESORT TO CRIME. dumbass job market.

  • Guys check out my video and the website wwww.getrichbydoingnothing.ws, A fantastic way to earn lots of money easily! It's genuine and not a scam , dont believe me? Research it!

    got a question? Message me.

  • ''hi, my name is John and im a fast learner, i love working with animals, i like to help things, ive always wanted to work in with animals aswell, ermm....''

    ''John...''

    ''...i...''

    ''John..''

    ''..yeah?''

''sorry we arnt hiring...'' (everybody in the store looks at you)

    ''ohhh, erm thanks bye''

See this is the kind of embarressing shit you have to go through with this bullshit '15 second' pitch. if you have friends or family that can get you a job then your fine, otherwise your screwed.

  • and they wonder why people become criminals...fuck it im gonna become a drug dealer...

  • @toxic2k7 Why not, it's money right? And best of all, your you're own boss!!

  • What about when trying to get the initial interview: is it a good idea to go back daily and question potential employers to see if they've scheduled you in for an interview?

  • i wanna flip burgers. only until i graduate XD

  • The absolute best insight I have ever received into the interview process. Very straightforward and crisp - you are truly a genius at what you do!

  • You can't get an interview if there's no job.

How do we create jobs in this economy? We have to re-create the economic structure we're working in. Co-operative lifestyles offer people a chance to be employed even in tough times. Why aren't people doing this more?

  • @CanadianoftheCoast

You CAN get an interview for a job which doesn't exist! Read the book "Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters" - David Perry. It's apparent that getting a job in this recession requires you to create the demand for yourself in the workplace. Don't believe that you have to stick to the conventional 'submit your resume to a company on monster.com' because that just doesn't cut it anymore.

  • @BowDownToSwineflue I understand what you're saying here, but I respectfully disagree. A company's ultimate dictator regarding the allocation of it's assets (wealth to salaries being primary here). When it doesn't have the money to pay employees, there will be no job. The company cannot afford it.

However, I think you're right when you say that submitting a resume on monster.com doesn't work anymore. (I've actually co-authored a book on the subject.)

  • im 15 and i have a military job :D

  • Hi Denise, I remember you from that radio station in New York. I think you are AWESOME. Thank you for this YouTube. Great Information!!!

  • Hey, thanks for sharing this great info with us. I know another great site with finding a job tips, it's SUPERJOB4U . com

    Hope you will like it!

  • All she basically says here, is to get the "Hook Up" from old college buddies, or colleagues.

You're screwed when your company goes out of business and everybody loses contact with each other.

You're screwed when you relocate to a new city (even if it's a work relocation), and don't really know anyone.

Managers, and HR personnel have no time to talk to common people unless they are doing business with you.

Oh ya, there's religious affiliations, they can come in handy, if you have them.

  • see what really sucks, is I just want an entry level job. Idc about a career right now, I am in college..I just want a part time 9-5. Nobody ever calls me back.

  • i know the feeling. and every time you call to try to get one, they always say that they'll call you if they want you

  • Years ago you could get a job yourself to get your foot in the door i'm going that way it's tough but its the way to go. At least I will be able to say I did it my way.

  • see this just proves my point you got to get hookups to get a job this countrys jobmarket is fuked up what if u dont know nobody whith a job what your screwed

  • yea, i agree.

i recently moved to cali, and i've been trying to get a job for months. it seems impossible, there's too many other people trying to get jobs. it seems the only way to get a job is to have good connections.

  • @mexmax101 Try fixing your grammer up a bit.

  • Maybe you should brush up on your writing skills.

  • @mexmax101 - hummm.. and these demonic frats and soroities are like the masons...they look after their own....

But if God is for you, who can be against you :-)

  • @mexmax101 If you dont know nobody with a job you go and meet people with jobs and try to build relationships... You were able to post on youtube, history has shown endless examples of people in terrible situations and environments who overcame through hard work and will power.

  • Thanks for this informational video. Excellent.

  • Im going to try it
