The problem with bridges is that you get bone loss (reabsorption) where the teeth are missing, that's unacceptable because in time, your face will disfigure and literally change the way you look, speak and smile. Implants are the only way to go.
I am 19 years old, and I have tetracycline teeth...well it's not that bad but im not comfortable smiling with them. and i dont have any missing teeth! so is the fixed or other kind of bridges, a good option for me? I wanna have my smile so badly so plz tell me what to do.
p.s. I considered to do a prominant lumineer but it's more costly and doesn't last much longer than bridges, right?
@mahsak09 You need veneers. Dental bridges are for people with missing teeth, where the missing tooth will be held on both sides by the adjacent teeth.
@raphzky28 Implants cost a mint my friend. That is why so many people wear dentures. Not through choice but because of the 1000's it costs for implants. Not many can afford that kind of outlay in one go. If you were famous then you would probably get it for free because it would be good for their trade. Which pisses me off coz famous people can afford it anyhow.
I know if i won the lottery i would certainly pay for them because they are as close to real teeth that is possible at the moment.
@raphzky28 Fixed bridge is better tahn regular false teeth. But the problem of bone loss still applies. With implants the bone grows around the screw they put into your jaw and keeps it healthy. Pretty much like the roots of regular teeth do. One of the fixed bridge benefits is that you wont have a plate on the roof of your mouth which makes talking and eating easier. False teeth are definately the bottom rung of the ladder so anything above that can only be better.
